This is 14 years old. Wow. Back then I was sure Skye would be a superstar. I wonder what happened. I hope she is okay and doing good. This song still gets me moving. Love the chorus.
NOISE FROM...is the album that SHOULDA made her. The !@#$%^&*idiots released "tangled" as the single because it sounded Disney. Meanwhile "Heart of glass" woulda scared and shocked EVERYBODY into loving our QUEEN
Skye has one of the best evolutions in music, and I've loved it all. Noise from the Basement was great. Sound Soldier was great. Sumo Cyco are great. She's fantastic.
You can download AT Player or Barro Tube. Barro Tube can open a floating window to play any songs or saved videos from your RU-vid account while you surf other things. AT Player can play songs you've searched into a floating window, but it doesn't have the section to open songs you've saved on RU-vid
I was 15 years old when she released this song and I remember watching this video A LOT, listening to the album non-stop. Miss those days 🥺😭I was such a stan of her, it's sad that she never got to be the A-list popstar she deserved to be :(
Same here, listening to her music was the way I spent like half of my teenage days! Her, Ana Johnsson, Ashlee Simpson, Katy Rose, Avril Lavigne... it was like a huge combo of amazing songs by all these female vocalists I loved back then.
Skye/Sever is the perfect feminist icon. She kicks ass, demands respect, and takes complete control while never once being stripped of her femininity. Western culture often teaches us that in order to be a strong female, you must abandon all aspects that make you feminine. Skye spits on this concept. She gets dolled up in pink and flowers to fix up her monster truck and tear apart a herd of terrornauts. I hope she continues to inspire women to raise a perfectly manicured middle finger at the patriarchy forever.
Otniel Romeo yea I went on a search and found her band now but this is o different she went from pop sound to rock and sadly she sounds sort of like Britney Spears in this haha
sOn flower Actually she was rock (or pop punk) at the first time (Noise from the Basement) and then she went pop/electronic (Sound Soldier). Now, she is hard rock / alternative metal (Sumo Cyco)
Dwight Potvin oh I know right! she said she would release some Skye songs a while back but hasn't yet which sucks, I wonder if she just forgot about it lol
Is there anyone else that has THIS sort of sound out today. I like her in Sumo Cyco and all, but I'm looking for more of THIS right now and I'm having a hard time finding it beyond her, Avril Lavigne, and Saving Jane
Sam K Yeah it is hard to find stuff like this, especially now. The only artist that has ever reminded me of Skye, was Fefe Dobson, because her voice is a bit similar in style, but a little different. I'm sure you've already heard Fefe Dobson before though, so that may not be any help. In her song "Don't Go" her voice reminds me of Skye a lot. Also love 'Take me Away'. Haha I can't think of any other artist at the moment.
my 8-year-old self used to fawn over her oh god, this was my jam. i remember listening to her songs in the background while watching happy tree friends
Skye Sweetnam has to my absolute favorite teenage role model for young girls. She's absolutely gorgeous and so confident. I not only enjoy her music, but I enjoy seeing her amazing style, she looks extremely beautiful and attractive without flaunting every inch of skin on her body like some choice celeb teens these days. :)
yay go skye! haven't heard this for a long while. i think all girls should take her advice and remember to keep their thoughts, not try to better themselves and be someone else
Indeed homogenization is something scary, not only on a cultural level but also on a personal one. Humans are what they are as they are unique. Once they cast away their uniqueness, they are just some flesh set to rot.
I feel like this is an immediate prequel to The Ugly... is Skye the one who summoned Sever to Cyco City? I feel like Skye is referring to Sever in Split Personality. Would love to see the conclusion to Lost in Cyco City where Sever finds Skye after all these years... would be a killer throwback 😁
Like maybe Skye is “The Ugly,” the mastermind, the “villain in the story” all along, and is the mirrorverse counterpart to Sever and needed to summon her so she herself could get out of Cyco City 🤔 Like she wanted to trade places. Would be fun to explore in potential new music videos, even if they’re not the remaining songs from Lost in Cyco City 🤔
Those dancers behind Skye remind me of the "Rotten to the Core" scene in Disney's "Descendants." I know this song came earlier but I watched it again this year.
Andrea Gaskarth the lyrics are pretty straightforward, the video I would say is trying to portray a post apocalyptic world, or taking a more symbolic approach and making skye represent a manifestation of her thoughts, and the other people/things trying to get at her are like "contaminants" trying to influence her a certain way. The dancing part looks thriller inspired.
Love this song! This so true about the world we live in right now... wear this, walk like this, do this, listen to this music! It buggs the heck out of me!!!
My favorite top #1 song from Skye sweetnam cd sound soldiers. this whole cd is awesome + the greatest, i think it's better then noise from the basement cd. so where is Skye sweetnam now, it's been a while now scents she has done a cd. i thought Skye would haved done another cd after sound soldiers. i hope she is still singing, Skye sweetnam has a beautiful voice when she sings. Hopefully in 2021 sky will put a new solo cd out.
Like what happened to her? she is soooo amazing! She always speaks the truth! Now we have songs about things that we can only kind of relate to.She really should come back. Im a Skye Sweetnam Fan for lifeee
((💿 )) human is like my number one favorite song off of sound soldiers. don't get me wrong here, sky sweetnan has always put out some fantastic songs but there's just something about this one I really enjoy listening too. It's the year 2024 now and i hope that sky does put a new solo album out, it's been awhile since she did one.
totally wore a jean vest, red long sleve shirt, and cheetah skinnys to school last year, looked like her and thats how my skye-inite style came to be. she is so inspiring love her!
i always thought that this song was quite catchy, but i realize it has a nice message as well. it talks about how not to give in peer pressure even if it's the latest thing.
