Hunting Horn is INSANE Now - Best Endgame Build & Highest Damage - Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak! 

Now this....this is what I and other HH mains have been waiting for.

I use HH and hammer so I can’t wait to reach sun break for the new skills on these weapons 🥹

Today I realized that I had the perfect talisman to go with the first set. A Rarity 7 with Attack Boost 3 and Agitator 2. Because of that talisman, I don’t need any other Attack Jewels and instead have like, 3 extra open slots. So I’m going to get to more Agitator Jewels and one Handicraft for a bit more purple sharpness and extra attack and affinity. Thank you, Cotton! Without this video, I would’ve never realized how absolutely nutty I could get my damage.

Wow a lot of things sure are “INSANE” with this monster hunter channels aren’t they…? Not that I’m complaining it’s just kinda funny. Did Rage Gaming, team darkside and Arekkz gaming just decide they just gonna call everything insane?

I'm kinda surprised you didn't bring up the fact that the update made shockwave damage do elemental damage. It wasn't mentioned in the patch notes nor has a proper calc been done about how much it does, but it's now fact that elemental hh is now entirely valid.

I'm still not sure if I like the egg. It may be okay for solo hunts, where the monster targets just you, but in multiplayer, I find that the monster runs all over the place and it would be difficult to keep it in the range of the explosion.

I've actually been switching between three weapons since Sunbreak came out, my usual staple of Great Sword and Light Bowgun, and now the Hunting Horn. I've been having fun with it.

When Sunbreak came out, I got excited about Silkbind Shockwave and then...completely apprehensive when it came to that Silkbind Bloom. Mostly because the Egg sounded very much like the Bead of Resonance in it's description which back in base Rise was a humongous 'meh' to me. That said...gonna need to adjust me silkbinds now

i've never used Hunting Horn in World neither in Rise but after following your guide i've realized HH is such an fun weapon to use, it deals tons of damage and has cool looking moves !

Ok rundown, but some important things are missing for really maxing HH damage potential. For starters, Kamura isn't necessarily THE best choice. We could talk about what's the 'best' raw HH is (in which case there are several equal to or stronger than Kamura), but if you want best endgame damage overall that's a bit irrelevant because it's now much better to go elemental with HH anyway. You want full Dereliction/Chain Crit/Resentment, the usual blademaster skills, ideally sharpness skills to get to purple, Maestro, and Element Attack 5 to match the weapon (so the sets suggested are close, but not quite there). Grab Anja/Rakna, Mizu/Ludroth, Auroracanth, Narwa, and Shagaru/Vicello Black/Valstrax and swap them out depending on monster weaknesses. A lot of these have healing songs so Dereliction is 'free' Since a lot of these also don't have Attack Up, Bead of Resonance is actually very good now for raising your EFR by that much more.

Please do a Switch Axe build. I really love using it along with the Insect Glave. Keep up the great videos. Absolutely love your content!!!!!!!

To bad the Maximum Volume/Doot Range rampage deco doesn't effect the range of shockwaves

The set i generally use is Fine Kamura Flute Kaiser X Head Ingot X Chest Anjanath X Arms Rathalos X Waist Ingot X Legs I got some good luck on quirio crafting so i dont need any crit boost or wex jewels, this way i get: Atk boost lvl7 Critikal eye lvl7 Windproof lvl3 Crit boost lvl3 Weaknessexploit lvl3 Slugger lvl3 Staminathief lvl3 Speed sharpening lvl3 Horn Maestro And then some miscalsnious skills there is 1lvl of challanger and i could go up to lvl 3 but i prefer to slot in some defense boost for comfort, this is also why i dont use deriliction its not my cup of tea. This is just my Hammer set but with horn Maestro tagged on...

Haven't used anything but hunting horn since MH FU. While I love that it's finally gotten a lot of love with the new moveset and all, I think it's kind of a bummer how it went from a slow and heavy feeling weapon to a super fast one. Anyway I really like those builds.

Is an Talisman with: Speed Sharpening 3 Part Breaker 1 2x Level 2 Slots good too?

The new bead is mediocre at best... The range is too small, it uses twice as many bugs as Earth shaker does less damage, has mediocre KO damage, it's funny enough just about every time you placed it within a 4-minute period of your video, you were fucking hit. Not to mention using it with multiple hunters is damn near impossible until the monster is down. And even then if the monster is sleeping no guarantee that everyone will let you even get it down before they wake it.

