Josh Lemoi takes his bird dog Scout out on Pennsylvania's opening day of pheasant. Scout is a Deutsch Drahthaar and is an excellent bird dog. We are hunting public ground in Lycoming County PA. At one time, Scout had one of the highest testing scores in North America.

Hey John! Great dog there. A good dog makes all the difference. All credit goes to the dog, I probably wouldn’t even hunt pheasant anymore if I didn’t have my dogs, so much fun watching them work a bird. A got some good video clips so far for this season. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome Scott! I don't do much pheasant hunting but my brother-in-law Josh is a diehard. He loves bird hunting. From what I see you are right and a good dog is key.

Why let your dog run in to shot? Have you considered training him ?

Cmon man 🤦‍♂️. It’s DEUTSCH, not “DUTCH”. I get it if you no longer care if he sits and delivers but why give him a command to sit and then not enforce it?
