Hunter becomes human pig decoy on PIG POKER NC_S6E4

THE WAIT IS OVER for the highly anticipated release of PIG POKER. When it comes to ideas, the Night Crew team has about pushed things to the limits of what any reasonable normal person would attempt. After watching too many action movies team member Ronnie O'neal decides he wants to recreate something. It would involve turning his body into a human decoy in an attempt to shoot a charging group of wild pigs with a shotgun. But thats not all this hair-brained scheme entailed. He won't be satisfied until he allows a hard charging, frothing at the mouth wild boar to use his momentum after the shot to slide to a stop, resting at his feet like in the movies. At first Chris, his partner in crime thought it was a crazy idea, but the more he thought about it he realized he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to watch his good friend play chicken with a group of fired up hogs running full tilt towards the FOXPRO that lays at his feet. No telling where this dance could lead. Would Ronnie get scared and run like a little girl or will he brace for impact to see it though? Find out what happens on this revolutionary new pastime they have thoughtfully named PIG POKER.

I did that some 40 years ago although with some difference. Caught a hog(stinker) out on a property in northern Queensland. It was chewing on a dead beast(cow). My mate was driving and I snuck out of the passenger door, crawled up under the headlights which were blinding the pig. The pig was looking out of the corner of his eye but continued to chew. I kept crawling up to within 15 feet of the pig, my mate behind me telling me “that’s close enough” but I kept going until the boar stopped chewing and started looking directly towards me. The good old Bentley pump action 12g took care of him. My mate still shakes his head in disbelief at what I did. Was good fun! Cheers

Trying a human dummy (artificial one) with the call and being loaded to go a few metres from it would be really interesting, to see if a pig would actually attack intentionally, or if one would get enthusiastic enough to accidentally. This vid showed the normal reaction, the nanosecond pigs realise humans are involved they depart for elsewhere in top gear. And don't attack unprovoked, despite all the brave hunters derring doos accounts. Whether the call is sufficient provocation would be interesting, would a pig inflict any damage before realising, or occasionally commit to a serious attack? The fact is the likelihood of being attacked is higher from domestic animals, the pet cat or dig etc. A provoked pig is a different story, they can have a distinctly difficult attitude problem and be determinably aggressive. And occasionally one is encountered something else has provoked and will take it's grievance out on the first convenient target.

"How many of you would have ran?" Well, there was a time after a great upland bird, rabbit, and duck season that me and my Ithaca over-under couldn't miss. 100% confident in hitting a moving target on land, sea or in the air. Now? No way. Not without a lot of practice. Now? I'd be like Francis McComber in the Hemingway story: "The short happy life of Francis McComber."

Only a fraction of these shooting are for pest control, most are to keep a wary breeding popoulation of pigs doing their thing, damage some call it. Coyoye hunting issn't far behind probably. If problem damage is being reduced to being not a problem it's some success. If it simply shift it to ecome someone elses problem with warier educated pests, claiming it is some sort of control is optimistic. And 70% is the magic number with pigs, and it's seldom achieved. More os with mobs more than 5. A worldwide problem with hunters not accepting they are not any golden solution, quite the opposite in many cases.

Killing wild animals is wrong in a way. Human beings should not tamper with the laws of nature. Wild animals also have the right to live, this earth belongs to wild animals as much as humans. Killing a wild animal for your own pleasure is not a good deed. Some people are working for the protection of wild animals while some people are killing those wild animals for their own enjoyment. For the protection of wild animals, the governments of every country should make strict rules.

Probably not a lot considering there the result of domestic pigs escaping then over populating to the point that there over 2.6mil feral pigs JUST IN TEXAS that is over 1/3 of all feral pigs in all of America And if your against them killing the animals the 2.6 mil pigs are omnivores that eat EVERYTHING and actually prefer meat and are also killing animals and do to there numbers I’d argue there killing more than the hunters and how do you expect anyone to eat ALL of the pigs they kill or even half Now I’m not saying they shouldn’t eat them as it important not to waste a life but I’m just saying don’t be mad at them for trying to save the environment Also pig manure can cause soil to become infertile meaning it can’t grow most plants and yes it take a lot of manure to do that but with there numbers it’s not surprising also pigs can be hostile And if your curious of how I know this stuff I’ve lived on a farm my entire life and we raised pigs for most of my life we don’t any more because they rooted out the support of our barn and it collapsed but yeah I hope you could spread this information as I don’t think enough people are aware of the danger of the feral pig problem we have
