Hunting Tigers in Africa

It's the 24th of April 1943 on the sun-swept steppes of Tunisia.
Explosions rock the earth as the men of the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters take cover in their meager trenches.
The Germans have them under fire and just 300 yards away a Panzer squadron in a hull down position fires upon the allied positions.
At the head of the panzer squadron is a fearsome beast. Even its name is whispered by the Allies. It’s a Tiger. Armed with a powerful 88mm gun and incredible armor they are the flagship of the German War Machine.
How is it possible to destroy or even capture such an epic machine? They inflict dread in even the best of tankers, let alone a battalion of infantry with just PIATs at their disposal. In a rush a few men run for an abandoned enemy position. There they find an abandoned Pak 97/38. They heave the gun around to face the oncoming threat and scavenge as much ammunition as they can.
Inside the Tiger the crew are under strict instructions not to let their tank fall into enemy hands. Even going so far to equip Tigers with charges to blow up the tank in the event of capture. So for the allies even taking one out is a colossal undertaking. Let alone capturing a tiger with its fangs and claws intact.
We take you through the events of that day and how exactly the allies managed to get their hands on the peak of Germany’s tank technology at the time.
Thank you very much to the Tank Museum @thetankmuseum for helping us with the script and allowing us to use the photos in this film. Any errors are our own. You can see the legendary Tiger 131 in action: tankmuseum.org/events

To travel Portsmouth to see HMS Victory and go to Wool, England and visit the Tank Museum, and especially Tiger and WW1 tanks. In conclusion, absolutely brilliant job doing this video and thank you to the tank museum for supporting this video and their endeavour.

Brilliant as always. Ive been watching since the beginning when the story of the Brown/Stiegler incident left me in tears. Since then you've taught me a lot of history, but not only history; you've shown that the "enemy", whoever we consider that to be, consists of human beings struggling through the nightmare of war, just like ourselves. You've illuminated moments of incredible courage, terrible violence and destruction, and most importantly, occasions of unexpected mercy, compassion and humanity. In a world darkened by greed, deception, and cowardice, you are a light showing us a higher road. Thank you, everyone at Yarnhub, for teaching us not just history, but also how to be.

The story of the island of Malta GC during WW2 would be a goldmine for you guys. One Spitfire pilot, George 'Screwball' Beurling of 249 (Gold Coast) Squadron based at RAF Ta Qali managed to take down a BF109 in Spitfire Mk Vb tropical EP706 at a range of 800 yards in a climbing turn. A feat that was never bettered. Wing Commander Adrian Warburton, his amazing skills as a pr pilot on the island made him a legend, there are the stories of the 3 Gloster Gladiators Faith, Hope and Charity, Operation Pedestal, HMS/S Upholder and so many more tales of heroism from the George Cross island

Absolutely stunning! Can’t believe how far the animation quality has gotten over the last 3 or so years I’ve been watching the channel! Another great video! Plus, I love the GoPro style footage of the German soldier. Keep up the great work guys!

Tiger 131 arguably the world's most famous tank. Good to see her complete story in action. I never knew she got a confirmed kill on a Churchill. I did know she was abandoned due to the shot trap of her barrel (one in a million shot) disabling/jamming the turret ring, you guys animated that well! You can still see that damage to this day.

Poor guys those in the hit Churchill...I wonder if any of the crew made it safely out of the burning tank.

It's amazing to see an animated story about Tiger 131 using all of the information that we now have explaining how this monster came to be where it is now.

@@andrewcarlson3486 Allegedly, the German WWII Panzer Veterans Association DO know who the crew were, but are so ashamed of their actions in not destroying Tiger 131 as they were required to do, that they have refused to reveal their names because of the disgrace. They have become "unmentionables" and as far as the Association is concerned, are not worthy of their names being disclosed.

When this channel/Yarnhub posts 😲🤗, I stop what I am doing & put my feet up and sit down to some of the best content & history tales on RU-vid you can find 🥰. So well done and put together, it really makes such entertaining and informative viewing. Such a breath of fresh air compared to some of the scary stuff you can see on RU-vid. Long may the channel reign.

Its hard to give credit to the story itself when the animations are so overwhelmingly good for just an historic representation. Nice job!
