@@kiki69yearsago14 yeah it was due to the pacing some people didn’t like very much, my friend dropped the anime because of it. Honestly, it was kinda slow for me too but I had a whole day to do nothing and I decided to binge the parts where the slow pacing begins so I got over it quickly
@@kiki69yearsago14 I thought the pacing was ok. It was a bit slow sometimes and I will admit it was dragged out. But the narrator explained the obvious sometimes and it got annoying to be honest. Still a good arc.
"If anyone wants to know of the hidden messages in this arc, it'll make their story even more beautiful ^ ^ Kokoriko is an advanced Gungi technique developed by Komugi that centers around isolating the King (as in the Gungi piece, not the Chimera Ant), separating it from the other pieces and killing it off. Just like Netero and the Hunters were planning to do to Meruem. However, Komugi unexpectedly develops a counter to this technique in the middle of a game, meaning that the King piece (representing Meruem) no longer has to die (since he unexpectedly survived the nuke). Then, later on, when Komugi uses Kokoriko again, she actually develops a counter to the counter ("she reversed my reversal???"), representing that the King piece (Meruem) apparently actually does have to die after all (because of the Rose's poison). However, immediately after beating Meruem using Kokoriko (symbolizing his imminent death), Komugi and Meruem start one final game together, a game that they never finish. 1-5-1 Black King -> 9-5-1 White Lieutenant General, I believe, or something to that extent. Immediately afterwards, they die together, leaving on the board Meruem's one black piece and Komugi's single white piece, together in Gungi forever. This represents that the two were always united through Gungi, and will continue to be together even after death, undisturbed and united for all eternity. Meruem places his piece down, symbolizing his death, and then Komugi responds by placing her piece down next to his, showing that she is perfectly willing to die at his side.. The black screen/black panels in the manga show that the Rose's poison has made Meruem go blind. That's why he has to keep asking Komugi if she's still there, because he can't see her anymore. This is ironic because his name means "the light that illuminates/shines upon all". He even got some godlike light-related photon-based powers before his death, allowing him to fulfill his name. In addition, as they are playing in the bunker before their deaths, Meruem sees a blinding light radiating from Komugi as she "reverses his reversal", making her "the light that illuminates even the all-powerful light". Despite being far weaker (and blind to boot), her light shined far brighter than his. Then, as he dies, Komugi holds him and feels his head, allowing her to finally "see" or know what his face is like. Thus, as they die, Meruem joins Komugi in blindness as she joins him in death. Meruem can finally see what Komugi has been seeing all along, and knows what it feels like to be blind like her, and Komugi finally knows his face, allowing each to understand the other more as they fade away (the OST used during their death scene is called "Understanding"). Touching, isn't it? Togashi is a mastermind, and this entire story, especially this arc, is a masterpiece, a beautiful work of art, a canvas depicting love, hatred, innocence, corruption, happiness, suffering, loyalty, betrayal, anger, sadness, life, death, malevolence, destruction, resolve, determination, avarice, sacrifice, "true" power, truth, and understanding."
atp I’m convinced togashi isn’t even human, his brain works at such advanced levels when creating these beautiful master pieces of manga and honestly I would sacrifice everything to have a mind as astounding as his.. I really hope he makes a easy and speedy recovery so he can get back to doing what he loves :)
It literally hurt my soul when Killua said "I get it, Kite was your savior. I had nothing to do with it. Even so, I wish you had said 'Let's go get Pitou together'"
The thing is gon was doing a pretty shitty act, Killua tried to stop him but couldn’t, that’s why he decided to leave after all the harmful things gon yelled at him
You know what make this song really gets me? The fact that Killua and Gon is polar opposite that Killua came from assasin family and Gon just your ordinary happy kid but in chimera ant arc Gon become full of hatred and Killua fail to stop Gon becoming a killer
Brooo id rather compare gon with meruem... While meruem got more human as an ant and gave his best to save komugi and wanted to talk with netero Gon became full of hatred and became always more "unhuman" wanted to kill pitou and avenge kite
@Jaime Jaimes Gomez looks like we watched the same video. For Gon right and wrong are different from moral and immoral. He was mad at phantom troupe members for killing people without remorse but he doesn't find anything wrong with Killua killing people. He lacks sense of morality because he grew up on a tiny island where nobody taught him about things of this nature, for him things are either completely right or completely wrong. He based his sense of right and wrong in what benefits him and what harms him. He's extremely selfish with a warped sense of morality but too innocent to realise that.
