Every technique has a purpose, no technique is useless....all depends upon how one understands the timing and distance during application. You explained very nicely. You are doing great, Shifu. Regards!!
@@zatrusofnietzche2281 My CLF instructor told me that if I wanted to see application, all I needed to do was to watch Marvin Hagler, so there is a lot of crossovers in techniques. The YT channel "The Modern Martial Artist" has some awesome breakdowns of his footwork. Pay particular attention to the stance changes in the footwork. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1z1GNlJDf1o.html
Love how this channel is growing💚 A lot of other channels try to show combat applications but most of them looks stupid. This however is spot on!! Huge respect for Shifu Kanishka♥️♥️
Of course we are lucky to have shifu kanishka sir in our country, it's no doubt that shifu kanishka sir is one of the best achievement of our country. All the best wishes for you sir.
This is a really good presentation. I love to see the meanings and variations of different styles and forms, but it is even more interesting when they express the same idea and how it translates through particular styles. Thanks for the insight.
Namaste Sifu Sir... I am a white belt in Martial Arts. I did a little bit of training in FMA. Your explanation gave me the understanding of why to trap. Previously I practiced ,it only as a drill. Thank you. 🙏
We play tennis and we learn from our master that ...one principle that I love to share ...can be used in every aspect of life- Dog waging the tail not the tail waging the dog .. It's simple but it's call out to focus on the core chi
very good video! glad to see applications and concepts behinds these kung fus. would like to see more principles and techniques from hung kuen, wing chun and choy li fut. thank you!
Sir I proud of you. You are a very good fighter. And trainer.. agar kabhi life me time mile to aap se juror meluga.... aap sena ko tran karte ho . I proud of you. And love you.... Jai Hind.
Great video and great moves sifu. I was wondering : do you make your students spar often ? If so, what kind of sparring (boxing gloves, MMA gloves, bare-handed, etc) ?
By the gods your kung fu is beautiful. I took a couple of years of choy lay fut a long time ago, so someone who knows what theyre talking about says: this guy really knows what hes talking about.
2:39 that’s fantastic.. if you use the two hands to get in to his center.. you could use a light whisking hand snd drop your thunder from the mountain right then.. just an idea.. but I would use that either way.. inside or outside. It just might give you an advantage
Awesome and true I said same thing to my students but sir one question there some problem in breathing when you were showing techniques weren't you breathing ???
I was reminded after seeing stil have the muscle memory I drilled in jkd /several shaolin techniques , I just showed my wife I've training her learned on like the third try I'm going too jkd for awhile, injuries suck
If you want to see functional trapping...watch the welterweight boxer Errol Spence. He uses it and he is undefeated. Also he uses feinting as well like Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali and floyd Mayweather. Real life fighters have used martial arts concepts successfully.
You my friend are awesome.. your knowledge is amazing.. please feel free to stop by n check out viper jkd.. it’s pretty much similar to what your doing there.. mostly wing chun choy Lee fut mantis n shaolin styles..

Good stuff. The only falsehood, however, is when you demo the "spear" at :58. You are not penetrating with any depth. If you do your Wing Chun punches without depth of penetration, then you are not doing them correctly Either. (I call these "Surface level hits") Not only that... but the WC punch is not just an "ARM" punch. Its a whole-Body-mass punch, when its done properly. People need to learn how to connect their entire body, throwing it forwards, and connecting it behind those punches. Its similar to stabbing with the staff. If you stop less than 1" into the OPs abdomen... thats a shallow surface hit, and has no mass, nor much power on it. If you were to sit in a chair, and just use your arms to thrust the pole... EVEN IF you put more penetration depth into the thrusts... it will still be somewhat weak. But if you use your whole body as well as your arms... you get a MUCH more powerful impact. One thing that WC and other Internal arts do best... is to be relaxed until the very moment of solid impact. Its only at that exact moment, do we tighten the entire body, to unify the mass... and provide a solid path of conduction. Its tightened and released in a fraction of a second... and so the outside observer will not know the difference, by merely looking at two fighters going at it. You only know the difference, when you are hit.. and thus FEEL the difference. So... if you are throwing your rolling punches so fast that you are not even able to tighten your body on impact... then you are only using your Arm force / Arm mass... and of course, that will be WEAK as hell. It may be enough to get the OP to back off, or to move his arms into a trap... but these strikes are not going to do much in the line of serious harm.. to a serious aggressor. The delay between full body tightening, and not doing it... is so small in delay, as to almost not be visible. You can also start out with a non-mass strike for a "Setup", such as to merely knock the OPs head backwards... and its quickly followed up by the 2nd hit, which has your full mass behind it. Since their head was already moved backwards... the next hit will not allow them to be able to use the typical head-back-absorb technique. Even If you lack good power in your tension abilities... If you step forwards while striking, you will at least have some forwards body mass + momentum, behind the strikes. All of this said... its also great to be able to do these Larger swing attacks as well.
Hey mate. Valid points. Though, I think making an assessment on whether a technique is correct or incorrect on a section of video that isn't about that particular technique is, for lack of a better word, lazy. We train Wing Chun and internal arts too. I urge you to check out other videos of the channel as well before making an assessment of what is "correct" or "incorrect". Furthermore, and I mean this with the utmost respect, a profile that has no content to demonstrate their 'assessment' is not one I would like to put faith in when it comes to critique. Maybe share a few of YOUR videos to demonstrate your skill/point. Would help you, and everyone here as well. Cheers.
