Them being the harsh-but-fair foot soldiers of God who empower mortals and obliterate armies according to His design would have been both Biblically accurate and a refreshing change of pace.
& biblically inaccurate as angels are the celestial quire as in instruments of god. Think of them more as sentient being that can not disobey the word & will without suffering. The war in heaven cast 1/3 of heaven quire out with lucifer=morning star persuaded by Samael=the venom of god who was the angel that took gods will literal & since god stated that humanity was to be his greatest creation he wither was the serpent or had Satan=scapegoat act as serpent in the garden at the tree of forbidden fruit. Lucifer to destroy all attachment to his father & creator tore his own wings from his flesh to crawl upon the ground as if a worm severing all connection to the divine. The reason Lucifer rebelled starting the war in heaven from Samael's suggestion was his pride as he saw himself of god & how could god demand he a being made of fire submit in service of a creature of dirt-clay being humanity. The Idea of Lucifer being with Lilith the 1st women & mother of demons as well as vampires in some mythologies is laughable as she is the 1st women/human as well the ex wife of Adam for she would not lay under Adam as god demanded. Lucifer saw himself as made of the image of perfection that is god & so why would perfection ever copulate with something so beneath him as a human? It would be akin to bestiality in Lucifer's eyes beneath any angel let alone him! Adam as a man even in heaven would never be an angel as only 1 achieved one achieved that if any which is Enoch ascending to Metatron=voice/scribe of god being the only angel above the arch angels such as Samael, Michael, Gabriel & probably Lucifer. Most don't understand this as written Elohim as in god is in spirit like a mountain of fire cloaked in a robe of blood which brightness permits nothing in his presence atop a throne chariot Ophanim=wheeled spherical angels that act as his only connection from the spiritual & material. The Angels act as Elohim's body for he is without material form. If most saw their god they would not survive & him along with his angels would appear eldritch if not more terrifying then any demon or devil as most are not familiar with scripture. The Angels of many orders al ways state roughly ''be not afraid'' every time. Witnessing the many eyed winged ones that make men dwarf in comparison that have bodies like molten hot bronze would shock most anyone even today. Angels are more like the terminator by modern movie standards as if given an order they cannot disobey without going against built in programming that pains them. humanity has free will & a connection to god but it is not permanent like the choir who's will is constrained unless severed by disfigurement or their wings. A biblically accurate account of the Abrahamic faith put on the Screen would probably cause people to have to rethink everything they were taught from the king James bible & most of the later nonsense Christian movement in the USA. Technically speaking Metatron is the voice of God & every member of the clergy of every Christian sect is a heretic for assuming & claiming the word of god in any capacity let alone the pope. The sins are one thing that can be absolved through penance but heresy as the text stated their is no forgiveness mentioned! The only other heresy as serious is to tamper with the fountain of life as in the process of copulation & Gestation. Being pro abortion & Christian is a an oxymoron funnily. Mind I am not religious but godless but Even I bothered to read the bible & other scripture merely out of my interest in the past. What Latin speaking man hasn't read it in it's original form.

One of the things I notice about Vizi writing is that when a character needs to be sympathized, even if they've done horrible things. Vizi tries to make another character the worst person ever.
the way she vilanises adam and lute not for being genociders BUT FOR BEING SEXISTS AND HOMOPHOBICS.... is just ridiculous for me sometimes, like she shows they genocides as ''oh no....'' but when lute call her relationship with vaggie ''blasphemous'' my God is like she was doing a war crime
@@elderjose9662 That whole thing is a misunderstanding based around a lot of the lore of the show being word of mouth, and not shown in the actual show. Vivzie said that gay people absolutely get into heaven and that being gay isn't considered a sin in the Hazbin universe, and that any gay characters in hell are in hell for their other actions on earth, or were born in hell so never got a chance. The reason Lute called their relationship blasphemous was because an angel is in a relationship with a demon, and she sees that as disgusting due to her black and white views, not because they're gay. Lute and Adam aren't homophobic. Though Adam is sexist.

This quote could apply to the real world as well because of how vibes only politics has become. This show is a great example of that, especially with the double standards around exploitation. Because Valentino isn’t a main character, he’s bad because of how he treats Angel Dust. But because Alastor is a main character and obviously one of Vivziepop’s darlings, his treatment of Husk mostly is swept under the rug.
