Sir, I was watching your video, and heard your comments about neighbors helping neighbors and all of the generosity of the donations you showed at the BP gas station. You made it a point to mention “not FEMA” to emphasizes that people had donated food, toys and clothing, etc. Well, THIS is what we are supposed to do - help each other, especially in times of crises. What you need to do is educate about FEMA and what they actually do in cases of disasters. When you see roads being cleared and rebuilt, even if it is a one-lane road, it takes millions of dollars and logistics to rebuilt. Also, it takes a lot of time. Another thing is that we have a number of conservative beings, especially, in North Carolina who have been preaching about “big government” and the federal government interfering in their business. The very people who supported #45 in getting elected should recall that he diverted funds FROM FEMA to try and build that wall south of Texas. So, when you claim that you don’t want to be political, that is exactly what you are doing by taunting that you don’t see FEMA. You ain’t have to see or identify them because they are there and are not trying to post grand billboards to be seen or heard. There are people there who are helping the devastated areas, and there were a lot more areas than those you could travel by foot in tiny towns. So, why not merely document the devastation for others to see and keep the political commentary to the more informed!

I read that FEMA officials were threatened because of misinformation so they went undercover for a while. I have seen a lot of videos with FEMA workers and soldiers doing humanitarian work. They also doing rescue and have medical teams and They help people register for future economic support, pay for hotel rooms and shelters for displaced people. So nice that the church has resources enough to support local people where you are.

I'd be reluctant to move back in, personally, ( If I owned a house there ) but having lived in Asheville since the mid 90's, I am very used to slumlords and dilapidated rentals, so as a renter I'd probably have no problem moving into one of those homes after it was repaired

FEMA had to many disasters they were spread thin. Working where it was the worst. They do have an app and a phone # to use to file a claim.

@@Melissa-pt2ik I used to live in the mountains in North Carolina and mold and mildew is definitely a big problem in a normal climate there and when you flood everything you're absolutely right the mold is going to be insane and the respiratory illnesses that come up from this are going to go unspoken but they'll definitely be an issue

Samaritan’s Purse is amazing as are all the people that are digging in and helping! FEMA, well, they are a government entity so not quite as great as everyone else.
@pantherblu3826
@pantherblu3826 12 часов назад
Samaritans Purse did not conduct SAR teams, restore electricity, water and internet, nor will they finance rebuilding, repair or relocation for those hit by this disaster. That, along with rebuilding roads and infrastructure will be done by FEMA and govt you seem to think is useless. It isn’t Samaritans Purse who is retrieving and identifying bodies and notifying families. That is govt. While organizations like Samaritans Purse are doing a wonderful job in these grief stricken areas, they’ll be gone in weeks to come. But the govt and FEMA will remain until the people and areas are back on their feet.

I am unable to travel to these areas due to work and family obligations here but i have watched sooo many you tube videos throughout the past three weeks? I have donated what I can and have prayed tirelessly. Politics aside as well as the media i prefer the boots on the ground truth tellers. I heard one lady interviewed that stated this has brought out the best in some people and the worst in others. But the neighbors we didn't know now are closest friends with. Shared grief, shock and hopelessness turned into hopefulness and determination led by faith in not only each other but in Jesus Christ. Those that cultivate division and separation have done this entire country a disservice! Those that condemn their brothers and sisters with the intent of getting all they can out of life regardless of the fellow Americans are the reason this country has lost its once reputation of being united. But this disaster, the responses from the locals and those countless volunteers has shed a glimmer of hope that all is not lost. Its a shame that this is what it takes for love and compassion to rise to the top. This nation needs leadership that is led by God not by ones that mock Him or are only really interested in the power and money that they receive.

I would not want to move back in after my home was flooded with that contaminated water. It will never be the same. But most of these people don't have flood insurance and if they have a mortgage on the house what option do they have? It would be a really horrible place to be in.

Fema has changed their rules. They are to help those that are considered at an economic disadvantage.( Ie: dei). It's right on their website. Also, climate change is a priority. That's on the website too.

FEMA was there before the storm hit. Every disaster is different. They are building roads, searching for bodies. Homes will receive up to 42k each. Mountains are NOT flat Florida. Or New Orleans. With hundreds if towns involved people are having their needs met where they are. They don't need fields if trailers at this point. Infrastructure is still not stable nor rebuilt. Fema is also there getting unemployment applications completed, People have vouchers for hotels and food and clothing and water is being restored. Complete waterline and sewer lines and power lines and bridges and roads and interstates are all in process. Fema is there in many forms. Your video show after temporary grading has been done. Go look at the aftermath from Va, Tn, NC and Ga from locals. This will take years.

Can I please help you with the right State Katrina was in Texas 2006 that was their big one I lived in Pensacola Florida we had a real bad one 2004 September 4th Ivan 19 years ago and FEMA didn't come out to finally 2 weeks later we have the Army National Guard for a week and now there was a really big one Andrew and 1992 and I was thinking about moving in the spring of 93 in my family from Pennsylvania that's from from and I moved back up here now they're saying you want to go down there where there was a big hurricane I said it's not where it was at but they lost everything I just found you in North Carolina all over again and Katrina remind you some of it too but they had a major flood with backup sewage and oil and it was nasty yes they finally got trailers also but I know it's hard for you think straight with all that you're going through your emotions and your stress and then being so upset they never showed up that was ignorant it only gave me a little dab of money that's not right when we got help they first asked how much food did you lose how much did you spend so they gave you a food card and then they asked what damage you need to be fixed and they asked us do we had a tarp to put it on we said yes National Guard gave us a tarp and we were able to fix our roof till it get new roof shingles and all that on it and also are carpet was damaged also. And also had taken 4 to 6 years for Pensacola to look all nicely and we're destruction the beach area looks so classic looking now more updated going to look so much more nicer it'll be more safer because it has to be hurricane proof and probably flood proof also what you guys went through and I hope FEMA comes out your way soon you have a really big area needs to be redone and fixed up and I can't wait to see the new look but so sad my heart goes out to you guys I know it's like to go through really bad hurricanes and went through Hurricane Ivan it was a five but I lived in Inland so it was a four that was anyways we had four to six tornadoes hit down in our area and it was category 14 tornadoes that went through and when I seen this tornado damage you guys went through destroying the apple orchards up in the mountains the higher Peak area show me the big tall trees the way it just Twirls all the way down and with the water while it was so powerful because it's so windy and there was tornadoes going on so just push that water gets stronger current I know it's so sad your damn even broke and I hope they get it fixed soon so when you get some more rain it won't do what's doing and I hopefully you get the roads fixed soon too but this is like a war zone like I went through with Ivan when I had seen it with Andrew and also with Katrina but this is very sad early classic once it's all done play more updated and I've been praying for all of you guys your emotions and claim peace and joy all over again and Lord Jesus give them more hope
