As someone who is an accident waiting to happen, I can absolutely confirm that sprains hurt more than actual breaks (Ive broken several bones)

The scream you emitted when you jumped left me actually crying laughing. 1000/10 thank you. Edit: Incidentally I broke a toe and it was a 14 and the worst pain I have ever experienced. I was playing with my puppers and I clumsily ran around my bed and It sort of went *pop* and I looked down and my toe was jutting out at a very ragdoll physics angle. The pain went from excruciating to tingling numbness so it wasn't bad...at that point. Then I had it reset and it was legit blackout painful WITH painkillers and a local anesthetic. 0/10000 do not recommend.

This video is brilliant. I am a teacher and today this 15 year-old oy came into my classroom crying. He just sat down, and I didn't want to draw any attention to him because the other kids in class would have made fun of him. Instead, I introduced them to this video. By the end of the video, the boy's tears dried up and he was smiling and laughing along with the rest of the class. Thanks for this video, it made a big impact. Definitely showing more of these to them in future! 😁

When I was a child, while I was practicing Full Contact, I fall on wooden parquet and hit my elbow really really hard. I thought it was broken and couldn’t move it at all during all the afternoon. But in fact I just hit the nerves of my elbow, that’s why it was so painfull. 😅

i just discovered this channel and i freakin love it. i too have really bad adhd! i also have ostiogenisis imperfecta and have broken both my legs twice. once when i was 25 days old, my other in first grade while jumping off of a climber over and over again, the other leg again broke in high school playing a tennis match, and then while that leg was healing, i proceeded to play one legged tennis for like a month and a half just full out sprinting on the one leg.. and one day in the band room i was messin around with a buddy, he said something and i started chasing him around the band room, keeping up, with one leg, until i hear this snap sound, like snapping a wooden broom, and i just collapsed confused. the pain didnt start until i looked down and saw a little piece of bone sticking out. then it hurt really bad. but they healed and im back to being very athletic again. i have the mild kinda OI so ur just a little shorter and brake bones as a kid if ur particularly active, so hopefully from here out il be square. but to ice cream sandwich, sprains can hurt worse than some bone brakes just so u know. and you could totally handle it, the body is crazy. plus you get pain killers wooh and they are fun. had maybe the best summer of my life that year recovering from two broken legs haha chillin with friends in a wheelchair, seeing wall-e on the couch with my girlfriend with a cast on my leg, enjoying pain killers. lmao

One time, when I was a young lad (maybe like 10 or 11) I was chillin on some monkey bars (literally just sitting on them) while waiting for my turn at one of the events for track and field. But when on those, I had slipped off, hit my chest, and then jaw… all in that order. Knocked the wind out of me, and I bit my tongue enough it bled, and had an immense pain in my chest from that. There was absolutely no hairline fractures from that (I guess), despite the fact the pain was SOO DAMN HARSH, but I never broke the bones in my chest. Like you said with that sprain, sometimes I get phantom pain from that despite the fact I felt no pain two or three months after that happened. I really hate it, but it’s there now :/

The fact I have had so many accidents but nvr broken a bone amazes me & I also too have fallen down the stairs a bunch of times, I have bad luck with stairs 😔

I broke my ankle, not in the same way, but point being is that it’s designed to break the bone rather than break the ligament (which is what the sprain is). The ligament is far more difficult for the body to repair effectively, so a broken bone is the favored outcome. In my particular case however, the bone couldn’t be reseated because my ligament, as are my ligaments everywhere, is far too tight and was actively pulling my bones apart. They had to surgically screw my bones together like a piece of furniture. I also could feel that screw in there for years after the surgery, and they told me they could remove it if I wanted and I’d essentially have to go through the entire experience all over again, which probably just isn’t worth it. So, in my particular case, we are probably a bit even, though I ended up part cyborg.

Tore the miniscus in my right knee and tore my achilles tendon in my left knee. The pain that *never* ends.

I’ve fractured both of my wrists (separate times) and, while I guess that’s maybe technically not “breaking” a bone, it’s more like half breaking a bone, I think it qualifies me enough to tell you, it kind doesn’t hurt that much. I mean breaking/fracturing your ankle or leg probably hurts more, since you have to walk on it, but your arm at least kinda doesn’t hurt that much. The first time I played about an hour of soccer, went home, went out for a bit to watch my sister play soccer, then went back home before finally deciding maybe I should go see a doctor because it was still hurting the same. The second time the only reason I was sure I should go see a doctor was because I felt the feeling and was like “this feels exactly the same as the first time”. Honestly I’ve had stomachaches that were more painful.

