27:12 My highest respect to D K Dass, who spearheaded the air attack. He singlehandedly saved Longewal then Jaisalmer, then so on. No one else was in a position to deliver but him and his second help Gossain. Just look at the spirit of this old man, he's got such a positive disposition while telling us how he taxied out the plane in pitch black darkness. Thanks you D K Dass. You are a true son of Ma-Bharati !!
Every Indian everyday sleeps as we know we have the best men taking care of our borders. Just see the calm in their voice and a silent but brutally honest commitment they have towards Indian defence forces. Because of this we wake up everyday and work hard for our country. Being Indian I know if there is a single soldier standing no enemy can pass and hurt India. Salute to our defence forces.
Exactly. If such footage was captured, it could have been tele casted again and again to: Demoralize the entire Pakistan (psy ops) Awakening the Indian spirit. Tell the entire world that India is second to non...... Any way all the best from Sri Lanka
shame on previous Indian governments on not listening to the armed forces and not investing in them substantially but SALUTE TO THE JAWANS OF THE FORCES FOR PROTECTING INDIA AND NOT LETTING THE NATION DOWN. NEVER BEFORE HAVE SO MANY OWED SO MUCH TO SO FEW. JO BOLE SO NEHAL SAT SIRI AKAL.
Fuckin tactical failure of Army commands, for ignoring such important location as Longewala.. What has got the previous Government to do with? @sshole do you think IG was as lucky as Modi who sat on a fucking GDP of 2.05 Trillion $s and still complaints about previous Governments...Will he bloody concentrate on do something or keep throwing the fuckin blame on the previous Governments..
@@drindianguru1 in the war of '71 we captured 93000 paxtanis. They captured 54 indians. IG didn't even asked them to be released. So yes they are to be blamed. As for the economy, if you can only take it to $2b in 70 f*king years, even after having so much resources, because you have been following stupid socialist policies, then yes, you are stupid.
These great tales of brave air warriors must be included in our history and literature books to influence the intellect young minds of our nation, Jai Hind
Pls give some coverage of the Indo -China war My uncle just 21 year old 2nd Lt got his posting at NEFA just passing from IMA Dehradun. He did not draw his first salary also. 16 Grenadiers was his unit. He was awarded the Mahavir Chakra award posthumously.
Imagine just try to think... Sitting with 120 men facing 2 tank regiments coming towards you to kill you. They stood their ground and pushed them back. Lesser humans will break standing there in this situation. Love the Indian Army, airforce and Navy.
@@rajatshubhrosengupta284 I didn’t know that, Thanks Rajat. But still imagine standing up to that and holding them with 1 RCL and small arms fire. It’s not odds unheard of. In modern combat history it is definitely unique. They stood up against the enemy and fought knowing well that capture meant a tortured death. Great Soldiers of Bharat. Absolutely incredible valour and there are interviews of Sir Chandpuri, all remained calm and defended their position.
Very SURPRISINGLY & SHOCKINGLY, Air Marshal M S Bawa, then a Wing Commander in charge of Air Defence , based at Jaisalmer, has rejected the Longewal Battle by the small group of our Army Jawans , as a fake , fabricated event. The battle was settled by the IAF Hunters from Jaisalmer , as claimed by him. There is a U Tube post of AM Shri M S Bawa where he is quite categorical on this, and has dismissed the claims of our Army jawans having won the battle. Very confusing comments from the Air Marshal .
great documentry, I think the Hunters were much better suited to CAS than aircombat. We need one on the service of Mig-23BN and Mig-23MF with indian airforce
Me, starting this video: PLEASE BE IN ENGLISH...PLEASE BE IN ENGLISH. So many great documentaries about this conflict and so few that I can understand.
Our Big Salute to our ground and air warriors who were engaged in fighting in Longewala Border during 1971 war with Pakistani tank division advancing in our territory to control Jaisalmer sector, these worriers saved Indian's prestige and us , we will always indebted to our great heroes. Shekhar New Delhi India
awesome video or documentary i hope the Indian media will pay tribute n tell all those who don't know bout the war so that they shud know it .......just living in safe homes will never tell the truth, knowing d reality of life, experiencing it or at least knowing it will help em and everyone who had layed their lives or still at work n doing a superb work ..for those who dont care the big boss character comes on first page but a soldier come in 7th page n in 2 lines n that wen he dies...
oberoiji1 every force may be navy army or airforce has its own importance and limitations too....its ok to upgrade IAF but stop spending on ground forces doesnt make sense
Battle of Longewala was a gamble of Pakistan which could not pay. Had they been successful , they could have bargained East Pakistan ( Indian army had to vacate) for the sake of Jaisalmer and even the worst Agra itself !! The gamble did not pay because Pakistan tank division did not continue the attack or the trust in to Jaisalmer during night after they took the hit from IAF. The damage though happened ,still they had capability to thrust forward and could have taken airstrip at Jaisalmer with grave consequences for India. Now learn from the mistakes we did and the luck we had. Increasing or renovating old airstrips all along China border is now most important for us now.Increasing the number of small aircraft like Tejas is also important.
Gopal Venuraja you havnt mentioned crucial role of Indian army at longewala who fought with pak tanks until morning so that our air force can strike them in morning
Gopal Venuraja Whatever Pakistan tank regiment did still they were not able to capture AGRA OR JASSILMER becayse Indian army s heavy armoured regiments were waiting them to fight one to one. Battalion posted on Longewala was also provided chance to withdraw from their & joined with heavy armoured regiment.
if they had continued and came to Jaisalmer they would have been massacred even if they had come and captured airbase they could not withdraw as their logistics could not supply and their aircrafts would have been overstretched maybe we would have prolonged that battle little longer and no one would have been left to withdraw as they could from longewala they could save whatever that was left
Oh, I am a father of three, twin boys. My boys would probably know exactly what you were talking about as they are gamers but I was clueless. Sorry for the ignorance and thanks for the clarification.
Though I feel very proud of our army, I feel bad the higher commands doesn't take the updates from Major Kuldeep seriously and brushing off the seriousness of situation....
So as we understand correctly, we had just 4 planes , maybe 4 more planned from some other location to protect Jaisalmer. What kind of leadership decision does it show on behalf of Indian politicians. We're we so poor so as to have 4 to 8 planes to protect Western border? We're we so friendly with Pakistan that we never planned for defending a little better.
I'm sharing this on facebook and will be looking around for some video of India's Majestic class aircraft carrier that served then. the then Loberal government of Canada had decommissioned her sister ship HMCS Bonaventure and put is into a terribly weak situation for many years to come.
yeah right. 26 years before Indo-Pak war 1971, the Americans were fighting the toughest battle of all times. The WW II. Despite those old times they had enough war footage to make tons of documentaries. How about that friend :) Jay Hind.
found this one part a bit funny... goes down and takes out a tank.. and than asks his number 2 to check if they are Indian tanks or Pakistani ones haha..
Read this article by pak cavalry officer who was in this battle. Poor planning, no air support, desert terrain, poor logistics, desertions, inter rivalry, changing orders, insubordination all led to their debacle. IAF and IA fully availed these and repulsed the attack. www.strategicfront.org/forums/threads/battle-of-longewala-dec-1971-pakistani-perspective-brigadier-za-khan-pakistan-army-then-commanding-officer-38-cavalry.2495/
Sometimes I feel like PAKISTANI ISLAM teachings is itself blessings in disguise for INDIA 😅 otherwise how 120 Soldiers can beat 2000 strong men Motivated by ISLAM with 5 times a day Namaz prayers, DAMN! 😂
