Hurricane Beryl has come ashore in Mexico as a Category 2 storm, pelting the Yucatan Peninsula with winds over 110 miles per hour. CBS News correspondent Janet Shamlian has more from South Padre Island on the Texas Gulf Coast where locals are also reckoning with shark attacks as they prepare for Beryl's potential impact.

I had S Padre on my list to go to in the near future. But if they have a shark problem and that beach doesn't look very scenic, maybe I'll pass. I was more impressed with Galveston than that.

She said “hundreds of people out here already early this morning”. It doesn’t have to mean right at that moment. She would have been out there for quite a while setting up the shot and people would have passed by, out of view of the camera by then. Plus, the camera didn’t pan the other direction. So it’s not some fake report. The media does hype things sometimes - like a corporate entity - but this wasn’t bad.
