Not sure if you’ll see this, but this channel has the most helpful comments I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen any other RU-vid channel get the amount of proper help from comments you have. Another actual + is you see them all, allowing people to continue wanting to help you. I really look forward to watching this series, and watching your channel grow! I will do very occasional edits for long load screens or long travels paddling the lifeboat in Stranded Deep. But nothing that will make you have to re-orientate....that’s the goal.

When you talked about being social, it reminds me of our campus SRO officer (I'm a teacher at a high school). He talks to my Criminal Justice classes all the time. He spoke of how he loves interacting with people and how he hasn't had to shoot anyone in his almost 20 years because he has an ability to talk to people. He said, in all but a few instances, the perpetrator he arrested thanked him, which caught my attention. Mesa, AZ has some tough areas and it's a big city.

My favorite handgun was a 6in Python. Sadly, I traded it for a high-end hot water heater. Building a home and raising kids, sometimes ya gotta do, what ya gotta do. My favorite episode was when you shot a bear and waited him out in a car. When you went to skin him he was only sleeping:)

You've been such a consistent part of my routine for so long, and I've always looked forward to an Accurize night, it feels complete when you upload and I even played my 1 day old son a video the first night home from the hospital. I've really been loving the frequent uploads lately. There was an video a few months back on your old TLD series where you were pretty bummed out with the state of the world and I'm glad your feeling better and feeling good about the channel. Interesting story about the Blackbird. My dad had a cousin who was stationed at an Air Force Base in Texas. He told us of a time when something showed up on the radar and soon after making contact the pilot requested clearance to 80,000 ft. The air traffic controller said " if you're able to do that you have my clearance". The pilot responded" Roger that. Descending to 80,000 ft".

BTW, Accurize, there's a whole section of the map up on the ridge where the Hunting Lodge is that you missed, which is almost guaranteed to have several saplings in it. I'm guessing you may not have known it's there? I've seen some other TLD vets who are completely unaware of that area, as I think it was added in in one of the updates last year and the habit of just ignoring certain areas I guess dies hard for many vets who just assume there's nothing there because there was nothing there the last time they went there and looked. There's definitely more map though and it's definitely worth a look. You'd also need to find that area if you were ever to go for the faithful cartographer achievement as there's a named location back in there.

You can also build a campfire anywhere in the shop where it fits, including that office with the bed. The game considers it an outdoor space - it's one of those few buildings that doesn't have a loading screen when you enter so you basically are still outdoors as far as the game is concerned. A campfire isn't usually necessary, but it does raise the temperature in the area, especially the office, where you can comfortably remove clothing to dry them by the fire. Building a campfire next to the forge is a good way to make water and cook while you use the forge for crafting. One of my biggest gripes about this game. In good weather, blood trails and tracks in the snow DO NOT vanish! The animal can stop bleeding but it still leaves tracks. The "Alice" radar and communications sites (more than a few dozen) were scattered along the Arctic coast of Alaska and Canada. No doubt the Soviet Union had their counterpart systems. The military usually attaches a designation to it's equipment, like AN/SLQ - ####. The Alice was probably something like (just guessing here) AN/ALS or ALC (Arctic Long-range Communications) and so the name "Alice". An example is the AN/SLQ family of electronic defense equipment are dubbed "Slick-###" by those who operate the equipment. The Alice systems were used mostly as an early warning system during the cold war, before satellite communications and imaging took over the job. The main reason they were located in these regions is because radio waves, especially microwave (radar frequencies above 1 gigahertz) tend to reflect off the troposphere more reliably at the poles. This gave the radar and communication signals far more range - beyond the horizon and "line of sight", allowing the detection of missile launches over the Soviet north coast. Most have had the equipment removed and buildings have been abandoned, but a few have been repurposed to monitor real time weather conditions over the Arctic Circle. A few of them study the effects of solar CMEs at the poles as a secondary purpose.

Loving the series so far! Never had any family at the WACS (White Alice Communications System) sights up in Alaska. Had a great-grandfather who was SF at Cheyenne Mountain in Wyoming. My wife's grandmother also worked at Lockheed during the building of the A-12 OXCART (CIA) and SR-71 (USAF). She had 2 masters degrees in aeronautical engineering and astrophysics and helped design the A-12 and SR-71. There's still things that she says are classified and will most likely never be released. She settled down outside Dobbins ARB in GA (home of Lockheed). Also wanted to give a thanks to you for putting your life on the line everyday as a LEO. Both my wife and I are AD MIL, and we can't thank you enough for your sacrifices. I hope the 12hr shifts slow down over the next few months. Stay safe in the good ol' Buckeye State. If you're wondering which boxes, it's the crates up on the high shelving by the garage doors. You have to climb up a plank or something to get at them. There's 3 or 4 of them stacked up there and one of them can have good loot, the others can sometimes have bits of food or something in them too, and may need to be smashed up to just get them out of the way.

