On the Grand Strand coastline, Huntington Beach State Park is an escape from "main" Myrtle with beautiful trees and endless picnic spots, nature trails, gorgeous ocean views (and easily walkable paths to get there), playgrounds, and an awesome Nature Center. We also checked out National Historic Landmark, Atalaya, the winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. We pitched a tent for a staycation weekend and had the best time. We got to to see a breathtaking sunsets, get up close and personal with a gator, wake up to an intense storm, and make some great memories.
