I live an hour up the coast from Acapulco. The death toll is STILL rising daily and it' not being reported. Just yesterday afternoon, one of the captains body was recovered from a sunken yacht in the bay. Three weeks after the hurricane. The city was so unprepared because Otis was on course to slam the beach town up the coast from there about an hour away, in fact just about 10 minutes from my kids and I. We were so terrified. Otis went from a tropical storm in the morning to a cat 5 in the eneving. Dozens of yacht crews became trapped on their vessels, because when they presented to work, Otis was either a cat 1 or even still a trop storm. They never even knew what was brewing, water so violent that all lines securing the boats and ships to the shore just snapped. They were all lost at sea. All. Of. Them. Acapulco is still a lost war zone 😞 and the entire region is in mourning. We have loved Acapulco for generations. And it is no more. God help us.