I don’t wanna scold you, but you should definitely let the wolf get closer before taking a shot. They straighten out when they get close to you and leave their head wide open, something 1 revolver shot can handle with ease. Love the series though! :D

Ok, so about doing things when it is dark (I've tested and tweaked around and have a pretty clear idea of how the game mechanics work in this specific area): Things you can do when it's dark inside: break down curtains/crates and clothes including shoes with your own hands, make newspapers/stack of papers and twigs into tinder, make medicine (reishi mushroom/rose hips/birch bark/old man's beard). Things you can NOT do when it's dark: read books, use a workbench, break down curtains/crates with tools (hatchet/hacksaw/knife etc.), sew/repair clothing. A couple of things you CAN do: If it's a clear night, it counts as daylight, enabling you to e.g. read inside a car/cave (be aware of the indoor/outdoor-zone of the cave and where you are regarding these). As far as I know there are no limitations in things you can do outside during nighttime (including in the outside zone of a cave, but not including inside cars it its pitch black foggy, for example). Her comes the interesting part though: Daytime starts when the sun is halfway over the horizon-line on your time-"compass" (does it have a name?). So even if it is pitch-black indoors at this hour, it still counts as day, and the limitations are lifted (aka you can sew again). Nighttime starts when the sun is no longer visible in the time-"compass", so you can mend until then. Sometimes the game allows you to finish a project if it is above a certain percent without interrupting, I haven't fully found out what percentage this is yet). So yeah, there is a system to this. Hope it helps in the future! Love the series, although I'm 2 months behind schedule! Hopefully my likes still help. Check out the subreddit for the game, lots of cool stuff there, and the game also has a wiki, a quick google-search will bring you right to the page. Also there are player made maps available for the new regions. I found them extremely helpful during my Ash Canyon exploring. Happy gaming everyone! :)

I’ve started watching you last week after finding this game in my PS4 library. I had maybe one try saved from 2019 and gave up I guess. First episode i could tell you were a police officer. You are just a humble person. I'm british but watch loads of American police programs. They used to have in game maps, but they changed it so you have to fill the map in yourself. Honestly that just made maps kind of useless... It takes too much time and effort to map out each region, and the only people that really fill out the maps don't need them, because they have spent so much time in the game. At the same time not having premade maps is a more realistic survival situation. That's just how I see it anyway.

White Alice, I don't know that it was a radar line per say, but it definitely provided military communications through-out the entire state of alaska. My dad was a communications maintainer in the USAF in the late 50's early 60's on them up here.

That moose spawns there from time to time up at the hunters lodge , if you have the time bring you rifle with you , knock him down , you will have food for days while you wait for his hide to cure , and than you can have your moose hide satchel...by the way love the series , can't wait for the next one..

So, before I get too into the video: I was recently introduced to your videos through just recommended videos on RU-vid...this vid, but I decided to go back to the 1st Ep in this series. I can say it has been more than worth it. I've never looked seriously into playing the Long Dark, but due to you, I gave it a shot on a friends Steam account and now am hoping for it to go on sale so I can get it myself. You earned yourself a sub. Keep up the amazing work!

Im new to your channel, but iv downloaded this Playlist upto about episode 40 or so. watch them at work, when there's down time and for about 20 minutes before bed. really got me wanting to get the long dark. also got way of the hunter playlist qued to download too. last good hunting I found and played was cabelas big game hunter from 2012 on the wii...

I've learned so much from watching these videos and readin the comments. I'm still too much of a coward to play on anything but pilgrim, but at least I'm a better survivor than I used to be :)

Regarding the windows, I actually experimented with that by throwing rocks through the window and I think Hinterland must have changed that in a recent update, maybe the one that allowed wolves to go through open gates, because now the rocks actually do go through the windows in the semi-outdoor part of the maintenance yard. Strange how it's worked out that both our games ended up converging on the same location like that. I'm pretty much done my exploration of BR though, with just waiting on a few things to finish curing before I'm moving on to probably Hushed River Valley and finally Bleak Inlet.

I think this is about the best location for moose because of the 6 top oven in the lodge. Makes for easy cooking skill levels if you harvest .1 kg/lbs pieces of the moose.

The cardboard box up by the garage door accessed by walking up the planks. There are three of them and one of the three is by itself. I have found box of rifle ammo under it more than once.

Hey a tip i learned recently for finding the wolf/deer/whatever you kill that runs off and you cant find the trail is to survey they area near where you lost the tracks. If you can get high up and still be nearby that's a plus. Much easier than searching for crows IMO.

Yeah. Unfortunately where we are is the high spot...and it’s view is blocked by a ton of trees.
