This why Louisiana keeps “ John Boats”, aluminum boats, inflatable boats, or kayaks hurricane or flash flooding from storms. Great this very reason. Like the Cajun Navy. You never know when you may have to rescue people. PRAYERS going out for everyone with family in Florida and up the east coast.

The saddest thing I've heard so far is the coast guard diver who went to check on a submerged home and found bodies inside. They don't know how many drowned inside yet until they're able to get equipment in. That was this morning so hopefully they've been able to recover them by now. So sad and terrifying...
I was watching a live chat on RU-vid hours before the storm hit and many were saying they refused to leave their homes, and that it wouldn't be a bad storm. It makes me wonder how many of them are now regretting that decision. It's so sad! People made their decision to stay💔
@@HeidiJ1972 I think it shifted more southward than they expected too, maybe? People stay for various reasons and like you said, sometimes they wait too long to leave and then they can't. It's just tragic and my heart goes out to their families.
Crazy because this area is around 15-20 miles in from the ocean. I bet this is a not even a flood zone. Look at all the new homes being built there too.

I have a friend living in North Ports texted me yesterday about finding water or hurricane relief services in North Port they don’t have power and are stranded because of the flooding it’s been 3 days
Honestly This area. And much of Florida should never have been built upon. It’s reclaimed swamp. Barely above water on a sunny day This was inevitable Just like New Orleans So horrible

Actually this area is not even in a flood zone, ven in the worst of rains there’s no standing water. This area is also 30 minutes from the coast. I’m not sure any area could handle 19 inches of rain overnight after having had 17 inches in the last 30 days.

I feel sorry and compassionate towards anyone who has suffered a loss. I don’t put a dollar amount on human suffering…we all feel it. I have been helped by people of all communities and have returned the gesture many times anonymously. Good people are everywhere.

@@prayforthe_1644 To be fair to all involved there’s also no or limited news coverage because they can’t get to where the destruction is. I flew the drone in my neighborhood to show people where we lived what the status of the neighborhood was and I got hundreds of responses from people that were happy to have eyes on the area because they had no clue what was going on or they were out of state. The Weather Channel is going to go to whatever area was hit the hardest because that’s what sells commercial spots. Also people want to see the devastation first hand on TV. If Arcadia was hit as hard as Fort Myers Beach you can guarantee they would be there as well. As for the million dollar houses in my drone video, Zillow the neighborhood …you might be surprised they’re about a quarter of that. Either way I love my house and we worked very hard to get it how it is. I feel for anybody that is suffering right now. You never know, it could be any of us at anytime. -Mike
