Hey good people! The Middenheim mercenary warband is complete! These minis were super-fun to print and paint! I am really happy with the end result! What do YOU think? Which Mordheim Warband should I cover next? Please tell me in the comments down below! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
Amazing opening and good narration. You should think about doing narrations or intros to lore and stuff, eaisly one of the best thus far from the various channels and people I've heard narrate. Amazing work, too, and as always, you produce outstanding content! Learning more about mordheim since you have started doing it.
Vae Victis is one of the best 3d miniature sculpter out there. Their minis are the perfect level of proportions, realism, and stylization, with fantastic character design.
I love waking up and seeing a new vid from your Leif, for my dose of Scandinavian-warhammer-crafting-humour. Half the time I don’t even mind what the video is about you’re just an infectious dude. Cheers mate!
Watching yours and Eric's Mordheim videos has really stoked an interest in Mordheim for me. Your style is brilliant and makes the setting seem both ruined and lived in. Love it!
I love these warband and you other vids thanks for making these and they made me interested in mordheim. I hope you will make a skaven team or tell how you made your skaven warband. Cant wait for next episode.😊😊
Hey Leif! This is amazing! I actually sent you an e-mail two days ago about something Mordheim related. I was wondering if you had read it, or if it maybe ended up in the spam folder? It would be great if you could let me know if you got it or not. Keep up the awesome work!
Last Sword Miniatures has quite the exquisite range for a Middenheim warband if you want your middenheimers to wear armor,(look for their duchy Avernia or the Wolf warband miniatures range) they also have a version of the Wolf Priest for those of you who want to field an Ulric Priest
Oeh another ace set of digital assets. Fun stuff. As for posing bits and having limited time, green stuff can really help as it reacts almost instantly with super glue. So you can add a drop of glue on say the torso and an arm, while putting a tiny blob of mixed green stuff in between. The connection points will harden, while the center stays flexible for a bit longer, allowing for more posing or more challenging conversions.
Heck yeah! I hope this is the start of something. I really enjoyed this. I know this doesn't add much to the conversation, but I hope it helps with the algorithm
That's a grizzled-looking bunch of b******s if ever I saw 'em. Nice work Leif and I love that you're making use of that awesome head sculpt. Also, it's always such a treat to see new minis on that amazing Mordheim board.
Awesome job as usual Leif :) In our current Mordheim campaign I ended up using Darkoath savagers and converted Untamed beasts for my barbarians mercenaries.. I mean Middenheimers ;)
On the subject of models, you can easily pillage historical miniatures ranges as well for cheap plastic parts. My recommendation would be to start with Victrix Ltd.'s Viking kit. 60 models for $46, with a plethora of weapon and head options (including plenty of unhelmeted heads, for lore accuracy, though you also have helmets), and even animal pelts. (They're meant to be bear pelts, by the looks of the one head option draped in an obvious bear skin, but the other bits are not obviously ursine). You could just build these models as-is, so they're very viking. Or you could combine the parts with Landsknecht bodies. Sources for the latter include Warlord Games, or Wargames Atlantic's "Conquistadors" kit (which was made generic enough for most Renaissance European countries). Stick the viking heads, pelts, and maybe weapons on to complete the look. You could alternatively look into some medieval men-at-arms and knight minis from, say, Perry Miniatures, if you aren't jazzed about Viking Landsknecht. It's really up to you.
This is so cool! Have you ever thought about "blowing up" the minis you design to print out and paint like a 'office desk flair' version? I'd love to display some minis on my desk, but with them being relatively small they can get knocked over or lost pretty easily. If there were bigger, say like 15-20cm tall, I feel like it would be neat.
