I recently acquired a Hummer H3 (2006) and I am planning on upgrading it and turning it it to a true Overland Vehicle.

Join our H3 off road page on FB. Quite a few people on there and its a very active site. I have the 3.5 in mine and have been running and wheeling 35's without issue at all. I am also in the process of setting mine up for Overlanding.

You can have "35 inch tires" by having 315/75r16 tires just by cranking up those oem torsion key screws. Aftermarket "lift kit keys" are just for idiots with too much money to waste. Modern version of "snake oil"... "33":s are biggest sensible tire size if the truck is a daily driver.The 5 cylinder is too gutless unless one uses just 3:d gear for cruising and especially for towing anything. And yes ,I have a 2007 H3.

i own a 07 aswell im just curious instead of just a simple trail ride how about taken some jumps with it nothing crazy of course not trying to be evil knievel but i would like getting all 4 of the ground how much suspension work are we looking at? and what else would have to be upgraded?

Would you recommend replacing tie rods in h3 base. Looking to make more off road capable. They do seem very thin, but do you they real snap easily like some people claim? Outfitter designs has a tie rod kit, however is it worth it for the $400 plus whatever it is to install?

Why a leveling kit when you cab simply adjust front tortion bar?

Where can you find the hypertech programmer for a 2006 Hummer H3? I went to the website and it does not show one for the hummer h3
@PARTOUTaccessories

We just contacted them after seeing your comment and our link in the description of our video no longer works. Apparently they discontinued the programmer for all models except the 2008 Hummer H3's. That is news to us since we shot the video two years ago, we are sorry for the inconvenience on that.

question: i just sold my wrangler, for an h3. couldnt get the wrangler to give me a comfortable ride. i really like this h3! my brother has an 07 bought new. still has it. so, im going to get that leveling kit, but i need to make sure to get the right shocks. im figuring hydralic. when ever im off road im riding slow. im not racing and jumping. can you recommend a good, comfortable, affordable shock? i dont want to be buying set after set of shocks! ill be putting 33's and steel rims on the h3. thanks

Forget the torsion bar keys and aftermarket rims!!! It is well known and published that a 35 will fit the H3 in its stock form, a few turns of the OEM torsion bar bolts and it levels it out, and the stock shocks WILL still work though you WILL need an alignment or the tires will wear out within a couple thousand miles. Huh, wonder why I didn't hear you mention an alignment? Maybe it's because you really don't know as much as you would like people to think you do.
@PARTOUTaccessories
@PARTOUTaccessories 6 лет назад
You are right, (and we tried that route) you can crank the torsion bars and use the stock shocks but the shocks will be topped out at only 5" of travel assuming that you wouldn't need a shock spacer to get the shocks back on. Tightening the factory torsion bars would be enough to clear a 35" but barely and not level the truck out. Plus, with cranking the factory torsion bars you'll end up dealing with a very poor ride quality, and prematurely wear out the stock torsion bars and shocks. As far as alignments go, it should be assumed that any time you modify the suspension of your vehicle to get it aligned. Sometimes when in front of the camera we forget to mention the common things. So yes, you can crank the torsion bars and get away with it for a short while but we wanted to have longevity and ride quality for this H3.

@Schwarttzy 5 лет назад
@@PARTOUTaccessories the travel doesn't change when tightening the torsion bar bolt just the ride height, I recommend getting Fox Shocks, again zero love is necessary to fit 35 inch tires

Question: For the leveling kit, does this only effect the front and raise it up to meet the rear? Or does this effect both ends? Looking at it for my 07 H3. I know I'll need new shocks, now...another question on top of this, will this screw up the angles of my CV shafts on the front axles and cause undue wear?
@PARTOUTaccessories
@PARTOUTaccessories 6 лет назад
Good Question; the leveling kit only affects the front of the vehicle. It brings the front up to match the rear. New shocks are always recommended with a leveling kit as well. The CV angles will change but they are still well within their functioning angles and will not cause any extra wear if everything is installed and adjusted properly.

@@PARTOUTaccessories One other question I had for you guys was did you discover any other tuners that would be available for anyone pre-2008 that would work? Or is it just a matter of finding a Dyno at that point and well...spending -that- kind of cash? Also, thanks for the reply! Appreciate the advice, I still haven't done the 35's on my truck yet, but I did replace the rims, and will need to replace the front shocks before I go further to get the look right. Tires are probably due in a few thousand K more too.

Extended shocks for the Tbar crank is needed too! It will help with ride quality! My H3 does so much better with the bilstiens I installed after the Tbar crank. I enjoyed your video, the link to the programmer didn't work for me, but after looking it up I'll have to wait before I check it out. That price is pretty steep. What were your results with the programmer after driving it for a month?
@PARTOUTaccessories
@PARTOUTaccessories 6 лет назад
Just contacted the owner of the H3 and he said, "To be honest the way the programmer changed the Hummer's performance was the main reason for not selling the Hummer. It really makes a world of difference when running 35's on it. The Hypertech is the solid choice to go with"
@PARTOUTaccessories

Thanks on the input for the extended shocks Chance, we went ahead and put some on in our latest video with a Hummer H3T Alpha.

Good question, it depends on what you are wanting to get out of your H3, if you are looking to go beyond the 2" Leveling kit by Zone Offroad, you could look up Old Man Emu Lifts on the H3.

Does anyone know if the h3 can run such big tires comfortably, I feel like the engine is too weak to even go beyond the stock tire size
@PARTOUTaccessories
@PARTOUTaccessories 5 лет назад
The Hypertech programmer helped quite a bit to re-calibrate the H3 to handle the 35" tires. The stock gear ratios work fine for it as well. That said, it would be nice to get a little more power out of the engine but nothing to really complain about.

You can change to lower gears if you have the inline 5 cylinder . The programmer changes shift points in your transmission . I have the 5.3 L V8 so no power issues especially with a tune on it but it gets 10 MPG on highway - the transmission needs way more than 4 gears !!

Phillip Abreu I had 315/75/16’s on for a while. Made it have very poor acceleration. They also rubbed in the front. I went down to 295/75/16’s, no rubbing and better acceleration.