I can relate to the jumping off slides problem. I got kicked out of preschool for it. I also laughed, according to my older sister. I have also never broken a bone, or sprained anything, but then again, I’m only 13. It’s surprising that I’ve never broken a bone, because my ADHD clumsiness gets me into a lot of trouble. My fight or flight reaction is always flight, which makes me a great distraction for my dodgeball teams, even though I’m so unathletic that nobody wants me on their teams anyway. Recently, a kid who teases me was chasing me into the bleachers in P.E., and pushed me, and I had to get seven staples out in my head. Similar to what I’ve heard about breaking bones, it didn’t hurt until I saw the blood dripping down. I didn’t pass out, I just stood there until the nurse got there, no concussion, I will never forget that moment. I still have a slight dent in my scalp from the way it healed. I also once bit part of my tounge off, and my tounge is still shorter. I once climbed on top of my dresser/wardrobe, got stuck, and had to wait until my older sister finally heard me calling for help and got me down. The way I got up there was I climbed onto my windowsill and pulled myself onto my dresser and sat there. Then I realized I couldn’t get down. I’m afraid of heights, but I really like being high up because the feeling of the adrenaline is perfect. Any other fear, however, I can’t handle, and I don’t understand the difference. I think spiders are cute and one day hope to animate these stories, just like you do. You have been my greatest inspiration in the past… one year… that I’ve known your channel, and I beg you to keep making hilarious videos like these. I'm in massage therapy school, and one thing you can get as a massage is deep tissue. Thing about deep tissue is you need to put a lot of force into people with a lot of tension or you just...don't get through their top layers. I'm also a strength athlete and not small, so my base tension level is insane compared to a lot of my classmates. The deepest parts of my upper back are functionally inaccessible for smaller therapists on a bad day, and that means if someone tries to go deep on me, it hurts a lot. But then I enlisted the help of my buddy Jake. Jake is 6'2, 260 pounds, and an ex-bodybuilder and ex-wrestler. Whatever he did to my shoulders and my upper quad were the most painful neurological responses I've had. I ended up walking around funny afterwards just to wait for the pain to subside. I was super loose and it felt kinda bad honestly, I'm much more of the mind to balance someone's tension rather than eliminate it.

Generally bone breaks aren't too bad especially after a few of them. I've gotten injured a lot and broken the majority of bones in my body due to several accidents of variety of types, couple car crashes, hit by a boat, couple bad falls, one being stupid on a second floor balcony, at this point, the local ER people just know me. But I've got to say bone pains suck, but flesh wounds are where the real pain is. Snap both arm bones rollerblading, no biggy, get caught by a piece of shrapnel off a knife when you're grinding it, the end is here and I'm ready for it. Also joint pains really suck both in the short term like your sprain and the long aches of an abused body.

I’ve broken a bone before, luckily only once. But I remember it hurt so much that I was telling myself ‘it’s just a dream’, I’m pretty sure I was starting to blackout from the pain. My parents tell me that if it was my brother they would’ve assumed it was just a scratch since he always cried, but since I’m the exact opposite and actively try not to cry they knew something was actually wrong and took me to the nearest hospital that was an hour away. That was nowhere near when they had to bend my bone back into place the next day, it hurt way more and hope I never have to go through it again.

As somebody who HAD broken a bone and had a sprain in the same place, the second IS SO MUCH WORSE. Like hundreds of times worse. When you have a sprain your muscles are still in tact, so you end up CONSTANTLY MOVING IT, like all the time. And pain only comes when you move it, so you gonna be sitting on the couch, forget that your something hurts (because it doesn't) do something with it, and die of pain induced shock.

It really depends on what you break tbh. I broke my finger playing football and I didn’t even notice it at first. I thought it was just jammed or something. It didn’t hurt at all but it looked weird. Although the injury itself didn’t hurt the surgery was horrible 😭

When I was working as a tow truck driver, I missed a step and fell out of a truck, essentially the height of a semi, and landed right on my ankle. All I remember was hearing an audible pop and screaming at the top of my lungs. 0/10 experience.

I’ve broken my nose, fractured my shoulder blade, dislocated my elbow, got stitches in my knee, gotten a shard of metal stuck in my eye, and had a couple concussions. Trust me, all of that pails in comparison to the worst pain I’ve had… Getting sick. Getting a 106 degree fever was the worst thing I’ve ever felt. Way worse than any injury. Also, going to the hospital is fun! Having your stomach acid going out both ways isn’t.

I've sprained my ankle a couple of times (growing very quickly doesn't give the rest of your body a lot of time to adjust so for tall people it's very easy to sprain ankles during the growth spurt), broken two fingers on separate occasions and once broke both of the arm bones near the wrist pretty badly when the front edge of my snowboard jammed into a skiing mat that peeked up from under the snow and all of my momentum was transferred to the arm I tried to save myself with. The latter was extremely painful, but not exceedingly much more painful than spraining an ankle. The biggest difference was how long it was painful for. I spent hours waiting to be put under and have my arm put back together (if the bones were broken any worse I'd probably have to have screws put in them), and over that time it just didn't get any better. A sprain gets slightly better in a couple of minutes of being stabilised and bearable in like half an hour. The broken bones were as painful multiple hours in, as they had been as soon as the adrenaline wore off quickly after the accident. Easily most painful experience of my life, by a long shot.

I recently broke my scapula in a motorcycle accident, and when they lifted me on to the stretcher as they were doing so, I felt the bone finally give and break along with my shoulder coming out of place, the pain was insane, probably would have been 10 times worse without the adrenaline rushing through me after the crash. First and hopefully last time I break a bone

for me whom had experienced both, broken right ankle and sprained my left, the pain of breaking it was big, but went away after casting it and some meds, the sprained left after 10 years has linguring pain, so i would say spraing a bone is worst since it never goes away, and sudden movment bring back allot of the pain.
