All Hunter Industries Anti-Siphon Valves should be installed above ground and at least 6 to 12 inches above the highest sprinkler to prevent back pressure or drainage. Installations at any height lower than this may result in unsafe backflow conditions. Consult your local codes to verify this height for your specific area. Do not install any other shut-off valves between the anti-siphon valve and the sprinkler heads. Do not bury this product. In areas where freezing conditions occur, make provisions for draining the system by using both a drain valve and a stop-and-waste shut-off valve installed on the mainline feeding the sprinkler system. To assure complete drainage of the valve after the water supply is shut-off, electrically energize each valve for at least 2-3 minutes. This will vent the upper cavity of the valve allowing maximum drainage. The ASV-075 and ASV-101 Anti-Siphon valves are rated for use up to 150 PSI at 110˚ F. The flow control can be used to reduce the downstream pressure on high-pressure installations.

During the winterization of the system, the blow-out port should be before the valve or after the valve?

It should before your valves, to ensure no water is trapped in the valve or it will expand and crack the plastic.

I have that system in my yard. Problem is one of the valves was leaking very slightly so guess what huge water bill. Got the caps for the valves and replaced them. Is that the usual problem that the cover (the side you took off) is what leaks or is it the solenoid side that leaks. Just don't want another huge water bill. I have been manually opening the system to water. Thanks for any advice

Most commonly there is debris in the valve which causes the diaphragm not to close all the way. Glad you were able to get it fixed!

How to remove and replace solenoid coil of PGV-ASV-101?

It unscrews. Very simple. Disconnect the wires and then you can easily remove it.

Hi Johnny. This could be due to a couple of reasons. High pressure. water hammer, faulty valve, etc. Give us a call and we'd be happy to chat with you.

How do you connect the wiring from the valve?

You would normally run irrigation wire from your controller to the anti siphon valve, using waterproof wire connectors to connect the solenoid wires to the irrigation wire.
