Hunting Permission Farms, HOW TO Acquire Them & Where To Start #hunting #deerhunting #bowhunting
On this week's episode of Midwest Whitetail, we kick things off with lead editor Gavin Koterba who updates us on his progress with Chasing November Season 9. The team had a great season in 2023, possibly our best, and he has had his nose on the grindstone getting that ready for the August release. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Chasing November Season 8 playlist at the link below!
• Chasing November | Sea...
Kaleb Greiner then takes us through how he approaches bowhunting permission farms in the start of a three part series that will take place over the coming months. In part 1, Kaleb goes over how he obtains permission to hunt on a landowners property, his tactics for scouting after gaining permission to bow hunt, how he runs cameras during the offseason to gain information that will be applicable during the hunting season, as well as a variety of other tactics and tricks that he has learned through the years bowhunting permission farms. We then head to Owen Reigler who has so far kept up with his promise of shooting 20 minutes every day. Owen takes us through two extremely useful archery tips that can help you hone in and become a better archer. We thank you all for the support and hope that you enjoy this week's episode!

Passionate is a perfect word to describe Kaleb when it comes to all things whitetail. You won't find many people who have it on there mind as much as he does. If we know one thing, it's that Kaleb will grind his tail off to make it happen come this fall! Thank you for taking the time to watch and we appreciate your support!

Super excited to see Season 9 of Chasing November reach completion Gavin. It's been a pleasure to watch the process behind the scenes and it's safe to say I think everyone is going to thoroughly enjoy it. Great tips Kaleb and while not everyone hunts in Iowa, I think there's info for anyone to walk away with to help them potentially. Keep shooting Owen!

Great episode. Super excited for Kaleb’s series on permission. Personally fits my style of hunting. And hearing Owen talk about shooting is always educational and something most people don’t take serious enough. Also Owen are you shooting a heavier arrow this year? If you are, would love to hear why.

Great tips Kaleb and Owen. Permission property is such a bitter sweet deal. You better take advantage while you have it and keep your details quiet if you want to keep it haha. I am losing two pieces this season due to the success I have had on them and other people deciding they want to hunt. But, thankfully I have picked up another piece that is even better! I use the same approach as Kaleb as far as smaller, less desirable pieces and have had great luck knocking on doors and mailing letters. Can't wait for part 2!
@KalebGreiner
@KalebGreiner Месяц назад
Right on Ben! Sad to hear that happened to you this year. So far I have lost one as well due to younger hunters getting into archery and needing a spot to go. It kind of sucks losing permission but its really nice to see younger generations getting out there instead of being a menace to society these days. Hope you aren't melting yet down south! Thanks for watching this week 👊🏼

I remember i went around to probably 12 different farms/woods property and got denied. Lucky i still have a small 15 acre land i hunt along with another 6 acre, just wish i could get on something bigger!

Right on @alexisgrindle1155 ! Keep hammering the pavement and asking permission. Took me a while to get a system down but I’ve mentioned a few other tips in prior videos you could apply to your approach if you’re having a rough go at it. Thanks for watching 👊🏼

@KalebGreiner
@KalebGreiner 22 дня назад
@steadyfishing384 thanks for watching man! I see the point that you’re trying to make but that’s simply just not the case. Out of all the farms I’ve gained permission on since I was a young pup I’ve never had a piece where I’m the only person that gets to hunt it. Every piece has 1-3 other bow hunters and 5 shotgun groups that go through it. If you’re striking out getting permission maybe change your approach with it and stay positive! Plenty of landowners out there willing to give it out, it’s just a numbers game! But hey that’s just my experience over the years, it could be different than yours. Thanks again for watching brother 👊🏼

Things must be different in the mid west because nobody is giving permission to hunt in the south! It’s all about the money here…that’s what trophy hunting and hunting videos have done for us.

@Huntnfish74916

@@sub10Bowhuntingyeah we’ve been doing that for decades. About ten years ago is when the door slammed in our face and the price of leasing land went up significantly. Once deer, mainly big bucks, had a huge price tag put on their head hunting for them became a very expensive hobby. No matter how much they want to deny it social media hunters have destroyed the chance for the majority of hunters out here to have decent access to hunting land. If you don’t have the money then you better have access to public land.
@KalebGreiner
@KalebGreiner Месяц назад
@Huntnfish74916 Hey man! I see your point on leasing, I too have noticed a slight increase here in the midwest. I've actually lost permission on a couple pieces due to leasing. Not too long ago I did a video on how i gain permission by going above and beyond the normal guy. I've never paid a dime to hunt a property, instead I use programs offered through the nrcs for landowners to be compensated for improving the habitat of the farm. For example, I approach the owner about gaining access to hunt their ground, in return the landowner will be compensated after I complete projects that fall under EQIP like; TSI, Brush Removal, Honeysuckle Removal, tree planting, etc. I've never met anyone else that does that but its very affective and its a big part of how I separate myself from the average guy that's going to door knock. Give it a shot!
