Children are wonderful little creatures. They are cute, intelligent, and can be a lot of fun. But are you ready to have one of your own? Do you really know what you are in for? To help you figure this out, Clint analyzes the human child to help you determine if a human child is the best pet for you. Maybe you should just get an ackie...

My only objection is that the children sat still for the entire video. Totally unrealistic. These must be either heavily sedated or else a different species entirely that I've never seen before. I really hope Clint isn't trying to pass off some wild-caught, mystery specimens as "captive bred humans".

@@curiousfirely They do, actually. So well, in fact, that the clicker and target aren't needed after a while and they'll start responding to just body language. They're very social and very intelligent, and can form pack-bonds with anything. Engaging in training exercises with those they identify as belonging to their "pack" is essential to keep them healthy, since they need mental stimulation and a sense of social belonging.

There unfortunately are still wild-caught human children. Some "rescues" turn a profit with them. They especially like to catch young females because there's high demand for them. Don't worry, crested gecko diet is actually incredibly healthy for humans, at least post weening. Definitely better than what most are force-fed by their owners. The meal-worms and and other insects are incredibly nutritious. The lack of processed sugar improves mood, and getting their carbohydrates from fruit, they also intake plenty of soluble fiber, great for digestion. Also, getting them used to eating live insects before silly things like cultural stigma affect them vastly improves their chance of surviving in the wild, especially after society collapses.

Pet Dad: Handleability-1 While you can interact with your pet dad, they tend to be larger and stronger than you your whole life and can be incredibly dangerous if you get a badly tempered one. That said, a well trained dad can be taken for walks, will play games like fetch with you, and can be incredibly snuggly depending on its disposition. Care-4 While a pet dad may require some attention, they generally are able to perform all tasks by themselves from cleaning their enclosure to preparing their own diets. Generally dads will require very large enclosures however most dads come with them... Availability-1 While they are literally everywhere, it is incredibly hard to acquire a dad if you do not already have one and they can not be captive bred as there are only males left in the population. Kudos to those of us with adopted dads though! Hardiness-4 Pet dads tend to be extremely hardy until their later years where they become more susceptible like all creatures to various diseases. The main reason people lose pet dads is through over feeding them (they are likely to become obese if not properly exercised). They also can get censers from sun exposure or from toxins in their environment. Upfront Cost-5 Generally dads are extremely cheap pets to maintain, I even got mine free! In many situations they actually net their owners positive money; however, when a pet dad grows older their veterinary costs can skyrocket. Overall-4.2 While dads are not the ideal pet for all people, their easy maintenance (under most circumstances) and their durability and low cost make them ideal for most individuals. You do have to be careful to maintain a good relationship with your pet dad as they are powerful animals.
