As Hurricane Idalia approaches Florida, there is flooding in downtown Sarasota.
Sarasota Police have shut down Highway 41 from Fruitville to downtown as storm surge continues to rise ahead of Hurricane Idalia. Debris is scattered throughout the roads and boats have broken free. A boat traveled around half a mile after breaking free near Selby Gardens and ended up crashing into another boat docked at Marina Jack in downtown Sarasota. Sarasota Police say that multiple boats have broken free.
