I think that girl needs to realize that maybe someone at her station really doesn't like her. "Hey, they said an 'unsurvival' hurricane is on its way. ...hows about you go stand out in the middle of it?"
Local officials: You need to evacuate this is a dangeruous and deadly storm Weather Channel: Yea let me just stand outside and report on what you told them not to do
That's funny, but what is meant is that you can't stay and safely be in your home due to flooding/power outages/flying debris. The journalists aren't restricted to their homes so they can move around. And God bless them for giving us a taste of what it would be like to be there in that storm...
local authorities: you need to evacuate this is a dangerous and deadly storm the weather channel: fuck off i'm the reason why you know about the hurricane. leave me alone
Yeah, grass..palm trees.. no big deal. When you start seeing raccoons and other wildlife cartwheeling through the air, that’s when you know it’s serious. It looked like it might have been at that level though at 2:57.
We can stop this nonsense anytime we want....these storms are manufactured, fueled & directed. WAKE UP. go ck out WeatherWar101's channel & study a few of his vids. He paid for them with his life 2 yrs ago...he was 'disappeared' right before going live=-stream in real time during events. If you watch some of vids, I"m sure you'll figure out what I did on how to take apart this system.
They openly said in part of their coverage that they do it so the viewers will know why it was important for them to evacuate. Kinda counter-intuitive, but I understand that some people need that proof so that they'll trust the order to evacuate next time.
It was hilarious! I mean, just give us the facts, no need for the theatrical sound effects when there’s already pretty dramatic stuff going on IRL on the camera.
AkTejas _ .... did you actually watch the video? I went through this hurricane last night. The worst of it. In fact, this video doesn’t do it justice. It was like the end of the world.

@@moneypenni1694 If hurricanes are "manufactured" then why don't they send a category 5 to China and North Korea? We're the hurricanes from 1800s manufactured as well?
Struggling Gardener It seems so, and that may be why *they* specifically want to do this, but the reason people are sent to do this is to show people that the storm is real business, and they should evacuate. You gotta remember these people, for the most part, are desensitized to hurricanes, so when a big one hits, they don’t really think about just how bad it is.
Its not THAT the wind is blowing, its WHAT the wind is blowing. If they get hit by a car, it doesn't really matter how much money they are getting paid. Its senseless to be out there.
My friend was slashed badly by a flying sheet metal during Katrina. Freaked me out and made me realize how bad the storm was getting as the eye approached.
@@kevinlee6003 That is crazy. I don't mean to boast, but as bad as California is, we have some of the country's safest weather. In fact, I believe that the group of madmen causing these horrible storms across the U.S. & globally, (weather modification which is real and easy to search for) I seriously think that they all live in Los Angeles or very near L.A. b/c nothing really happens that bad , as far as weather goes, out here. Just my personal opinion that is based on Truth~ factual & logical. *KEEP GOD ALWAYS ON YOUR MIND AND HE WILL KEEP YOU IN PERFECT PEACE.* Stay safe out there. Thanks for reading.
@White Knight by all means tell me exactly how you would survive a storm surge of 15 - 20 feet... THAT was the "unsurvivable" part, which was the estimated peak height of the surge if the Hurricane had come in at high tide. It in fact did NOT come in at high tide, and thus the storm surge was lower. HOWEVER, the winds were more severe than anticipated. Additionally as a meteorologist she understands a lot of the risk factors involved in Hurricanes and other violent weather phenomena, she and Jim Cantore were both stationed in Lake Charles when Laura made landfall. Live on the ground reporting was how news about New Orleans flooding broke, Harvey flooding houston, and generally news concerning the aftermath of most hurricanes is gathered from ON THE GROUND reporting and storm chasers. Don't just assume that they pick any old place in the path of the storm to broadcast and hunker down in...
That's ridiculous weather channel really!? Making someone risk their life in those winds just waiting for some sheet metal to slice her!!!! When you live through a hurricane you never want to do it again for all you folks who HAVEN'T. A CAT 1 and CAT 4 very different....STAY SAFE
@@wildflowerb2879 Yea but they love that shit lol that's why they do the job. I highly doubt they are forcing any of them to be there. Adrenaline addiction is a thing.
