Humic Acid (Humic12) and MicroGreene are two things that made a huge difference in past lawns. They are excellent fertilizers and soil amendments. Today we added them to our current lawn. MicroGreene provides the micronutrients most home owners neglect to deliberately add to their lawn. Humic Acid helps with overall plant development, nutrient uptake and root development. Both products help to improve overall soil structure needed for plant development.

I just sprayed the Microgreene with a backpack sprayer for a foliar app. Note that there is Humic in all the Next products, so you probably don't need to a special application of just that. I've abandoned the Ortho sprayer as I always had clogging issues. Just use the quart sprayers from Next.

Good call on everything you just said. I am not sure how much I will be spraying this year other than NPK.

I use a strainer when pouring Humic 12 into the hose-end canister and that does help with the clogging. Speaking of Humic 12, this year I started mixing in Humic 12 (1 oz per gal) with common anti-fungal product to pour at the base of my 16 roses. Did this 3 times in 3 months and I've had the best success this year fighting rose fungus. I'm thinking it helped with the uptake of the anti-fungal liquid product, and overall nutrients as well.

Wow! That is a great idea. I am sure it helped.

Although the old house was nice I am sure you don't miss the backyard hill lol. This home is definitely all your own now. I still have all the Green County products but haven't been able to use them yet this year. looking good Dino.

We definitely miss our old house, but I don't miss the hill. I don't think this is our forever home, but we have made it our own for now. In a year (when I don't have to pay capital gains) we will figure out what is next if anything. For now, we like how things are turning out.

I was thinking about doing the same thing this weekend. I guess I'll do it next weekend. Cool video!

Thanks! The best thing is that you can't really do it too often. I was running through the bio-stimulants once a month. A different one each week.

You should try the new quart size sprayers YM offers. They work so much better than the Ortho. The biostems are definitely a game changer.... well done Dino. 👊🏼

Thanks for the tip! The only product that really give me trough through the hose-end sprayer is the MicroGreene, but I will definitely try the quart-sizes going forward once the stuff I have runs out.

@@TheLawnShark they sell the empty bottle and hose end sprayer if ya don't wanna wait. I've been using them and I've had no where near the problems I've had with the Ortho

You should do a review of a 4 gallon battery backpack sprayer and let us know if is worth the investment. I have one and love it. You can mix the Humic12 and MicroGreene in the tank to have one application.
@TheLawnShark
@TheLawnShark 2 года назад
I would love to do a review of one. But they are pricey. Maybe after I get back from vacation. But it would be nice to run through the whole yard with a single application.

What is your liquid application order through out the growing season? What do u start off with in the spring through the summer till the end, thanks
@TheLawnShark
@TheLawnShark 3 месяца назад
Usually RGS, Humic, Microgreens every other week. But you can do whatever order you want and you can even do them all at the same time because there is no nitrogen to burn the lawn.

I put down Microgreene for the first time this afternoon. I used the Ortho sprayer as well. I think I may try to use my manual backpack sprayer instead next time. The hose wrangling was a pain, but I wonder if it'd clog up the backpack. Also, it's really impressive how much your backyard filled in after all your troubles last year and the washouts
@TheLawnShark
@TheLawnShark 2 года назад
The pump sprayer should work better because even the biggest hole in the Hose-end sprayer is smaller than the pump. And thanks for the compliment. It's been a journey for sure. Now I just have to worry about the summer heat!

Should you do a soil test before applying these ? Or would it not hurt to use if I never have before
@TheLawnShark
@TheLawnShark Год назад
Not necessarily. The Humic won't hurt your lawn in any way. The MicroGreene will not hurt anything either , but it may help to see a baseline. I used to do soil tests every year and now I only do it when I think I need to understand what is deficient. I have a good handle on my lawn, but if you don't, then do one to understand where you are.

Do you miss your Bermuda grass?
@TheLawnShark
@TheLawnShark 2 года назад
You know, that's a great question. The answer is yes and no. When it was hot, the Bermuda was awesome! It grew quickly and self healed! And even in the winter I liked when it went dormant because if there was something green in the lawn it didn't belong so I either pulled or killed it. But I didn't like the short growing season here in the Nashville area. This year would have been especially frustrating with all the late season cold weather. So, if I lived a little further south, like Georgia or Alabama, hands down I would go back. But I definitely like the green I have right now. Let's see how it handles the heat. We are still really early in the season and the real heat is yet to come. Sorry for the long answer. 😀👊👍🏼

@@TheLawnShark No worries. Thanks for responding. I live just south of St.louis. I have been playing with idea of trying Bermuda in my backyard. Currently have turf type tall fescue and bluegrass. I know if I commit to it Bermuda it's a mother to kill off if I decide I don't like it. Thanks for all the great videos.
