Papyrus museum, pyramid of Giza, Luxor, Abu Simbel are not in Hurghada and a day trip is long and exhausting. Trips are not worth the money, and beware of scams, as there are plenty around. Remember there is NO history in Hurghada as this city was and is developing only for tourist. So is it worthwhile for holidays in Hurghada? If you like to relax in a good beach hotel, mostly All-inclusive...YES, besides this there a better places to visit and experience different things...and this is from a guy living most of the year in Hurghada, and was an hotel professional over 50 years. But the video is good for commercial.
Yes, its like 5 hours with a bus, but its doable. You can do 1 day trip - you have to get up early go to Cairo and the Pyramids and you will be back in Hurghada in the evening - its about 16 hours trip.
