Great video, thank you. I have the new Ultrex with built in Mdi+ transducer, Mega 360 and Helix 12 Mdi+ connected with the Y cable. My Mega 360 image quality is great, but the downscan image is very blurry. What could be the reason for this?
I've got a similar setup as yours. My console units always give an error message when the 360 is out of the water. It drives me nuts because it also automatically switches the the view when doing so. Can you do a video on your entire setup's settings? I appreciate the technical info!
Need a little help. This is my set up. Gen 3 si N and a gen 4 di and a mega 360. Which transducer should I choose on my main graph (gen 3 si) both connected networked by an Ethernet cables. The transducer is connected to the gen 3 si and the 360 is connected to the Gen 4 di. I think I need to pretty much you setting right ?
Thanks and yes if you have it mounted on the trolling motor it has to be in the water to work. They do make mounts you can use separate of your trolling motor
@@InfiniteBassin I was trying to listen to your video and setting up my units at the same time and misunderstood your comments...but anyway, keep the videos coming!
I run a card in both. I like to use my maps in a split screen at the bow when im offshore fishing my way points or structures I find that I have marked. The helix unit's dont share mapping but do share way points when networked together, so had to get the card for both units.
You are correct. To be able to run them all together like the video thumbnail that requires the Y cable if youre running all to the same graph. You would need the 7 pin for helix and 14 pin for solix.
Good video. I have not purchased the 360 yet really wanting to see the input on the unit. But that being said I have a Helix 12 G2N up front and I'll have to get a G3N in order to use the mega 360 correct? Really like the content keep it coming.
Super. Liked. Is the Mega 360 ONLY for boat that is stationary? Or does it also work as a more traditional fish finder when the boat is moving? Thanks.
I had the 360 with the ethernet and replaced it with the mega 360. But the connection to the mega is different. I think I need the adapter to the ethernet connecter like the old 360 had. Or do I need the Y cable. I have the 360 up front and the other transducer in the rear. It worked before I bought the mega. I have not changed any cables. What am I missing?
So the mega 360 is no longer an ethernet accessory. Is plugs straight into the back of your graph. As long as the graph on the bow is networked into the console graphs it will work. You have to go into selected transducer and select all the transducers you want which would be the 360 and which ever model you have on the stern. Which graphs are you running?
@@InfiniteBassin 2 Helix 9s. That makes sense cause I couldn't find the right cable. So do I just plug it into the bow unit. Or do I have to use the y cable and take it back to the console. The bow is also tied to the ethernet
If you have the mega 360 and another transducer say a mega DI transducer connected together by a Y cord. You go into settings then to connected transducer. Scroll through until you see the mega 360 and the mega Di together. When that is selected it will display water depth.
@@InfiniteBassin I have a question for you, If I’m trying to run Mega Live, Mega 360, Mega side and 2D sonar at the same time at the bow off two separate unit heads, can you network together any two solix units, so all the transducers are plugged into one, but the mega side and 2D are on the smaller screen and the Live and 360 can be on the larger screen? Thanks!
@@loganmapes2307 yes they can be networked together to display everything. The mega 360 plugs into the transducer port on the graph. The mega live is ethernet so as long as you have graphs that are compatible with mega live you'll be able to display it on any of those graphs that are on the network. You'll need the 5 port ethernet hub and ethernet cables to do it all.
@@InfiniteBassin one more question, does the mega live connect directly into the 5 port Ethernet hub? Or does it have to connect into a unit head first?
Have you been getting interference on your's with the trolling motor? I have to run mine with a noise filter on the Helix, otherwise the interference is pretty bad. Looks like we have the cables ran the same too.
Under normal operation I dont. When I'm on 10 or going through super turbulent water I get a little.I have heard that Interference may come from having the 360 being to close to the trolling motor prop.
@@InfiniteBassin I think mines farther away than most, I did the 6" below the water line like the manual said, not the 1" from prop. Did u run ur power back to the battery with a toggle switch, or to a fuse panel
@@decoyn-7782 ahh yea I went a little further from the 1in as well. My boat has preinstalled wiring for 2 graphs at the bow. I only have one so I used the power supply for the second graph to power my 360. Those run to the fuse panel then to the power on/off on the console.