I can now blame Cotton for turning me into a Hunting Horn Main. As soon as I figured it out, I found myself doing a lot more damage than I realized, and this was while not even midmaxing my overall build quite yet. Thank you kindly for turning me from a "Three Main Weapons" user to Four. HH will go nicely with LS, Lance, and I will have to debate on Hammer now.

... you know what, this video made me realize I've been sleeping on the egg as a HH main. Always was like "i'm never going to keep a monster close enough to benefit from this attack."

I have a 3 wirebug whisperer 1 horn maestro and a 2 slot charm that I've been thinking about using for hunting horn. And after watching this it sounds like it might not be a bad idea lol

So I noticed this on the GS videos as well, did you forget to include in the math parts the attack talon & charm in inventory? That would make it +15 raw

Yay a non Greatsword build...Josh isn't here right? Jokes aside I always try the builds you guys make and the having a three version structure makes me happy because still not perfect at Hunting horn or Greatsword and extra defensive is nice

Personally, I like the Banabra Horn... Only White Sharpness sadly, but having Health Regeneration (L) and Earplugs (L) feels super nice. Unfortunately, Rampage Weapons don't get a Rarity 10 upgrade, so I don't get to have my Health Recovery anymore...

I can just imagine a support HH still just pumping out damage while spamming heal song.

Such an awesome build. Making the use of soundwave blasts for extra damage. It's made hunting so much more fun. Everyone else is either DS, LS, LBG or HBG. I'm glad HH has gotten the boost it needs.

I followed this build, but replaced stun resistance with defense boost. one of my main HH is the gore magala one so I also don't really have a need for speed sharpening. this works! thank you!

You're sleeping on lungarons horn if you go elemental hunting horn. That and in multiplayer the sharpness regen, stamina regen, and element boost are god tier in coop hunts.

I usually just do the most healing horn which in sunbreak i LITERALLY just Mizutsune that I can see. It's the only one with a heal (L) song. And I use bead of resonance do double the heals. I've saved tons of hunters that were grappled and kept allies in the fight. But yeah solo hunting is ROUGH that way.

Hunting horn became one of my main weapons at the tail end of MH world and was my main in both rise and sunbrake and am having a blast so far. The build I'm using is the Rosengitarre hunting horn, Auroracanth head, Barroth Mail X, Lunagaron braces, Anjanath Coil, Golm Greaves, Absolute petalace & a talisman with Wirebug Whisperer Lv 3 & Flinch Free Lv 1 along with a 3 slot & a 2 slot. With all my decorations slotted in This gives me 7 Attack boost, 7 Defense boost, 5 Agitator, 3 Wirebug Whisperer, 3 Slugger, 3 Stamina Thief, 3 Divine Blessing, 3 Free meal, 2 Master's Touch, 2 Muck Resistance, 1 Horn Maestro, 1 Flinch Free & 1 Charge Master. The Switch Skills I'm running are Melodic Slap, Melody Mode: Performance & Swing Combo on both scrolls. Sonic Bloom, Slide Beat on my Red Scroll & Bead of resonance, Silkbind shockwave on my blue scroll. It might not be the best build but I found it to be quite comfortable & fun to use. :)

No mention of Scorned Magna HH and Furious Rajang HH? Pretty sure Scorned Magna HH is far superior to Kamura HH, and it's hard to get better offensive songs (and raw stats) than Furious Rajang HH all things considered.

I can land 1200 damage with the Sonic Bloom while using Gaismagorm Hunting Horn, it's amazing!

I can get almost get 1200 out of my bloom. I use archfeind minus helm. Use scorned magnamalo helm for coalescence. Slotted in magnamalo soul for rage. My skills Defense boost 5 Attack boost 4 Hellfire cloak 4 Resentment 3 Weakness exploit 3 Dereliction 3 Chain crit 3 Crit boost 2 Handicraft 2 Evade extender 2 Wirebug whisperer 2 Coalecence 2 Horn maestro Redirection 1 Devils lute horn Got lucky on my tali. Evade extender 2 wirebug whisperer 2 2 2 slot. I find this set really works well and hella fun to use. Not saying this is the best setup, but having decent rage slots can also make or break a horn.