@@BJJohnson98 Yeah that's true. And also don't forget about Sir Pentious, and the scene where he's dragged by other demons to be sexually assaulted, and it's played a funny joke (yet not two minutes later they want to remind us about Angel Dust's sexual abuse and want to take it entirely seriously...)
talking about the real world or the show? Cause what you said applies to both, especially with how much leftism has subverted everything, like biological differences between men and women being deaminized and how the legal system mostly seems to help criminals nowadays.
Dante's Inferno is literally EVERYTHING Hazbin Hotel THOUGHT it was trying to be, but failed. Also the creator of the show has a very hard time taking criticism.
It's annoying that there's a solid trend for years (and I see this with some people in D&D groups who are teachers) that Good is just for jerks and that Evil is misunderstood, charming, good people with the best intentions.
Not recent, it's older than the first stories and myths. It's usually because stories are not always focused on people, they're focused on morality and values with a human face, the "lesson" or "message" is embedded in looking beyond the hero and villains for a message in the story being told. It's because modern stories try to replace Villains as Heroes, but that's probably more to do with the way Heroes are written as pure or unadorned, orphans or kind children... in stories designed for children. The blank slate / faceless hero is "you" in the story, because that's the message being told to children. It's usually because writers tend to confuse or try to make children's tales fit adult concepts. So, the Villains become misunderstood. Or anti-heroes. People who failed. While the heroes are those with virtues and good parents, royals. Orphans. Nobility. Gods. who are selfish, petty, conceited, and so on. Most heroes in myth are conflicted, normal people. Mixing allegory and racism isn't part of the older stories, because the crux of most stories wasn't culture, it was about life and death, power and choices. Why gods kill gods, why children kill their parents, et al. It's a typical Father/Mother inversion, because psychologically, people have to remove the role of parents in their lives to grow up. The Daddy Issues trope is fairly well known, even if you don't know why, and it's why power fantasy tends to fight god itself, or a series of gods that anthropomorphise various roles or identities. Most power-based stories usually invoke or involve parents by accident or on purpose. Orphaned children. Fighting the Patriarchy, Fighting a God, Fighting sexism, sic. Fighting the Demon King/Queen. It's basically putting a face/personality on someone's mental demons. And, it's usually not until they have children, that they end up replicating the failures of their parents. i.e. Kill God, become God. Abandon God, become Powerful, sic. It's usually a rejection of a father/mother role, by subverting, deconstructing or inverting the role of a protector and teacher.
That's what I hate about a number of new Western cartoons. They tend to depict evil as misunderstood, and morally degenerate people as "misfits" and well-meaning weirdos. And things that are traditionally seen as good are twisted to be depicted as authoritarian, oppressive or arrogant jerks. It's not always as obvious. Sometimes they're subtle with it. But I have seen recurring themes of "you're perfect as you are (even though you're insufferable to people around you)! You don't need to change. The world around you needs to change!"
@@leipzigergnom the depictions are true that authoritarians can be arrogant, but usually they learn how to adapt their methods to you or learn their mistakes(if they have a reason to). They aren't idiots or truly shitty people as these liberals think. Evil people can change too, but you have to be realistic on if it's possible, like terrorism is not redeemable, but robbing from banks can be redeemable(as long they don't kill anyone in the process). Weirdos depends on what culture you're in(I'm not sure what you meant here). Evil is not misunderstood, it rarely was. If the show is aiming for a person that does (reasonable)bad things(like stealing or fraud) for a good reason(like feeding their family), then I would get what it's trying to do, but the way the show portrays their already messed up characters completely fails the plot.

This show really throws in a new character or three every damn episode, and their designs are so same-y I cannot be arsed to remember them. All the demon ladies are just chalk white human women with red eyes, all the angels save Adam are oddly grey skinned, it is boring.
@@SwiftNimblefoot Not all of the demon ladies are that, with Cherry her clothing looks pretty different from Charlie and she is a cyclops and has very different hair too. Saint Peter wasn`t grey skinned. It really isn`t boring, they wouldn`t all have human like skins
What made Adam so bad as a villain was that Vivizepop missed a big opportunity to show how he opposes Charlie's point of view. Charlie believed that sinners can be redeemed, so, she could've have Adam think that sinners are not worth redeeming, and so, killing them was justified in his eyes. That would've made him a much better villain than to just make him foul-mouthed and make penis jokes all the time.