That is a swell idea for sure! There are some 75mm display miniatures that would love to paint such as a good Charlie Cox - Daredevil statuette. Ideally before he gets the "finished" Daredevil costume. Liked the black simple one he had myself! 👍😂
Hey leif, i discovered your channel recently and it has been an inspiration, i'm currently starting a frostgrave campaing and your tutorials for making building and terrain are trully awesome, very easy to follow through and is helping us a lot, thank you very much for all the help and inspiration you are giving
Hey Leif! I don’t think I’ve ever heard of these mercs before. They’re pretty freakin sweet! Great vid! Odd question here but how do you typically make your coffee? 🤔☕️
Ahh nice! It is one of the three Human Mercenary Warbands in the base rules! I am fairly flexible with my coffee to be honest but usually I take it black and strong! 👍😅
Nicely done, good sir.!.!.!.!.! Love that Mordeim layout that you have, with all the diff details, buildings, terrain pcs, and miniatures.!.!.! EXTREMELY versatile set up... I envy you... =)
Nice warband, I like the colour coding. Spellcrow have some nice pelt conversion pieces, and I do like some of those beardy heads in the Space Wolves kits.
Another amazing looking warband.. you captured the theme brilliantly... yet again you produced a awesome video to inspire us all.... Love your videos...
I had my Warrior Priest for my witch hunters printed from the Reptilian Overlords model, I just love their options and the vibe they have, but Vae Victis seems to have a full set for every warband for Mordheim! Coincidence? I think not! 😆 Anyway, another fun video, and I think it's a great help that you show us buying the warband as well Leif, thanks for that! The only critique I have, is that I haven't seen my favorite, the Skaven so far!🐀
Wonderful video as always Leif, I loved how you kitbashed the 3d models! I was wondering if you'd ever do a battle report of some kind, with your warbands? I love listening to you talk about the tactics and such with them, and would love to see them in action. Maybe it's hard to record or something I dunno, but noneless I think it'd be great. Perhaps a solo/ai opponent might make for a fun video. Anyway, keep it up mate! I always click your videos the second I see them.
Thank you kindly! My plan is to start doing Mordheim Rules walkthrough and Battle Reports! Just need to finish the warbands and some...other things! 👍😅
Your champions and warriors are definitely Swedish, if you look at their tunic. But will they be happy with the "fellow countrymen" from the Cult of the Possessed?
Nordland is more vikingish tbh. It's essentially a mix of Jutes and Danes, which is modern Denmark and Sweden. Their ancestors are called the Wes Jutones and they have a love/hate kinda relationship with the tribes of Norsca (Norway) who's ancestry they share. You can look at it like this, Norsca worships the viking chaos deities (The Jötnar) while Nordland follows the gods of order (Aseir and Vanir), which one of them is Ulric (Tyr) Middenheim has more of a straight up Saxon tribe mythology mixed with the Teutonic Order.
Excellent video as always Leif! 3d printing is not an option for me but we have been using a lot of Frostgrave and Wargames Atlantic miniatures. So, I have question, we've been playing Mordheim on and off for a few months now. We've made mistakes with the rules but we're having fun. Most teams are leveling up nicely and have a nice stash of gold crowns saved up. Can we go over the starting strength for teams sizes? I couldn't find anything that talked about that in the rules but you mentioned that you were going to increase the sizes of your team at a later time. Most teams have a max of 12-15 members, is that only for starting? From the Witch Hunters team: "The maximum number of warriors in the warband may never exceed 12". Thanks!
Games Workshop: "The forces of (mortal) Chaos are viking coded, because Barbarians Bad, Empire Good!" Also Games Workshop: "Wait, but vikings are super cool. Uh...the Empire also has vikings!" This principle also applies to Warhammer 40K, with the Space Wolves.
When I tapped out of WFB (3rd edition) Norse was an acceptable mercenary addition to Empire armies but not Chaos ones! It always surprises me that they've swapped sides.
@devsdice I'm sure you already know this meme, but man does it merit resharing for those who don't yet understand 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iUwsmt4DlUM.htmlsi=xcJvFA-rmqt7cXkL
FOR THE WHITE WOLF! But your champions with 2 axes.. Thats a HUGE waste of the S4 strength on the double handed weapons for middenhiem, thats one of the big draws. Shields and Parry? goodbye.
I like how you show us your process. I also like how you share where you find your minis and put them together. It makes me want to get some people together and game!