I will say using a rotation of Bead of Resonance> note combo> Magnificent Trio> Silkbind Shockwave> note combo> Sonic Bloom> Magnificent Trio is unnaturally satisfying lol. And of course Infernal Melody as available.

i find the egg not that great, you place it, the monster need to be in range which on some monsters wont work as they run often around and you need to play music. yes youre horn, but i say this because mostly you dont play "in the air" for nothing. you wanna combine and hit You, yourself also need to stay in range so youre bound to a point or the egg pops for nothing. waiting for a diablos to run by, is/could be a dps loss since you "wait". diablos maybe here a bad example but there are sure times you stayed and wait some seconds that the monster closes the gap to the egg. try to play "around" the egg area wont work also since monster tend to run around hitting you and the range you can leave the egg is not that big. if you have a huge monster to fight which can also push you out of it. monster that stays near you, are slower and have long "stand " time (Rathian, Rathalos,...) can work better but if monsters are like this, hitting earth shaker is also not a big issue earth shaker on the counterside may not be as frequently used but when used you mostly know when the monster is "free" for an earthshaker the more frequently you use the egg the more you also shoot it in the air wait maybe that the monster comes or place it for nothing. if the area of the egg would be doubled or you wont need to be in certain range, it would be more useful as seen in your video, you got hit because animation lock, which is a bit funny since you say at 1:33 that the earth shaker leaves you open for attacks. when you place the egg youre also open for attacks because of animation which is seen in your video too. and placing the egg also stops you from attacking. you cant "spam" earthshaker, as you also shouldnt spam the egg. both are moves that depends on "the monster shouldnt move now" or "the monster is trapped here" or "i know that move, from the side im safe" or "it is paralysed, sleep, stunned...." for me, since my play style is more agressive , you run to much around and it sometimes seen that you care more for the egg. you mostly lay the egg down and get hit afterwards which leads to sheat the weapon and drink- but thats just my opinion and could be coinsidence so please dont feel attacked reading this. dont mean it in a bad behavior^^ the only thing i found the egg stronger is when monster sleeps for the big damage (example the cat use sleep toad or having someone with sleep with you) so switch to the other roll to use the egg for wake up would be very strong since the explosion is also wider than the earth shaker, which makes the combination of egg+barrel bombs very good it looks very cool seeing you play it but most points you said can also said/happen for earth shaker. that the earth shaker is sharpness depending on the first hit sucks, hate that too. but for me that the only negative part for the earth shaker for now. sorry for the big text, but discussing stuff in MH is always great, always hearing/learning new stuff from people :D. and if i search for a build im always needy for input and opinions. and your video helped great to understand stuff :D

I really wish we could layer over the kamura horn like we could the rampage horns but I guess we can't have it all.

Horns with sharpness regen is a huge factor for multiplayer I think.

With the rampage skill being a deco slot now I've been having a ton of fun running buddy rally with horn. Lol.

I tried using the silk move that echos every melody. I combined it with raging rajang’s horn which echos every shockwave. Pretty good for KO’s but honestly I still prefer earthshaker tbh

NGL I feel so much more powerful with a elemental horn build, is this just my bias for wanting to tailer elemental weaknesses?

Does Chain Crit affect Status Atk build up? It says in menu that my "Element" is Sleep. I'm using Somnacanth HH and Sleep + Sonic bloom is the lols

I tried HH for the very first time yesterday and I'm not sure I understand the weapon yet so maybe someone here can help me... I beat the shit out of the monster and get buffed by doing so more or less automatically just by pressing the 3 attack buttons and sometimes that combo that pops up after I played all 3 songs, is that right?

The egg has huge range. It's about 5-6 rolls of distance which is huge. It is also the same with ur song buffs

If there is anyway to get only chain crit 1 and some other stats as a replacement you should take those, chain crit sadly loses very much efficiency after level 1. If you wanna know how much there is a vid from someone testing that!

I was running a full valstrax armor, this set is way better. I still prefer the HH from Iceborne but the change is not bad at all

Question, since I can't test it myself atm. To pop the egg you play three songs, with Performance you can simply swing, but for the Echo playstyle, if you have 3 songs queued and play them all at once, does that also pop it?

I mained SnS cause I can use items without sheathing. I would use Powders to buff and heal also quickly use flash bombs. I am now really interested in the Horn and will now start using it to be an even better assist player.
