I’d like to think at 2:38 he was contemplating how he lost to Hbox, but after thinking about how much that win means to Hbox he went over there for the fist bump. These guys knew each other very well.
Yeah there's a lot of moments you can remember Armada for, but this moment of humility in his defeat cements him as one of the most legendary smash players.

Yeah, Hbox has become so aggro and no one can play Puff like him and at that level. Anyone who tries to say that Puff is a gimme character has to realize - no one else places high like Hbox with the character.
yea its hilarious that people say "he isnt as good at the game and wins with gimmicks" like its unreal that people think that. They act like anyone can pick up puff and start winning tournaments
I agree. I doubt top players will ever be truly content with anything but first, but I think in 2013, people were still euphoric just being at being at such a big tournament. Now, the feeling of being in tournaments, even Evo, is like... something they must accomplish, rather than something they can have fun in. Hopefully in the future, that'll change with new faces who are truly appreciative for just making it to top 8.
taylor sims - melee is many of these people’s jobs and they make a their money from it. Anyone would get mad if something detrimental happened to their job, tournament results are no exception.

I'm really happy for Hbox. But I wanted the 3vo so bad! And seeing how defeated everyone in the top 5 looked... heartbreaking. It truly felt like this EVO was the most important one yet, and you can see that in how joyful Hbox is, and how down the rest of the top 8 members are. Truly a spectacular tournament, congratulations Hbox you deserved it.
Say what you like about the guy. He's a great player who fought against the odds and took down a lot of obstacles to get where he did, even Armada. That's some serious talent, and people should learn from his success.
Yes, I may be a Smash 64 Jigglypuff main, but seeing a Melee Jigglypuff main on Hungrybox's level and seeing him win and get so happy about it is heartwarming. Hungrybox is definitely one of my favorite Gods of Melee!!
FireEmblem27 he's the only God now PPMD had to quit tournaments because of health problems Mew2King started streaming other games Armada retired because it was too much stress for him and Mang0 isn't really as dominant anymore

Mew2King dominated Melee, then Brawl and Melee, then Melee again, and he's quickly become one of the best Smash 4 players. While he more deserves the title, Mang0 is the GOAT, just as Ken is the King. It's just his title.
he beat hungrybox, made it to winners finals, lost to Armada, and then went to losers finals and lost to the guy he previously beat (hungrybox). I'd probably be upset too.
Living is Pain Yea, after he won Dreamhack 2015 he said "My dad just passed away -- it was my biological dad. I know it's personal stuff, but he told me you'll never be the best. You'll be good, but you'll never be the best. So, I hope he sees me now." in an interview. I assume thats the reason he pointed up right before being handed the trophy.
Man rewatching that gives me goosebumps every time. I remember watching live with a friend when Hbox was down 2 stocks before the reset, thinking "Well this is it, good hustle but Armada is just too good" and then all I remember was Pandemonium. It was so fucking hype.

Man, I wish I would have known about this competition years ago. I am just now getting into Smash and I love it. I have also been playing Smash Melee on Dolphin emulator a lot which almost makes me like it a little bit more than Ultimate sometimes.
That was Armada And yeah why wouldn't he be? Evo is one of the most (if not *the* most) important melee tournament and to lose it could break a man's heart.. But that's how games work unfortunately.. Only one winner GG to Hbox.. He deserves it!