@@crescentmoondriver4343 Nah there is a grey area with Gon, he is a pure hearted kid that acts in a childish way, he can be very purely kind, or extremely maniceful
@@MrLukabot further proves my point. Hes either "purely kind" (white) or "extremely menacing" (black). Everyone has a grey area tho. Gon's is just extremely small.
@@crescentmoondriver4343 alright, while I do not completely agree with your interpretation, your elaboration made me understand it. He certainly sways heavily between the two.
I just finished this arc today and it hit me so much in the feels 🥺 the parallels between gon slowly losing his humanity and meruem slowly gaining it as the arc progressed was beautiful. The fact that this song is about how chimera ants and humans are more alike than you think, and humans are far worse than ants. And seeing komugi, someone blind, open up meruem’s eyes was truly perfect. So much symbolism, what a masterpiece of an arc.❤️❤️❤️
I first didnt like the arc that much because i thought that after they finish greed island is that theyre gonna meet up with leorio and kurapika but they didnt
@@collier6725 kurapika and leorio get their fill later in the series. My personal opinion is that focusing a smaller range of characters in this arc was better, as it allowed to show the more precise elements of symbolism and character development. I think it was a good parallel having the whole battle symbolised through a gungi/chess battle, the ants being one side whose "king" was meruem, while the proganists (gon, killua, morel etc) another side, their king being netero.
Stop the cap lmao, did u watch gintama? Fmab? Aot? And one piece? Gintama is the best anime ever and have best arc ever (shogun assasination). Hxhx is fit in top 5
I am a huge gintama fan (my personal favorite alongside hxh) but I hate when there are toxic gintama fans who will go at any length to shit on other animes. It proves you didn't even understand the message of gintama. "Live simply, live beautifully" - sorachi, author of gintama.
How great was Gon’s anger and disappointment in Kite’s death that he went to the length that he did? He really gave up his life to destroy the being, even though not entirely evil, that caused the death of the person he looked up to and innocently believed would be there for him forever...
@@zealous7933 kite is literally the reason Gon became a hunter? Bro kite is the person that said Ging was alive that’s why Gon got so mad. Kite is the reason why Gon is a hunter so?
When I first watched hxh I found it weird and didn't put it as my number one. After 5 years when I came back to it, I realized what I have been missing, how naive I was. It was a different feeling knowing you had watched a masterpiece and can now connect everything to realize it's one.
The sad part is that we can’t experience for the first time again a lot of these masterpieces (Naruto, one piece, bleach, dragon ball, berserk, vagabond, etc you get the point )
Hunter x Hunter was a really great show. The chimera ant arc is hands down one of my most favorite arcs in anime! Seeing Gon rage like that towards Pitou, then seeing Godspeed Killua.... don't even get me started on how much I LOVED Meruem's character development! There was so much character development and so many new characters introduced that I instantly loved. It was truly amazing and I'd do anything to experience it all again 😔❤
I just finished this anime and I can say with confidence, this was one of the best experiences I ever had. I love this series and I wish for it to return. Rest in piece all the fallen heroes of this show you shall not be forgotten
Chimera ants had no fucking chance lmaoo. they only sent Netero because they wanted more money going to hunter association. they cudve just nuked the ants hideout from the beginning but humans are fucking messed up ppl who would use lives for money.
@@kigonkiganoaoa9848 Humans already have technology that could duel with Chimera Ants, but for some reason they didn't take any action and let many civilians died, and they only deployed few hunters to duel with them! Few individuals aside, the other Chimera Ants had really caused a lot of casualties! They kills for fun, for pressure, even women and childrens! That's why I really hates Chimera Ants, a lot of them are sadistic, maybe u could say that it's because of the genetic influence from humans! I felt bad for Kurt and Reina, they're the very first human victims, then there are Pokkle and Ponzu, and many others! Overall, a lot of people died in this arc!
泣ける。 編集が上手くて泣く。 ただそれだけ。 追記【Postscript】 hyouri ittai=表裏一体 意味【 meaning】 Being in an inseparable relationship or Things that cannot be separated 日本語だとそんな意味になると思う。
Gon literally saved him from his family, which is kind of weird because Killua could have left by himself but he waited until Gon was actually there to leave.