Pisces there’s pretty much a weather video simulating what it’s like to be in a flood. Or other Diasasters. They use cgi to remake the water and what it would be like to be in the flood. The man talking is on a Grey circle seemingly protecting him from the flood. The whole thing is animation and cgi, however people make jokes about: where can I buy this grey anti weather pad?” And such. It’s quite cool check it out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CU0hsC8f1jo.html
How stupid is it for a reporter to be in a warzone? Or in a burning forest? They do it so that they can tell you whats happening first hand amd not have to rely off of words with no context
One of the greatest TV coverage of a Hurricane in any season. I was working at home at night and I remember watching all this videos and coverage live all night, including when the glass exploded. Everyone at the TWC studios went silent and the TV presenter told everyone to take cover.
A physical representation of my mind fighting depression & anxiety while trying to remain normal “It’s fine! 😃 We are fine! 😀 Everything is fine! 👁💧👄💧👁
I stayed in a cheap Disney hotel during a category 5 hurricane. Fourth floor, and it was so cozy. I love the sounds the Hurricanes make. But the destruction is scary.
I live in Lake Charles and our town is completely devastated 💔😢 my home is okay with minimal damage but my neighborhood is like a war zone 😅 I found out today that sometimes we never really appreciate something until you almost lose it 💪🏼. But we got this and we will come out stronger than ever before
2:38 that whistle though. i remember when super typhoon yolanda hits philippines 😭 That was so strong super typhoon in History! And i remember when that typhoon hits my Country the whistle was devastated my ears!
Oh, it was terrible. I’m a local here in almost 3 years later I still see blue tarps.. after the storm is over I witnessed firsthand my city destroyed. It looked like a literal warzone
Also, this video at the end makes me think of a famous video of Hurricane Hugo. Reporters and locals take refuge in a dimly lit stairwell. As the lights Flicker you hear a horrendous sound as the wind resonates and creates a higher pitch but bone chilling screaming sounds... Laura has a lower pitch, but it gives me goosebumps just the same as the Hugo video
TEE-rrific footage! While in CT, I missed the huge thunderstorm of yesterday. Branford and Hamden got the lion's share, while in Manchester (here) we just had a wimpy shower -- enough to water my plants!
Hey weather channel? Is it possible to get credits in the description of the reporters and cameramen, and maybe any other staff involved in the filming of this? These are some damn brave and impressive people, and I want to show them proper respect.
So the casino is able to handle 140 mph sustained winds and have power in the middle of the eye wall of a catagory 4 hurricane yet i lose power 200 miles east of tropical storm isaisis which only had winds of 55 mph and lost power for over a week
You know what's weird watching her being pushed by the hurricane made it feel like i was being pushed and the hurricane isn't even in my part of the state
2:30 The wind whistling outside the casino reminds me of the same sound heard when Danny goes to get his brother Ryan to shelter in the basement after sending Arthur down there as a tornado approaches the Hatch home in "Night of the Twisters".
Boss: Ok reporters.... get yourself in the middle of dangerous storm, risk your lives so we can get a lot views on RU-vid! Reporters: Tell my family I love them... 😢 ..IDIOTS.
My mom left home a few weeks ago without saying anything. She texted me two days ago saying she was on her way to Texas. My mom’s name is Laura. I think this is her final form…
Here it is 3 weeks and 1 day post Laura landfall and my home still doesn't have electricity. This storm did such devastating damage to our electrical grid. So many homes and businesses utterly destroyed. SWLA is still reeling from this monster storm.
The storm surge hit the Cameron Louisiana area not Lake Charles, but nobody was there to report it because nobody was going to put their lives in danger just have to wait to the look at the footage afterwards, however Lake Charles had 130mph winds and that's what it looks like, as a Louisiana resident and truck driver I seen 1st hand the aftermath of hurricanes, Micheal tore apart the Panama City Florida area
