HUMMINGBIRD HAND FEEDING

I had great success getting my juvenile Ruby Throats to perch on my fingers last year, using different techniques. I just purchased the same feeder today and can't wait to try it! I'm so excited about them visiting me again (only a few weeks to go!!!) so we can do this all over again. :) These birds are my heart, and there is nothing more magical than bonding with them and earning their trust enough to get them to feed from your hand. Thank you for sharing! This made my day.

I love the Costa's! They have such a unique vocal call. Spent 6 months with them in La Paz Mexico a few years back-they are delightful!

What a neat experience for you! I bought some of these little hand feeders recently. The hummingbirds come close but I haven't yet got them to eat out of my hand yet.

For this to work best, hang a regular feeder and get them coming to it for a few days..then temporarily take down the large feeder, and stand or sit nearby with the small feeder, theyll come right to you.

How long did you have to wait before they came to you? I've only been successful at this once. I'm disabled so I can't sit really still for too long but I really want to be successful again!

This is horribly damaging for the environment because little kids injure these birds that are already struggling to survive. It creates more plastic that America does not know how to dispose of and it toxic for them and us. Please help to save the beautiful creatures like these in the world, Not further the damage of them and our environment for entertainment.