Just read the Bible, guys. It has WAY better stories about redemption, angels fighting demons, and a villain who happens to be ironically both an angel and an agent of chaos.
Also, angels get nerfed HARD in this show. An angel in the Bible kills an entire army of 150,000 men in one night. Demons are able to be repelled by HUMANS who have faith, and angels can more or less be thought of as faith personified.
I dread this show introducing ArchAngel Michael and the others. If we go by the Book of Revelation, Satan is the single biggest dragon in all existence and fiction (a mere flick of his tail sends, what, a third or fourth of all the stars in space crashing to Earth… yikes!) and this is the same Satan ArchAngel Michael bodied effortlessly by himself. I doubt he’ll be anywhere near as strong, stoic, and, well, angelic warrior who is the Patron Saint of all Cops and Warriors/Soldiers in Hazbin.

@@AbimaelLopez-hz3qq I would be interested to hear some examples of musical timing the show pulls off. there's an agenda at play, clearly the show runners are catholic scourge trying to turn people away from god (like all catholics, they are worse than satanists)
I remembered when the pilot blew up and I knew the show would be garbage. The creator once made a webcomic which has all the same problems the show has.
This show has wasted potential. The very idea of the princess of hell wanting to seek peace with heaven by having sinners redeemed at her special hotel could have been a great idea. At least it was for the first five episodes, then after episode 6 of completely forgot about its own premise just so they can have justification of sin, in every sense of the word. Plus, how is that lady do you expect to win heaven's favor by fighting against them in the finale? That's not how you do it.
If they say that heaven is bad then what’s the point of trying to get redeemed then? As well as how does the angels and the other high ranks of heaven not know their rules, they’re intelligent enough to create earth but not rules?
They did it to create drama for no reason. It's not like that there's thousands of years of written text, books and other assorted paraphernalia that describes how souls can get into heaven after death. Particularly in this one slightly obscure book called THE BIBLE. A book that these writers may have read, but misinterpreted it very wrong.
Yes. Humans were not meant to leave the garden, aka they probably were not even designed to die, it happened after Lucifer fucked it up. It is not weird that angels don't know exactly what will happen next or how.
Angel can't be freed from slavery, because victimhood is power. Angel can't give up his vices, because that might make the target audience feel bad. The point of the show isn't self improvement, its to justify bad behavior.
Yeah I don't like the idea that Angel Dust can get redeemed just because he stopped doing drugs and being a p0rn star. Wasn't he not that good in life? He used to be part of the Italian Mob.
The idea that any sin can be forgiven not by self-improvement, but by being heckin wholesome big chungus. As long as you put on a facade of goodness, any depravity can be justified Sociopathy in a nutshell

You know the whole "Do people really deserve to stay in hell forever" Could have been such an amazing concept to explore. But they made every single character a complete asshole and because of that when the angels kill them I felt no pity. It didn't strike me as some cosmic injustice that they were in hell, from what I can tell they deserve it. If they made some demons genuinely nice people who were kind and compassionate then yeah, I would hate the angels for killing them. But all of them were just assholes and in my opinion, for people who supposedly live in hell, they aren't suffering enough
Imagine some character who is nice, genuine and caring, but went to hell and is despised by heaven because they ate shrimp and bacon once or something... That would be funny, a valid critique of organized religion and actually raise the question if _all_ demons are truly irredemably evil... But nope. All characters are assholes because the audience has to see themselves or something...
It those kinds of show that try to do the "The flaw, but quirky relatable character cast" but like to turn out to be annoying stupid incompetent character or a bunch of A-hole.
They aren't suffering at all I would say, in Dante's Inferno (clear inspo for Helluva Boss) sinners "live" in different circles while enduring tortures based on the gravity of their sins for eternity, while in HH and Helluva Boss the sinners just seem to be furries with superpowers who live in normal (although high-crime rate) cities. The whole point of after-life punishment or reward is non-existent I find the "in hell forever" concept to not work well in a literal setting, that's why I think it would be interesting to add the concept of reincarnation; my badly thought out idea to solve this issue is: souls in the afterlife, after a period of time, reincarnate into humans on Earth, exept for sinners' souls, who get killed off by angels(I guess) for obvious reasons, so Charlie wants to prove them wrong by redeeming sinners and blah blah... I don't want it to be a major plot point, just a small thing to add to the world building
@@darialomurno05 They can also die, which makes punishment in Hell kinda pointless if you can just off yourself anytime. In Dante's inferno and other sources, tormented souls will reform after death and suffer again and again...
