However, the storm disrupted power lines disrupted and uprooted trees. Jamaica and the Cayman Islands are now bracing for the hurricane’s impact. Beryl strengthened into a top-level category 5 storm after hitting the islands. The NHC has said that Beryl is the second category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic after Emily in 2005. It is also the earliest category 5 storm in the Atlantic on record.
