He is in our hearts, and I promise, my future grandchildren will know the name John Hurt. Thank you for making this film, I'll watch it a hundred times ❤️
I appreciate that his granddaughter has some deep feelings, but there she has no need whatsoever to "fight for his legacy". It's alive and well, and MJH is still reaching (and teaching!) new fingerpickers every day, all over the world.
Oh Yes, I’ve been understanding that same feeling since I first stumbled upon Mister John Hurts ten years ago now with his incredible storytelling abilities via the song StaggerLee. I’m so happy someone is doing (or has already completed, possibly?) a film documentary on this beloved soul of the past and present I’m very excited to learn more about his granddaughter… I go through John Hurt spells periodically in musical pursuit while writing ✍️. I look forward to watching the entire film and, from the trailer, it feels you were the ones to do it justice and bring continual reverence to the remarkable man, Mister John Hurts. Many thank yous to all continuing his great legacy 🙏
Never heard of John Hurt until now but I love this music. I've been researching Muddy Waters and found John Hurt. Thanks You Tube!!! Where can we watch this when it comes out?
I love Mississippi John Hurt. I’ve been a fan for a good while, after I discovered this wonderful man’s music. I have the original 78rpm print of Frankie. Very old record from 1928,bought it on eBay for a lot of money. One of my favorites by this legendary guitar artist.
One of the best to ever pick up a guitar. His understated playing often belied a tricky twist in execution. Simply stated: John Smith Hurt approached and played fingerstyle guitar the way it's supposed to be played and approached. I learn stuff from him all the time still
I can see I have some catching up to do since I don’t know Guy Davis’ music, but anyone who can speak with that much heart about music, is someone I have to hear making it.
oh wow awesome i cna honestly say this is the first trailed ive seen in years that got me very excited...one twang from ole misssissippi john hurts melts my soul....bravo - SJOCR
Nothing here for people who who have known about MJH and already seen interviews with Sebastian and the others. But probably a good intro for folks who are unfamiliar.
