The Hungarian Folk Tales stem from original folktale collections, every episode has its special authentic ornamentation. The makers used the decorative art of a certain countryside region at each episode. The trio of folk art, folk music and folk tales are masterfully combined in the episodes, which have unique imagery, sometimes spicy folk humor in the dialogues. Thanks to the natural presentation of the storytellers, and the music of the Kaláka band, the viewer can experience something unique and special.

Actually I grew up with those folk tales even though I am from Greece and I live in Greece. In the middle 1980s they were airing on greek government television channels. Actually they were dubbed but they had ethical approval as well as they were part of the educational television. Greetings from Athens Greece!

I’m American and I TOTALLY LOVE these tales! I especially love the animation style that is used! Unlike the 3D animation, this paper/hand drawn animation has a lot of expression!

Oh just from that one side of the photo I was like “it looks like it’s in Copenhagen zoo” it might very well be. They tend to do that, and if you look up polar bear diving for horse head on RU-vid (don’t if you don’t have the stomach for it) you will see small children looking at the seen. One of the kids even says “wow a horse head, just like the one the lions got” And don’t get me started with Marius the giraffe 😅