The thing with Angel bothers me a lot. If he truly wants to live a better life he must change his ways. I just know that the writers want to push this positivity message „if he is free from Valentino his life will be perfect, of course he can wh*re around and do substances all he wants as long as it’s on his terms“, when that is a detrimental thing to propagate. He will be caught in an endless cycle of abuse if he doesn’t break out but I bet the show doesn’t have the guts to depict that because it might offend someone and they’d rather go with „as long as it makes him happy he should do it.“
They literally made it a point that he's supposed to avoid drugs? He relapses with Cherrie and Husk is disappointed... no one said he can or SHOULD do drugs.
It's hard for me to feel bad for Angel for the same reason. He got stuck with Valentino because he had no self control. He realizes that the situation he's in is bad, but it will cost him his life if he tries to run away. In order for him to survive, he has to put on this extreme wh*re act. I get some victims of SA become hypersexyal and develop peculiar interests in certain bedroom things to cope, but if he really wanted to get better after breaking away, he would be doing whatever he could to become sober and knock it off with the sl*tty persona. I guess it's just easier to be a victim and eventually get stuck in the same situation again instead of getting help and changing for the better. Also, can I just say that, even though I thought episode four was very good, it feels kinda fake and virtue signaling-ly? These are my personal feelings, but I could understand a warning if the episode was super graphic and lasted a long time except that wasn't the case at all. I didn't even know there was any SA happening and I've seen more physical violence in shows for kids. It also doesn't help that Angel constantly harasses the staff which is played for laughs as well as Sir Pentious being dragged off to be assalted while screaming in a later episode. I get Husk and Angel dust is a popular ship, but I just can't ship them myself. Angel's behaviors towards him are a big red flag. He doesn't need a relationship, he needs a therapist.

I'm gonna be honest I think one of the biggest problems is that this show isn't mature. They will handle dark topics like episode 4 but then have a similar situation as a joke 2 episodes later, like where's the logic in that?
Mature themes are things adults have trouble addressing because they're deeply uncomfortable. (suicide, abuse, feelings of hopelessness, etc...) This show is a teenager's version of mature ("Im going to say c*nt, smoke, disrespect my parents and be gay"). This could have been a good show if, like reaper said, they explored the concept of 'redemption'. They could have explored issued that lead people to self-destruct (how do you save someone from them-self?) and helped them work through them, but instead they want to be teen-edgy. I dont think it was conscious, I think they genuinely dont know how to solve adult problems.
@@raven75257 I realised they dont know how to solve big boy problems when watching modern superhero shows. they ALL have the trope of entering a character's mind to save them from their problems *(Gen V, Young justice season 3, titans, doom patrol, etc...)* the writers cant express adult existential problems, so they have it abstractly represented in someones mind (if someone's going through grief, then they just have it representing a dark wishing well that screams or something) then the person is told "fight it! youre stronger than it!" and they "overcome" their trauma by screaming at the physical manifestation of the problem. then they all return to the physical world It's so LAZY!
