The first one the "mi vagyunk a grund" (we are the ground) is based on a novel called "Pál utcai fiúk" (Boys of the Paul street). The novel in short: There are some boys the Boys of the Paul street they "own" a big plot called The Grund, and there some another boys called "vörösingesek" (red shirts) and they want capture the Ground from the boys of the Paul street. And the song is an "anthem" for the Boys of the Paul street, they sing it before the "big battle". edit: oh and listen to: Republic - 67-es út

The first song (A Pál utcai fiúk - Mi vagyunk a grund) is actually from a theater play witch is based on a really famous hungarian book: Molnár Ferenc - A Pál utcai fiúk. It was performed by the actors of the theatre, and the song got so big, that they made a videoklip of it. The background is the play's design.

And in my opinion they are indeed well-made, as a person who is into theatre and acting, I like listening to them. Also, as a hungarian person, I am very happy to see that an american person is interested in the country.

The first song is from a theater play in Budapest. It's really famous in Hungary bc the tickets are always sold out really quickly. But A Pál utcai fiúk is a book from a Hungrarian writer, and it's mostly about friends and friendship. I really loved it when I was a kid.

Fun fact: The girl who sang in the second song is the GF of the bass player. They were practising at their (bass player +gf) home, and she was just asked to try it out how will it be in the final version - they never did a duet especially not with a female singer - but she was so good that they kept this version :)

1:15 - like people wrote it, it's a musical, based on the book "the boys of Paul street" and now it has a cult and is a huge success in the local theatre. all of it's songs are catchy, and the lyrics is very well written too. I wish someone translated them to english fo' real. the second is one of my favorites as well. it's a few boys, and a girl, I heard them in live, they are pretty good. I also recommend "Csendes vizeken" / "On silent waters" from the band. and the third....I actually never heard that before. thanks for showing :D all songs have great lyrics, again, I wish someone translated them.

You must known that the first song you've listened to, it was originally a book then years later it was adopted to movie version and finally what you watched is the theater version, they are all actors doing an amazing play. The 3rd song what you listened to is a Eurovision entry from 2018 but it didn't win the national finals.

About the first song: it's a really famous hungarian book, and popular musical for years in the theater. The story is about friendship, trust, togetherness and faith in each other. In this song the guys take an oath to protect their playing territory no matter what, against their "enemy", the other boy's group who want to occupy it. At the end of the song is the best part: "Why should we be afraid, why should we live for, if not for a dream?" :) P.S.: I would like to recommend Most élsz by Rúzsa Magdi (or Április from her) :D
