Regardless of his desire to talk and negotiate, the end was still going to be him enforcing his will on the environment and subjecting people to his rule. Plus there is the fact that he already cemented himself as a global threat by the time Netero arrived. Why tf would he negotiate with a terrorist lmfao. As for the living after the explosion thing thats a non issue that I dont really get your complaint with. He is strong, he nearly died and his royal guard was there to revive him with their nen, but the radiation and poison from the bomb still ended up killing them. Humans simply thought ahead and made sure they would die beyond reasonable doubt. Just a poor criticism imo. Him surviving and essentially have a couple hours to live where he left an impact on mang in the story just makes it more immersive.

The author himself tells that frieza cell and buu is his inspiration of meruem. Killing his allies w/o hesitation, mostly using his tail, always wants to be the king of kings, malice and brutal is from freeza. Then for cell is always seeking for strength, power. Buu for having affection with some human(satan) and his dog 🐶.

@Los blancos y nada mas 3.0 The fact that Meruem, the King of the Chimera Ants, who was born with immense physical power which lead him to believe that all other life forms were below him, would kneel to one of his enemies in order to spend his last moments with the human who taught him that physical power isn’t the only kind of strength. And the fact that his enemy, part Chimera Ant herself, had such a visceral aversion to the sight of the pinnacle of her species humbling himself. This scene perfectly displayed the fundamental differences between human and ant, namely that humans are each unique with their own individual strengths and weaknesses, while in contrast the ants all shared a singular, all consuming purpose to achieve the pinnacle of their evolution. This scene solidified Meruem’s transition from ant to human, and in such a simple and beautiful way. That’s why I love it anyways.
