Never thought you would manage to make me feel sad about NIFTY of all people, but here we are. I love the backstory you give each character and the way you explain how they came to be and why they're in hell. Can't wait for Angel's redesign!
My personal headcanon for husk is that he had one or two kids (one being 11 and the other being 5 when he died) and since he was broke and couldnt afford to live anywhere due to his gambling and drinking problems they lived either on the streets, with the mafia, or with alastor. He picked up a job at the local bar which is where he met alastor and mimzy.
I love the design and backstory you gave to Nifty, it's brilliant, disturbing and heartbreaking. But I just have one suggestion for his design, which would be to make her brain a pile of earthworms: both to add a layer to her cruelly ironic appearance (earthworms are often associated with bugs and dirt), to gave a soft-gore aspect and to accentuate the fact that she was in a psychiatric hospital (the earthworms having been used in numerous experiments, the lack of empathy she received and to symbolize her damaged mind).
What I really like about your rewrites for the characters is how you make a point to explain thoroughly on why they're in Hell to begin with, with Nifty being a great example for that. Her murdering her parents wasn't the issue. The issue was that she did it out of personal enjoyment and gratification and made it slow and as agonizing as possible. Hazbin Hotel does a great job in making fun and likeable characters, which in turn makes it hard to believe they are in literal Hell to begin with. I like how in your AU, you don't shy away from the fact that the main cast all have reasons to belong there, giving us the chance to see them be truly redeemed and allowed access to Heaven. Keep up the great work!
I really, really like the idea of the sins of the characters coloring the sinners. The characters marked by their sins; that's the good stuff. Could be interesting to play with; how much their sins 'stain' them, even if their actual sin corresponds with what they think their sin is. Fun!
One of the things I think is kinda sad is how she is basically a child for her height and the trauma she went through as a child but I think Alastor would definitely scold and punish her as if she were a child despite her trauma he wouldn’t care and would just want her to behave despite what she went through but then he would take her out killing to make her feel better we all know he definitely encourages her killing
Info about Niffty, you got her being from the 50s, but she was also Japanese and in her 20s iirc, it is quite possible that she was in an interment camp when young. Also she was probably alive at the same time as Angel.
@@ajthewildwolf nvm I checked reddit "I believe Viv never actually outright said anything about Niffty being Japanese, it was just a fanbase assumption that came from one of the questions in the Vivziestreems where Viv was asked "Do the characters speak other languages?" To which Viv confirmed that Japanese was Niffty's second language. Although now that it was mentioned, I'm not really too sure whether Niffty will still canonically speak Japanese now that Michelle isn't on board with the show anymore, since that whole character trait was entirely based on the fact that the VA spoke Japanese."
i absolutely adored how you fleshed out these characters portraying them as actual sinners and reflecting the key points of their life & sins in their design I specially liked what you did with nifty ALOT. what happened to her was ultra tragic but not justifiable enough to overlook her actions specially when you said that Nifty has great potential to get into heaven but just need a little help, i think that would play great into the plot
Your redesigns are great, I love how this au explores more the sinners and their sins! :D not only I love how Husk is chonky (gotta love unique shapes), gotta love how Husk is a assassin for the mafia in this au, just realized that it makes so much sense for his character- like in the show, there’s his very observant trait he does the bold move of admitting straight up to others. I could see in this version, this trait got developed in Husk since his former life’s job since assassins do have to study their targets after all? For Nifty, I love how tragic her character is here, esp how things were in her time period has affected her in her past life to how she is as herself now
i would really like to see what will you do with angel dust his designe looks fun to work with and i liked how you included husk in mafia it actually suits him since he seem more experienced with the crime life in the show
One thing I loved is the OST conjuction of Amalgam and An Ending for Niffty's section. Amalgam shows her morbid, terrifying side and is playing during the redesign process itself. However, An Ending plays during her backstory, and a better fit's yet to be found. An Ending, really, fits for a tragic backstory... a surprising fit, indeed. Great job as always!
fun little fact the ladybug photo referenced in the video is an Asian lady beetle, which often enter and cluster in homes during the winter. They are normally mistaken for ladybugs tho.

