The lights are gradually turning back on for the hundreds of thousands of people without power in the Tampa Bay area following Hurricane Milton.

Line workers have been unsung heroes forever. They *ALWAYS* show up to help ever since I can remember. Much gratitude for repairing something we often take for granted.

If those still lacking power are able to access RU-vid, they'll see the volume of damage is huge. Line workers are working 16 hr shifts & because it's electrical, it's obviously quite dangerous. Know it can't be easy but try to 'hang in there'. They'll be there to help. Seem to be a very dedicated group.

@@kenttheman8047 They are working as quickly as they can to safely restore power. It's very possible they are working upstream of you making repairs before they can repair your part of the grid.

I just left and went to Orlando and got a full tank of gas now. Pinellas and Hillsborough County area is just a mess. Stay safe, everyone 🙏 Prayers for those who lost everything and then some.

Worst emergency response from TECO I’ve ever seen out of all the hurricanes I’ve been through. Dukes out here getting it done though, thankfully.

Not true. TECO< has done great some areas hit harder than others as far as trees and even water. They have a lot online already.

Saw only 1 crew working on 1 street light on waters ave today since the hurricane passed. I have seen zero crews working in Clearwater .

@zoeclearwater I drive to Clearwater frm Tampa daily. The last 2 days were Pitch Black. Yesterday, after my 12 hr shift, Clearwater had progress 🙌 Tampa still pitch black..... Good luck & and stay safe 🙏

OP - They're working all over the state to restore power. It's very possible there is damage to the grid that has to be repaired before they can work on your community.

@@ms.cooper6505 I actually drive from Clearwater to Tampa to work . Clearwater is a little better but the surrounding areas of Tampa are a complete nightmare. I went through this during the last major storm a few years ago and I did actually saw line workers everywhere. They were actually stationed at the racetrack on racetrack road. This time I see zero .

@@Matt-fl8uy it’s not just the grid. It’s the infrastructure that needs to be fixed. The repairs that need to be done to fix the street lights are massive in the Tampa area. I am not talking about within city limits . That’s small compared to the unincorporated area of Tampa. Like Temple Terrace. The roads have been falling apart for a long time now.

@@Mano_421 Thank you, it is dangerous and dirty work, you deal with bugs and long, long hours away from family. Most of us know and appreciate you all. I am humbled by it. SO far, you're doing a fantastic job. Many 1000 and 1000 have lights already. I do and it's the fastest response I have in any storm in this area. Patience people been with out on lesser storms a month. Peace!

My son is in Sarasota area off McIntosh between webber and Bahia vista are still without, he told us that he hopes they come today, and that the area is limited on supplies and going out isn’t an option to try and dodge other drivers in the intersections. Still out of power and I heard the speech and the fact that no one mentioned north Tampa is crazy. We live over off North Nebraska between bears and Fletcher and there are newborns over here they cry all night because of the heat and all in here no hazard situation and we still without power 5 days after no water, no flooding, no down polls. We need power my kids have nosebleeds every day. I'm losing my mind and its hot all day everyday

TECO: With the help of 6,000 utility workers, we expect to restore power for essentially all customers in the coming days. Many will have power sooner; more extensive damage may take longer. They sit in their trucks and sleep, how dangerous is that? They’re on break more than they work. I have time to watch them. Then they didn’t activate the neighborhood’s power, just the main road. Do you think they care about us? No, if one fell, I wouldn’t call 911. These people never should’ve been hired. 2 and a half years behind schedule to bury power lines. This shouldn’t have happened if they actually did their jobs with efficiency and fulfilled their promise to bury power lines two and a half years ago.

I lack the money to buy one, not the common sense!😵‍💫 I'm in Tampa Bay Florida and power went out Wednesday night at 10: 18 as hurricane Milton arrived. According to Duke Energy we may have power by this coming Tuesday midnight. If you want to help me out, just let me know.💝

@@laurabarber6697 I hope so for your sake, If you plan on staying I would try a put a little money aside each month so you can buy one. I advertised a Honda generator I paid $1300 for only $700 and I ended up selling it for $500 since that was the only guy who offered to buy it when I left Florida to move abroad. Look for the deals, they make all the difference in the world when you need one. Good luck with you power.

They should be bringing in crews from other states to help restore power in all these communities. And all the contribute is they gave money to the Kamla campaign, should retracted and redirected to the disaster, relief, and she should be willing to give it up. Let’s see what a humanitarian.
