The young bjp lady, when asked about pm's recent speech said muslims should be asked why they are laging behind in progress inspite of the resources being allocated to them, yet when asked the very same question about South tax payers money being wasted in states like up and Bihar, says it's allocation of resources to those who need it! I am from Tamil Nadu and saying that the North-South divide is a Congress gambit is baseless. It is very real and has been felt in TN almost since the beginning. This has become more marked since 2014 as we have felt BJP's anti-Tamil bias.

I am not a newslaudry spokesperson but to all those who are blaming Manisha for not pushing back against the BJP and JDS spokesperson, I would just like to say that newslaudry is also a media outlet and they are not only critiquing other media outlets but also practicing journalism and sometimes interviews like these are an eye opener with respect to understanding the mind set of people who support different political ideologies. Pushing back, cross questioning is good on a TV panel but this is clearly an attempt to gauge the mood of the nation. A pushback would be futile. So please have an open mind and appreciate that this kind of engagement is still important!

This was a very interesting conversation. The biggest takeaway I got from this was the failure of media. A lot of time was spent discussing the merits of setting the political narrative by playing to the emotions of people while not focusing on the facts. This is the place where the media should have picked up educating the lay person but unfortunately they have completely failed the nation. One example which stood out where Sugata said congress doing fact checking instead of setting the narrative felt a bit disingenuous when you factor in the huge media propaganda campaign is being led everyday. Surabhi being the BJP spokeperson was excellent at skirting the actual questions and I feel even in a conversation the panelists could have done a better job at countering them.

Newslaundry it’s time to give up Congress bashing. I get that you need to appear balanced and all ,but the INC is doing a good job and being led ably. There’s nothing to be done about incidents like Indore and Surat! No party is funding you! So what’s your problem!!???

Rahul Gandhi released a fake video in Telugana that BJP - Amit Shah promising to cancel the reservation of SC/ST/OBC and gave wide coverage in all villages. Karnataka and Teugana gave 15% Muslim reservation which is a loss to SC/ST/OBC groups. To counter the fake message, the BJP had to hit back with the hardest and convincing argument Thus the allegation was made that Mangalsutra would be taken back and given to Congress's vote bank specified by Dr MMS. The allegation is true when Sam Pitroda supplemented the argument with 55% inheritance tax. In Kerala, CPM experimented with the idea. CPM confiscated the land of landowners and distributed it in small pieces. Kerala is now in a debt crisis. There is ZERO agriculture, manufacturing, higher education , health and infrastructure in Kerala. So the experiment failed miserably. BTW, when we study which community is now holding these landpieces, Modi's allegation has come true.