I almost got a lobotomy when I was just a young kid because of my learning dissability most because it was called a low developmental disability back in the 90`s and was believed to be a mental dissorder. But my mother saved me from that thank Jesus. Your version of Nifty looks very cute by away.
I love redesigns but the line makes me dislike the original ones because these are so beautiful and make some much more sense these are so cool thank you for making contact
The cape could’ve been used as ✨MOTH WINGS✨ cus I still wanna see my good ol’ boy to fly, but also not tak as much space in writing ( also good plot device if you ever need to rip a body part, cus I dunno if wings count as limbs, off )
I'd love to see the three V's especially bc u introduce all of them in the 4th episode of ur rewrite! All of ur redesigns are amazing and their backstories! Husk's backstory makes so much more sense with him being in the 40s and Angel in the 70s especially if u look at the history of the 70s with pr*stitution.
I do need to say though, Hazbin Hotel isn’t saying no sinner deserves punishment, or that every sinner can be redeemed and deserves heaven- it’s a question of opportunity and accessibility to be able to change. Liken it to the prison system: they got their punishment already, so continued abuse and exploitation afterwards undermines the very idea that prison is a system of rehabilitation, as it continuously removes access to redemption through repeat abuse. Now Hazbin Hotel is very much so “Hell is other people”. There’s no inherent system set to torture people and also no moderation to keep sinners from torturing each other. Compound this with those in authority abusing their power to further torment and kill the criminals, and you do not have an environment that is at all conducive to rehabilitation. People get more desperate and sinful under duress and pain, not better. The idea isn’t that everyone deserves to be redeemed or deserves to leave Hell, it’s that everyone deserves the opportunities to be redeemed. And that tormenting criminals does not right their crime, and only creates more abuse and pain in the world. Hell is the punishment, everything else is just making sure they stay down and can never change. Prison systems don’t care about rehabilitation and Hell doesn’t even pretend to.
That means a lot to me! I'm trying really hard to make this AU just as good as the actual show and your praise means a lot to me. I hope to continue the quality
I love Nifty’s redesing! I have question about your AU. Lilith was first Imp, while still being Queen of hell. In Helluva Boss imps are the lowerest class along with hellhaunds. Are they highter in hierarchy in your AU, since Lilith=Imp?
These are all such wonderful ideas! I like how during the episode segment you pace things much better it seems. Are you ever planning on doing anything like a comic or whatnot for your au like you're doing for your other series or no?

I myself for my own redesign series have a original story for nifty, it basically is the plot of the movie "The Orphan", Nifty was a japanese girl that traveled the world, thanks to her already young looking appearance she easily entered families as a poor orphan girl, she would slowly get rid of the competition in the fathers life, she would kill the mother and any other females in his life, in the end she would try to marry him, but the last man she tried to seduce ended up stabbing her in the eye and so she would be sent to hell.
Making an overlord character as i watch I wonder how hed fit into this au specifically He has a lot of spider and web imagery, along with a bunch of other stuff mostly because of his association with the mafia early on in life When he did go to hell he was still fairly young but he had been in a great role in the mafia so he used his experience to rise to the ranks, much like you said Husk did I do wonder if i want him to also sell his soul but with how i made him i feel hes way too smart for that Well see Love watching these Get my brain thinking. @@ajthewildwolf The contacts on her phone when she calls her dad, there are some genuine theological demons who aren't in the show there, like Amon and Barbatos of the Ars Goetia, Azazel (a fallen angel), Belphegor (The sin of Sloth who is seemingly female in the Hellaverse), and even the irish Cyhyraeth.
Unfortunately I have Angel Dust next. I'll see if I can put them together but next week's video is planned to be a bigger one so I'll probably have to split them up