I really liked the original concept. It started out with a naïve soul in hell that came from privledge being optimistic, purely on faith, not on a government sponsored redemption plan, but purely that souls can be redeemed. It also had a mysterious and clearly evil force wishing to help for some reason that was the intrigue. The subtlety of it. And of course a cast of unlikely people to be saved with very well known and fun people. But once she got the sponsorship all those voice actors and friends she made along the way was cast aside for a more professional Broadway cast, because we needed more qualified people of color or something. I was, like Charlie, very optimistic, and wanted to like this. But upon viewing, this was less of a story, and was revealed to be more of a personal view of the creators world. Or a more idealized version of how she wishes the world was. Where all the good men are gay/submissive and all the bad are straight/controlling, all the women are gay/supporting, the Religious people are uptight and evil and all the hedonistic people should be allowed to have their fun. In the original, Vaggy was the other half of Charlie, the suspicious and cautionary side. Her conservative side if you will, and Charlie was the whimsical, carefree and reckless one. They kept each other in check. In this one Charlie is everything and Vaggy is just a literal 'supporting' character. She even gets more of an arc dealing with her past and secret than Charlie does dealing with her dead end. Heaven is evil because they enjoy condemning people like the creator, I mean Charlie and hell is full of manipulative bad people too. In this world good is purely subjective. Her father is weak, very supporting and insecure. Daddy issues given the form of a character. "He was never there for me, did not help me at all." when he is there "Hey baby! What can I do, do you need help? I am an important person you know, I can make things happen for you." More or less feels like her dad was well meaning but not 'there for her' in the ways she felt like, and she resents him for it, but he tried so at the end, you feel like Charlie was unreasonable, or just wrong. Ironically, as a parental figure for her group of friends, she is also distant and bad at it like her dad, but it all works out for some reason for her, how convenient. Ironically she believes in second chances, but not for her dad until he earned it first. Angels (Religious/Conservatives) fall into 3 groups. Cartoonishly evil, brimstone and fire type condemnation people, legalistic people who have do bad things because of "nebulously defined rules" but are not evil, and innocent people who are sympathetic to hell and 'good.' People in hell (Secular people) are basically damaged and insecure people taking it out on other. And the way it is done, we are supposed to be sympathetic to them. It is the Angels fault for not loving and fixing them basically. It is also somewhat ironic that Charlies sense of how to go about this is to appeal to government authority and politics, and ends up lecturing everyone when she is joined by her "allies" that it isnt fair. Who knew that letting governments be in charge of stuff like souls and salvation is a terrible idea. Regardless they tell her its impossible and because the "good" people are evil, the 'villain' who isnt even an angel, because Adam was not an angel, is allowed to even say things like "And I am going to kill you and all your little friends first." and nobody on the "Good" side stops him because... So now that one side is clearly painted as the bad guys, and they expect you to just assume the other selfish characters must be the heros then. So with her small cast of one major quirk as a personality cast, they decide to just defend themselves, and, low and behold, they just HAPPEN to know someone who learned about another person miraculously learning the secret of how to kill angels. And the secret is, the weapons. Yes the weapons kill both demon and angel. "What what a twist." And of course they win the battle and lose only enough to ENTIRELY INVALIDATE EVERYTHING plot wise. Remember how I said the original idea of "Relying on purely blind faith for salvation" in a sort of biblical way? Yeah. Apparently they did not need the government to be saved. Literally the original idea for the show of people having to change their ways and becoming better people to be saved was all they needed. So basicly the entire LONG plot was basicly pointless, because even if they kill you, if you became a good person, you become an angel so... Fuck it, it was all a waste. Basicly the creators self insert character is right, the bad angels get kills or wounded, the legal angels have to accept the rules have changed, and the secular people were right all along, all they had to do was get their life in order. I was so disappointed in this because it was wasted, she threw all her friends, voice actors and animators to the side and in a way, sold her soul to Amazon to make her dreams come true. I feel bad for the original voice actors that long advertised this, helped promote it and grew the fanbase. Ironicly, the original had more soul, heart and a better plotline. I is such a waste. And even more poetically, the creator seems to be held down by the same problems and issues as the characters in the show. Being judgmental against those who do not agree with you, writing people off that are not in your corner, not freely forgiving people despite what they have done, not staying loyal to your friends and selling it all for your chance as being big. And she also suffers from J.K.Rowling magic: It has no rules, no stakes and now idea on how to tell who is more powerful outside of winning or losing which is very plot based or how mad you are. This hurt me, a lot, if only because, I could see the potential. And as an artist, I enjoyed Vivsie Pops art and growth. In a way she is almost like that 1 in a million artists who get to have their artistic dreams made come true. But like Titan from Megamind, it was all squandered for vanity and personal gain. This hurt me on an artistic level, because what hope is there for the other 999,999 of us if this is what winning looks like?

Lilith the first woman, the breeder of demons, a hundred a day to be exact, and also the murderer of infants. And now she got to be the creator of hell and the first feminist. I wouldn't be surprised if these people actually look up to the mystos version of Lilith as a role model.
Maybe she is gonna be an actual villian and maybe teach Charlie a thing or two how to rule, but at the same time, she teaches her how to be a feminist(which it's bad), then realizes how truly bad Lilith is(because again, she created hell).

