In partnership with the Ukrainian Red Cross, we’re supporting Mobile Health Units that travel to remote areas of the Cherkasy and Poltava Oblasts in #Ukraine to provide medical services to people requiring care.
These teams are reaching people, including those who have been displaced by the conflict, in remote areas where infrastructure has been damaged, and access to health care has been impacted negatively, to provide health assessments, medication, treatment for minor injuries, and referrals for additional care.
Thanks to the generosity of people in Canada and the Government of Canada, we’ve been able to provide funding for more than 38,000 primary healthcare consultations through nine mobile health units during over 2,200 community visits in Cherkasy and Poltava Oblasts, Ukraine.
Hear more from Kelsey Lemon (Vice President, International Cooperation and Programs) and Askar Umarbekov (Director of the Canadian Red Cross Response to the Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine) during their visit to Ukraine.
