I might be confused but there seems to be a contradiction. He said there are no wake words so it's not always listening but in the next breath he said it does nothing until you interact with it. One of the ways to interact with it was with your voice. In other words, it's always listening. Whether it's listening for a wake word or listening for your voice, it's always listening.

So it's a phone with a dorky and inconvenient interface. Dope

As someone who works in the construction industry and interacts with non-english speaking colleagues regularly, having a translator that is this effective readily available would be a godsend. And yes, I've used Google Translate in the past, but it's not always the best at translating certain regional dialects and takes time to pull out my phone and setup for use. Unfortunately, I don't think the other features are desirable enough for me to take the $700 plunge for this, but I'm looking forward to the translation feature being available in the future on a much smaller form factor (and lower price point!).

A watered down version of this but as an OS-agnostic smartphone companion with the same capabilities would be an instant hit!

IMO it would have been great to have some sort of phone integration as a transition. Phones can provide so much more power and increase the functionality of the device.

BTW the total weight of almond he was holding was less than 15 grams, let alone their protein content with is about a fifth of their weight. A lot of what we saw here are demo only , they are concepts that are planned or at most, still in progress. Take them with a pinch of salt, don't preorder, and don't expect the first release to be consumer ready.

So it's an expensive translator? There's no way I'm giving up a screen with an enormous amount of information for a little projector that only works in the dark. I'll stick to my phone with APPS and ear buds.

This is great and love the idea reminds me a lot of the sixth sense tech from back in 2012 - my only recommendation or concerns as a consumer is I will lose and misplace that so often... I would like to see some sort of tracking feature or find feature... looking forward to the future

The identify food feature was cool. As a diabetic that could be really useful. But I see this device more like a companion to my phone, like a smart watch rather than something that can replace it. If it could monitor my health, bloodsugar/cholesterol and help me with my nutritional intake then that would be an apple watch killer definitely.

Except for the projector, this thing can't do anything that a smartphone couldn't do. I can also talk to an AI with my smartphone and the screen makes the functionality of a smartphone even greater. The biggest criticism is that everything can only be spoken via voice and can only be output via a loudspeaker, phone calls, text messages, emails, etc. so nothing with privacy. I don't see a replacement for the smartphone yet. not even close.

Yeah, that’ll be a big pass for me. The whole "the device knows everything about you, trust us with everything private", just ain’t gonna fly with many people... Hell, this device will probably get a hard time in Europe GDPR wise. However, if you restrict it to an instant portable translation device only, that thing will sell like hotcakes.

Remember Google Glass? It didn't take because the public would feel like they were being recorded without their permission so a lot of people who had it were assaulted. Sitting near someone with a Siri-esque voice all day would be very annoying and anti-social. It's got to have an earpiece.

I will suggest also providing a tiny attachable wireless microphone with wind and noise reduction as there could be too many voices available at the same time and same place. Good work and Bravo to Imran Chaudhri and his team. Welcome to the start of AI Revolution !

We already have smartwatches, and smartphones with this tech, and it won't replace all the functions of a smartphone. What's the point? Who is this for?

Coming from the tech space, these are demos, these use cases are almost certainly not “fully developed”. My two questions: 1. What data are you collecting from me about my interactions, physical location, camera and mic? (Can I have it turned completely off, no data collected) 2. Do you plan on EVER having that thing talk to me without it being prompted (i.e. it sees I’m out of toothpaste and says “hey, buy brand x at store x for $3.99”)? Though I think the future is bright, I see products like this and understand companies ALWAYS monetize, so what’s their play? What invasive tactics will be leveraged against people who pay $5.99 a month instead of the full $24.99?

Probably iPhone 16 coming with a pin feature where you can hang your iphone on your apparel with some pin accessory and it does everything like humane ai pin. And you keep the flexibility

It does not surprise me at all that the 3 color styles are the models of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S in those years when they were released and presented, if the same people responsible for the design are the creators of the AI Pin.

Voice recognition AI is so good these days that the closed captions in this video displayed East Timor as Easty Moore.

Suggestion(s): 1.) Remove the projector portion of it. 2.) Market this device to the Visually Impaired\Blind and it would greatly serve it's purpose. Note: The "Trust Light" will gain just as much attention just as if someone was wearing the google glass, anyone on the opposite side of this will not trust the unknown, even if you explain it. I really can imagine positive benefits of this device.

Do this presentation Over Again...Everything you have said keeps getting pushed in the backgroung because 1# Only Beth said a greeting 2# You both seem to have a fight just before the presentation 3# she looks at you always you dont look at her 4# Your voice is monotone not exciting at ll and her is tring to be but there is sadness. 5# you are both standing there but not speaking equally don make her look like a prop. And yes All of this is One -Presentation_ You only have One oppertunity to make a first Impression and you blew it. The product could be great I really dont know I was too interested to find out if you both were going to fight during the presentation because the Atmosphere felt so thick. ...Thanks for your time

It will be interesting to see how this screenless technology will accommodate our craving for real images. We communicate now more than ever via visual aids. It's safe to say friends and family will be even less interested in what I'm having for lunch if I have to describe it to them. A more evolutionary approach would be to simply have this device augment your smartphone, rather than try to replace it.

Guys the Spanish version of I can’t wait (to show you exited/looking forward) doesn’t make sense with direct translation. “No puedo esperar” means I can’t wait (with sense I’m in a hurry) would be “I’m not able to wait”. A good translation would be “espero verlo”. Great product!!

I think, this devise will gain popularity if it is paired with a flexible screen - similar to a very thin smartphone. Because many applications are more convenient to use while holding a rectangular display in your hands (watching videos, playing games, including)

Cool idea, however the Almond part is laughable. At 6:15, it recognizes a hand of Almond has 15g of protein, which is impossible. The USDA indicates average almond weight 1.4g each and contains around 21% of protein. To take 15g of protain, at least 60 almonds are required. This mistake probably transit to the daily protein calculation and lead to taking much less protein than required. 😅😅😅

Can someone explain the logic behind "there are no wake words so it's not always listening or recording"... immediately followed by "your engagement comes through your voice...". So, does it or does it not listen? Because if you engage with it by voice, it obviously has to be listening in case you talk to it.

So, when it looks through your texts to find information, are these texts on your phone or exclusively texts on the AI Pin phone number? If it's the later, and it doesn't take advantage of your phone information, that could really suck. Bobody is going to tell people to exclusivley text them on this pin. I mean, being able to make phone calls and send texts from the number this pin is associated with is great, but if people don't know it's you, it's worthless. And then you have 2 places with text information. I ordered one, so I'm excited to see it and use it, but I'm not quite sure about a few things.