Making the angels the actual bad guys, is sooooo booooring, you can have good characthers while putting them into grey situations, I'd be so much more fun if Adam was just a tired, exhausted man, trying to do his best in a world where cannabilaistic demons are trying to become good people all of a sudden.
The AUs going around where Adam and Charlie switch places and Adam is trying to redeem his descendants from the Princess of Hell is the show we should've gotten.
y'know, something i'm surprised nobody mentioned is that the themes of the show aren't very clear, and are quite inconsistent. So i'm told that i should be okay with the obnoxious swearing because its hell, etc. Okay, i can understand why there's cannibals, murderers, rapists, and all sorts of terrible people in the show, the question is WHY does the show then treat those qualities differently from character to character? The show wants to tell me that Valentino is evil because he's a sexual abuser who is manipulating and exploiting Angel Dust, okay fine i can see what it wants to do, but then why does it treat murderers and cannibals like jokey gags? The show employs a lot of slapstick style humor, which i guess could still be interesting if it didn't betray its own themes and try to wag its finger and say "uh uh uh buddy, this is BAD!" while treating everything else like a casual joke. it has the same level of wrong place wrong time kind of humor as the MCU where "heroes" are in the middle of a war taking place on a planet or city, people are dying or whatever, and it's supposed to be a gritty fight, but then you hear these stupid quips that are meant to make you laugh during serious moments, it just betrays the tone. don't go try and tell me that Valentino is exceptionally bad while pandering to your favorites and giving them their moment to be cute and quirky, because if i'm supposed to believe Charlie wants to run a hotel to redeem demons and give them a second or third chance to redeem their souls, then she should be looking at all of these things with disgust. OR, if you wanted to, you could have it so that the activities of hell and all the slapstick humor is a reflection of Charlie's naivety to hell itself, and thinks most of these things are normal or not big deals, and that makes her feel redemption will be a piece of cake. but then as the show goes forward, she ends up realizing just how messed up that these sins are, and the slapstick humour fades away gradually as she comes to understand just how wicked some people are. it would be in line with the theme, and give her development to her motives.
valentino AND alastor both canonically have slaves. in fact they both have scenes where there are visuals of them having their slaves, who are visibly horrified, on chains. (valentino with angel dust, alastor with husk). the thing is, valentino is shown to be a horrible person, fair enough he owns slaves. but alastor gets to be a protagonist who has goofy fun moments and dances around and is very liked by both vivziepop and the fanbase. it's very much double standards
@@dexter_- exactly my point. Valentino is the scumbag we're supposed to dislike because that's how the show wants us to feel with how it portrays him with the music, scenery and reaction from the characters. Then we get Alastor who we're supposed to find "cool" and "quirky" and "goofy" and we're expected to think he's interesting or likeable, with how the show gives him singing time and with how the character somewhat tip-toe around him like he's their annoying roommate. so for Charlie, what actually separates Valentino and Alastor when they're both guilty of doing almost the same thing, given they're enslaving other people in hell? if it's "Valentino wants to keep enslaving people, Alastor only wants to see if her ideas are worth it", then that's not much. if anything, Charlie should be stern with him. she's the daughter of hell, why's she taking any seats back from someone who's beneath her own father? it's why i feel this show isn't really about any of the themes the writer says she wants to explore. all the moral lessons and all the themes are just a late feature to make the show seem deep, what it's really about is the slick animation and the interesting but grating artstyle.
It's because millenials and zoomers are fine with evil characters doing evil things in a fun way UNLESS it's sexual non-consent, fascism, racism or sexism. Their religion doesn't allow them to enjoy these topics in fiction because they'll get cancelled.
@@dexter_- I feel like anyone who genuinely believes that Alastor was meant to be a good guy in the story hasn't been paying attention to the plot at all. It's kinda blatant that he's a awful person who's done awful things, and is now taking advantage of Charlies kindness and naivety to use her to get what he wants, and there's numerous hints of this throughout the show before literally slapping our face with that reality during Alastors final song. Out of anything he's likely going to be one of the main antagonists at some point whenever he decides to cash in on the deal he made with Charlie. I actually think Alastor is a far better portrayal of evil because most people don't realize psychopaths by definition tend to be charming and capable of behaving like normal people. Not all bad people are like, "muhahahha I'm so evil" obvious, and it works to those peoples advantage because it's easier to manipulate people when on the surface you appear charming and wanting to help. It's why so many people get into relationships with abusers and don't realize it til they're in too deep cause they'd already gone through things like the "Love-bombing" phase where the person seemed so nice.
