As most of the harvesting challenges currently require a specific tool, in single player if you dont mind leaving the challenge incomplete, you could purposefully use the incorrect tool to harvest the resource, not progressing the challenge but always able to turn on the trackers
I've been pre-digging straight down from Buried Treasure Markers and the chest has been directly under the marker for the last 5 chests Tier 1. I love how the TFP keep bringing back old issues/exploit/bugs. I agree with Prebuilt, the devs don't play test their game without dev cheats on
Fun fact: Armor book drop chance is boosted by imvesting in ANY atttibute level. Its not dependent on the Medium/Heavy perk. Guessing they did that because Light armor users wouldnt put points into the Armor perks since no mobility penalty and everyone equally would need their relevant armor set.
That destroys my cheese idea (rush T6 nerd chest, complete all other magazines 50% faster), unfortunately... Maybe that's so obvious that even the devs thought about it...
thats why I was finding NOTHING but damn armor books. I literally finished armor before ANYTHING else, despite putting basically every point in spears asap. pretty annoying.
@@Happylachia I'm assuming by the wording it means specifically like "Strength" "Perception" etc, rather any point anywhere in the tree. But even that means that just trying to progress anything at all will result in a higher armor book chance.
Just a comparison I'd noticed, I was running int/agility build and had taken one rank in physician for the sprain cure and suddenly I was finding tons of meds, where as my buddy could not find one to save his life. I don't know if that's just poor RNG, but it might be related.
They nerfed lockpicking loot bonus. Now you just gather forge books until you have like 40 of them and then read them all with legendary nerd outfit :D
The honey challenge is OUTRAGEOUS, really seems like it would discourage/ be very inconvenient for new players considering how a lot of drops are scarcer due to the new update. Its also frustrating UNNECESSARILY rare it is now, let alone how off the walls the challenges are already
Oof, it almost feel like they lowered the spawn rate of Honey from stumps! They sure are nitpicky about what item is used for what quest, jesus! Also, Horde Night tomorrow!
This could be a complete coincidence but I feel like they made the stone axe drop rate near 0% but the iron (and presumably steel) axe drop rates are reasonable and similar to what they used to be. I could literally 0/20+ honey drops when using a stone axe and then something like 5/15ish with an iron axe. Unless it's related to loot stage or something but that would be pretty weird imo
Strength mod: "an AI neural chip that increases your strength" How shoehorned can you make something sound lol. Theres a couple of these mods now right?
I'm kinda whatever on the challenges. They don't give enough XP for me to worry about. But yeah, the system was clearly designed with new players in mind, and it could use a lot of work to be helpful for that.
If the honey droprate is just 20%, that would mean it takes 25 fucking stumps to beat the challenge. I broke about 15 stumps and got like 3 honey and only then realised that you HAVE to do it with stone axe. That's just annoying? It doesn't have to be this way though.
Does it really look so faded out now or is it your settings? Also the zeds with their highly praised multi color variants look just like 30 shades of gray.
Im honestly shocked how powerful armor is now, i never thought id see the day where a tier 2 rank 1 set of armor could make a soldiers attack go down to 5pts of damage
@@stevdor6146 He had played with us before but on this world we were on day 30-something by the time he joined, so I had him drive us around on the motorcycle while following any bird nest ping, and I would hop out and grab it each time. By the end of the session we ended up collecting a little under 4 stacks of eggs, more than we’d ever need. Then he went off to actually play the game. In hindsight he didn’t technically need me there since until he crafted an arrow, he could’ve put any feathers he got in the motorcycle (or thrown them on the ground) to continue getting the pings. *Also* in hindsight I could have just gone to the snowy forest alone because the nest visibility against the white snow is just about as good as the tutorial pings.
that shit at 19:12 happend to me in a tier 5 tower poi and several lower pois hopefully they fix that shit soon cause its annoying when your going along in a poi and theres a 3x3 hole in the middle of it
Yeah. The whole learn-by-books system is kinda limiting on other aspects. You HAVE to loot tons of pois in order to get any kind of progress. If you want to play your own way it's almost impossible now.
@@matthewmorgan582 You can Min-Max your books by not put in points in crafting/tools skills not related to your favorite build, because some books have The same loot table so You limit yourself by getting other books.
@elpaezontube Again, you're forced to play that way if you want to progress faster. New players don't know this. It makes the game too grindy, in my opinion. It's less of a survival game and more a book hunt now. I have 600 hours on the game, and I don't like the new release as much.
