Humza Yousaf announces Shona Robison as his deputy but Kate Forbes rejects 'demotion'

NEW First Minister Humza Yousaf sparked anger from SNP veterans tonight by snubbing leadership runner-up Kate Forbes with an offer of a demotion.
The new First Minister risked inflaming the SNP civil war by asking Finance Secretary Ms Forbes to be Rural Affairs Secretary - which she rejected and will return to the backbenches.
It came after Mr Yousaf, who was Health Secretary until today. appointed key Sturgeon ally Shona Robison - who was axed as Health Secretary in 2018 - as Deputy First Minister.
