Hungarian stuffed cabbage recipe

Yes, i used grits, because it is the recipe of the traditional "Szabolcsi"('Szabolcs' is a county in Hungary) stuffed cabbage (for example with tomato). I usually use rice at home. But the "szabolcsi" is the favourite for me🥰 People cook the best stuffed cabbage in that region. This version have sweetier and smokier flavour. I love it!

@@RecipesoftheWorldTsabeeKitchen Yes I looked up your county and it's near Nyíregyháza as I read it. I have family in Nyíregyháza and Budapest but I am 1st generation born in USA long ago now LOL 😅. Somewhere along the way maybe saw my grandma, mom or I just did it but almost always add some diced tomato into the pot. Not a lot but a little for flavor. Maybe instinct but I like that and I have even used just a bit of tomato paste but again in the pot not the meat mixture. I went to Hungary to see my relatives and I loved it. It's interesting even from the 2 cities I went to there were some differences in some of the same meals. Thank you for sharing and I love how you present your videos. Thanks

Many people use pearl barley too. I prefer that to rice.

Igen, ebben nincs savanyú káposzta. Az eredeti szabolcsi töltött káposzta édeskáposztából készül.

@@AttilaNagy-qc4vm Az elkészítési mód, hogy valamilyen növény levelébe töltik a lényeg, nem az, hogy melyikébe. És te kitől tanultad a kultúrált kommentelést? Az Australopithecus-tól?

Rice is the authentic ingredient, as for you...but ín the historic recipe of "Szabolcsi Töltött káposzta" there are grits. Kiss!🤗
