Hunter Douglas Silhouette DuoLite with SoftTouch Motorization in Lake Tahoe 

The DuoLite version, which this video shows, is shown as the only way it functions. The back layer only comes down when the front shade is fully lowered and in the sheer position. If you are looking for independent controls, then you need to check out the A’Deux version. Both shades are in one cassette and have controls that allow them to move in the order that you see fit. Honestly, I’m not sure I understand your question. I will give you the best answer I can. Halo doesn’t have a new version because it is a brand new version as it is. It was released May of 2022. Duolite is the addition of a room darkening layer to the back of the shade. It operates independently from the front shade as you saw in the video. Any Silhouette is NOT a honeycomb shade. It is very different. I hope that helped answer your question.

Steve -they are pricey because your buying a double shade from the silhouette product line.silhouettes are very nice but very expensive. They tend to have issues because there’s a lot of function going on in a very small space.the concept is brilliant but the execution is precarious.I’ve seen the back shade skew out and it’s edges get chewed up really badly-this will happen if the thing is installed with it being a hair out of level or if it gets exposed to any kind of breeze from another window being open effecting it’s stability while it’s in motion.even negative pressure from a door being open in another part of the house can effect it while it’s in motion.once that fabric begins to skew it basically chews up the black out shade because the tolerances are that tight. If you’re buying one or 2 then there’s a good chance they will be ok-if your buying a house-full you will have a higher chance of some of them failing.it’s just the nature of this product.at least that’s been my experience installing them.on a more positive note-this is the second design this model has gone through-the first was called”ADEUX “and that thing had a terrible failure rate-like if I put up 4 of them-I would be taking 2 back and sending them back to HD to repair out of the box...they were horrendous.

@@PaulKempler I had a bad run with the“ Adieux”shades a while back and it definitely soured our willingness to sell them.literally EVERY-ONE we sold and installed had an issue and we felt like they just weren’t worth the problems they came with and were put on the market to early after development...HD is notorious for putting products on the market and letting people pay to be beta testers in the field.the new duo lites are a big improvement on that first design however -they too can can be precarious you just have to make sure you mounting surface is dead level and that helps quite a bit.I’ve spent hours with the back shade skewing kits Hunter provides correcting issues and it does help...but the margin for skewing is pretty tight and they can rip themselves up if you get a stubborn one. Vignette duolites can be just as tenuous.