Some people say that chimera ant arc is boring But for me this is the best arc on anime. In early phase there is not so many fight and just so many narator story telling about the ant and other information. But in middle phase the story starting look so interesting. Some strong ant fighting other strong people like kite and feitan. And finally on the final phase hunter attacking the castle this is the best part when netero and zeno coming with dragon dive.
Thank you for 500k views Edit1: I can't believe it views are at 700k TYSM for this and also check out my new vids Edit2: its over 900k don't know what to say But Thank You Let's make it a million nah just joking Edit 3 : it did hit a million❤️
Это аниме и эта песня напоминают мне о человеке которого я когда то потерял и теперь каждый раз когда я слышу эту песню я не могу сдержать своих слёз. Привет из России❤
What made this anime so good I think was the fact that there was little to no filler. It allowed for the story to progress without people losing after 20 or more episodes of filler like other shonen anime. That and there are barely any loose ends too
@@josejoaquindelgadopizarro4436 yeah for me the choir was really depressing, sort of like a fake happiness that fits the scene really well - it's a bittersweet moment where gon has avenged kite, but in the end for what? Kite is long dead, and gon is left feeling empty as he threw away his humanity to become almost a savage, at the end of it all he just feels worse. When you realise that there were no true winners or losers in this arc, no true good or evil, thats what makes it a masterpiece.
my top 1 favorite anime is One Piece, because im watching it since 20 years now I discovered Hunter X Hunter like 2 years ago and this is the first time that an anime ever came this close to beat my top 1 favorite one + the Chimera Ant arc is the best arc i have ever seen, it was perfect
This series immediately rised up becoming my 2nd fav, rivaling my top 1 fav Code Geass. This series is so good, especially the Chimera ant arc. Not only because of the fight, ost, ed music, but also the lesson and story. I barely cry in a show, especially in a anime. Since every show that I've watched that has some "emotional scenes" is very generic and not built up properly. Making it hard to get a emotional feeling on those shows. But, this anime made cry for a monster, that his sole "purpose" is to rule the world and become powerful. But along the way, he learned on becoming a human because of the girl. Who stood on his way with out realizing it. The scenes and moments of both the characters were perfectly good, that it perfectly makes the build up for that emotional scene. God, I love this anime. I really hope that It ends someday before I die, or the author dies.
Gon s just a traumatized child honestly, no monster, just a really unfortunate teenager/preteen who went through way too much. (I m just saying that he s not a monster and not the villain a lot of people make him out to be, I don t say he didn t hurt anyone, made mistakes or anything in that regard. And yea, he did make selfish decisions, but he s a child, children are often selfish, that doesn t make Gon selfish as a whole trait, he s a child, and he acted like one, precisely, he acted like a human in extrem situations and under a lot of pressure.) /In my opinion
I love this arc so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and also this amv
@@OverloadMagiciabruhhhhh been three years now probs won’t get a response but oh well feels kinda weird how next year imma be an adult I would ask for you’re discord but 3 three years is to soon ig 😂😂.well it’s gonna be my birthday soon but I’ll see you next year my friend
Just to remind you that Togashi is a genius, here are a few things about the names in HxH you may have not noticed: Gind means went in German The sun god in Greek mythology is called Phaeton, whose pronunciation is similar to Feitan, whose nen ability is the sun Both "Shoot" and Knuckle's last name-"Bine" mean sprout Knuckle, Shoot, Palm and Gyro's names are derivative from a commonly thrown baseball pitch in Japan Phinks' clothes have an Egyptian theme, and he is named after the sphinx Pariston Hill is named after Paris Hilton
Love both the original and remake. Of course the original version was much more elaborate than the remake but they make it up for the continued chimera ant arc. Different vibe but still a brilliant anime. Glad the anime finally got the attention it deserved. This sure brings a lot of good memories which kind of makes me feel quite sad tbh T_T
I MISS THEM AND THIS ARC HURTS :((( ALSO HYORI ITTAI HITS SO DIFFERENT IT MAKES ME SO SAD YET HAPPY??? 🥺🥺✌🏻 CHIMERA ANT ARC WAS ABSOLUTELY A MASTERPIECE ITS AMAZING YALL CANT TELL ME ITS TOP TIER
