I went through Hurricane Michael and this is horrible. The devastation the feeling of looking around and not seeing your normal neighborhood it's frightening.
Complete and utter devastation… prayers go out to all the families that were impacted by this horrific event. I had a buddy whose parents decided to try and wait it all out. They came out okay fortunately.. a lot of people didn’t get so lucky. Bless those who hurt from this tragedy🙏❤️
Florida is a force to be reckon with, we are about to see the community of Florida be closer than it's ever been and build back better than it's ever been. Thoughts and hopes go out to everyone affected.
With storms expected to become stronger and more common one has to think if its such a good idea to be living in a place like that. It's time to build hurricane proof infrastructure or simply move away..
We were there for my first time last June. The people are so awesome and it was so unbelievable and beautiful 😍. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this and even some that couldn't afford to get out in time.

Our paradise was hit by 3 monster hurricanes before this and we were hung out to dry. No help came. DeSantis actually did something. You aren't from this county are you? If you aren't a local, keep your opinions to yourself.

I live in bradenton which is a little north of this and I’m hearing that more than one hundred have passed away. Here in bradenton its only some debris wind damage but where I am we were trapped for a little bit from flooding and the power just got back on. My entire pool patio area is destroyed and it will take some time to rebuild.
I was watching one of their traffic cam as the surge came out, it utterly destroyed everything that once stood in it's path. Don't care what anyone says, the Storm surges are the most dangerous part of a freaking hurricane. It hurts my heart knowing that some people, couldn't leave or had no place to go.
So sad!! I completely feel for everyone down there!! I can understand the devastation that they are feeling having been through a 500yr flood here in IA, and then a derecho a few yrs back. Insane. My heart and prayers are with everyone down there!!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️💔💔😪😪
1) This isn’t “rich people problems” 2) Many of the homes and buildings that were impacted have been there for decades, back when there was far more beach. 3) Homes that were a mile and more from the water were flooded and/or destroyed from storm serge. So the next time you consider going on a beach getaway, remember the building is too close to the water 🙄

This fills me with absolute fear for my mom, my stepdad, my dog, and my family. I live in Nova Scotia, and a lot of you should know Hurricane Lee is coming our way. Seeing the damage from this devastating storm, I have a feeling Hurricane Lee will rip my home to shreds. And with Hurricane Lee being a Category 5 Storm, Im scared. I pray for every single person who had to go through something terrible like this. 😕

I live in South Africa.. As a nation we have so many problems.. Insurance here does not cover natural disasters.. Will all these devestated people be able to bounce back from such a dystrophy like this? My heart is broken for all of them 💔
Wind was so fierce my plants that lived looked burnt, like I had an actual fire looking burnt. Pretty crazy to see us on tv like this. We got screwed with it being high tide, something we haven’t seen since Donna in the 60’s. FMB will never be the same unfortunately 😞
86 hurricanes have hit this general area of Florida since 1930. There will be more in the future. Do not rebuild in the hurricane zone. Be smart. Be safe.
I remember when this happened it was a normal school day then I heard a bunch of people all over the school talking about it and I was wondering what happened and then when I saw some footage of the hurricane I was devastated I was only in 3rd grade when it happened

City officials need to stop bowing real estate developers. These areas should never have condos or homes built. Zoned for businesses only or tourist attraction. Never to LIVE THERE. Greed takes over common sense.
