Hunting Beautiful Agates along the Arkansas River 

How close to wichita are you man? I find some good stuff

What is the brown and red one i have 3 huge ones one 8 slabbed and its beautiful full of red and clear quartz 9:38

@@RandFTPParker I usually look around the Haven area, it's less than an hour to Wichita

@@adventures-with-joe Of course I say that, go out and immediately find the best agate I've found so far. But yeah, you seem to find a LOT more than I do, and your gravel bars are actually clean. Ours up here are covered in some kind of white residue that makes it impossible to tell what you're looking at.

@@gdavis-v3m I wonder if you have some sort of processing plant or limestone areas that put materials into the river. Glad you found a sweet agate!

@@adventures-with-joe Honestly it looks like dried salt. I know we have a lot of salt in the state, but I'm not sure how much we have over this way. I was under the impression that most of it is in the central parts of the state, but I haven't really looked into it that much since I moved back here a few months ago. At any rate, it's nice to see someone else out on the river finding cool stuff.

Hmm, dry salt seems unlikely along the river, did you give it a lick?