I tried to keep my game stage down - I'm on day 20 and seen my first radiated zombie and my first feral Wight. That feral Wight is no joke. But anyhow it appears as though you're going to start seeing those right around day 20 or so - maybe a few days earlier or a few days later. That's what I was getting the last couple of Alphas. At least I avoid that damn day 14 horde I got last time which was just awful with cops and big mommas. You're not ready for a horde like that on day 14 unless you know what you're doing.
It's one of those situations where you end up with a collection of magically enchanted hats to swap around based on what you're doing. Trading? Ranger hat with a cigar. Looting the final room of a PoI? Rogue Hood. Farming? Several pieces of the Farmer set are required if you don't want to get screwed. Find a place with lots of wrenchable items? Better wear some Scavenger pieces. Etc.
Wait till you do some of the T6's you will like them there are tons of zombies especially in the new T5 school and new T5 army camp think it is called Army Base 7.
Book system is kinda grindy. Don't really like it. They say that putting points into a skill can increase your chance of getting specific books that you might be looking for, however, I've never seen a difference. Seriously, I've put all my points into daggers or spears, and I don't ever see any real increase in drops. I prefer a method for gathering and crafting specific books as opposed to running around and hoping you find them in specific locations. You can spend days and days hunting for books and never finding what you are looking for. I despise random drop chances. It's a lazy designer's way of rewarding players.
I preferred Learn by Doing, but to be fair, when you put points in Advanced Engineering, and Lockpicking, then go loot trader workstations, you vastly improve your odds at pulling Forge Ahead magazines.
i think the pimps boosted the armor books because that is what this update is all about armor , pretty sure thy gone nerf it . still saying the old set up armor' clothing is the best , if full maxed on mods and skills . no need to switch between sets to farm , mine , sell, buy just a switch of your glasses . love the content , love the channel , love the creator . f the un'fun'pimps console need a free update for the owners of the console edition it is discrimination of a part of the consumer base . f 25 % DISCOUNT
I liked keeping my style separate from how I play. Save that for armor mods and attribute points. It’s also gonna affect how we watch some of our favorite RU-vidrs who do more multiplayer style vids (Neebs) where we’re used to seeing the other characters often. Can new armor be painted still??
Harvest challenges don't seem to be working for me. I track and harvest items with multiple tools but no matter what I do the challenge doesn't advance.
Yeah brian is right, you always have to go to the latest progressed trader in order to get the new opening trade routes. Unlocking Tier 3 route = Jen, Unlocking Tier 4 route = Bob and so on. Once you have done this, you should be able to get Tier 3, 4, etc. Quests from everyone then.
The air drops are trash. You get a crafting magazine bundle, a mod bundle, a drink and stuff like three baked potatos. By the time you bike to where they drop you could have raided multiple POI's a gotten more good stuff than that.
I think the air drops are mid, but I let them sit there until a job takes me in that direction. I generally think Buried Supply quests are worthless, unless you need clay. The time spent vs rewards received, you should just do a POI.
After the playthrough, have you considered doing new "build tutorials". Milk those new people/viewers for the new version, people will definitely researching for the best skills to put points into etc
this format of video is the most efficient way to make content for this game because it takes almost no effort and has very high % for some reason. So no.
@IzPrebuilt That's understandable. I wasn't sure if the tutorial videos did well or not, if not worth the time and effort, no point in doing them like you said!
Not sure what TFP were thinking with the various changes with traders. The update feels like a major slap to group/community game play, since no one besides the owner of a quest gets the trader progression and frankly the rewards are just bad. The only thing 1.0 has does is sap away the fun and replaced it with grind, grind, grind. *sigh*
That's pretty much every update I've played so far. Game mechanics change, more grind. Right now I'm stuck with getting cooking mags and almost nothing else. Got 120+ cooking, 100 of everything else combined. And yes i put relevant skill points to get the rest....
Don't do T6s. The rewards are not worth fighting around like 600 rad bikers in total when doing just one T6 quest. Your reward is 1 legendary part and some dukes... Ass loot and no good reward.💀
The amount of complaining is making this a bit unwatchable....just seems like you are made to play a game you don't like or want to play but have to...lol
Brass = dukes. I get not keeping it on you when you're out and about (although free dukes?) but if you're 50 feet from the trader... In my experience, scavenging, especially with the armor and candy, is the best way to get quick cash. I made $25k in a day.