A lot of people also think that giving the show more episodes would fix the pacing issue, but because of how shit Vic’s team is at pacing, it would pretty much be the equivalent of grafting a second stomach inside of you, to prevent obesity.
I bet if she was given more episodes she would have tried to squeeze in more characters. There's this one dude called Baxter that she has yet to introduce.
It annoys me how people keep saying that crap. People will say "writers not giving enough time" even if a show has 4+ seasons. The reason writers failed is the exact opposite. No constraints means no constraints against wasting time. Go look at Murder Drones. They have managed to tell loads of story in several episodes.
Suddenly, I have a feeling that Reaper’s critique on Hazbin Hotel is going to get him into some drama with its fanbase, especially on Twitter. But since he knows of the show’s rabid fanbase, he’s already prepared. The community (including Vivziepop) has always gotta be having some sort of drama going on. You can pretty much call it Hell. Really don’t get that feeling from general reception of Steven Universe. It’s definitely up there in terms of impact and reputation, with Adventure Time and Regular Show. Usually the only original cartoons you see from YT nowadays are either super focused on sex jokes or are utterly dead after just 1 episode
To be fair, Steven Universe had potential and it would've been great if they didn't reveal the garbage out of all the mystery boxes set up by the show. It's ridiculous that every headcanon you had before reveal is way better that the story they actually went with.
Yknow I'm thinking back to Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and how the protagonists were vulgar angels who lived degenerate lifestyles. But that was the point. They were kicked out of heaven for their shitty behaviour. Also the demon sisters weren't portrayed as good in any sense of the word. They were bureaucratic and stuckup. The character Garter was a gangster who lived a life of sin and God gave him a second chance to repent. This was an anime with a very simple concept and an episode that spends 10 minutes telling the worlds longest dick joke and yet was infinitely deeper than this shit.

Vivienne Medrano just really wants to make musicals. It's one of the few consistent things her shows have in common. Others include daddy issues, relationship drama, edgy teenagers interpretation of Hell, and gays. A lot of gays.
And amusingly enough, given how she portrays things, I bet her daddy issues didn't even come from her having a bad father or one that isn't present. Definitely comes across that her daddy issues come from having an at least decent father that just didn't humor her delusions. The kind of daddy issues where the daddy isn't the issue, but rather it's her own issues that her daddy didn't enable.
Lastly, I don't think Vizzypop really understands the gravity of heaven and hell, as even in a more light-hearted approach, sinners are in hell for a reason, and how Charlie view them is so child like, it's actually sad. The scene of Charlie's Father, would show her just how bad these sinners are, would show awareness the depths be. You could still show the good and the bad, as it could strengthens Charlie's conviction on helping sinners to see the light, giving humanity, compassion and kindness to sinners who have nothing to lose, a spark of redemption. @@doff1395 Not entirely sure on what you see, what I understand in hasbin/Helluva universe, it's quite different. In this kind of Heaven and Hell, Eve didn't love Adam as he wasn't good to her, Lucifer is the one that shows her love and value, as in this story, Lucifer Morningstar is seen as good, while Adam is the antagonist. Even become Lilith and was happily married to Lucifer for 1000s of years, had a daughter in this universe, like Charles Morningstar. So to my perspective, and in that logical, this isn't the same as the bible version of Hell, nor was Lilith was living like Hell, as she choosen be outcast by heaven to Hell for Love, and treated as a queen with Lucifer, living in a palace in Hell wouldn't be so bad, specifically how Lucifer values and respects her greatly for many years after the garden of eden. So in that conclusion, I am more with Lucifer Morningstar side, as even if his wife did went to heaven, it was still a breakup to Lucifer's heart and for me to love, specifically how much he values and treat her well, more so then Adam, I can definitely understand why he be upset, specaly how long she been in Hell for with him. So I can see some elements of the Show that is appealing, mix to the story and writing, as well the music, however I still can see some good in the characters and see potential, even if it can only conclude to inspire.

To her, Communist class warfare bullshit IS a moral code. Sir Pentious went to heaven because he was a cringing sycophant that never actually managed to hurt a woman. In Communism, the "correct" ideology, can't EVER be wrong, history is just what you make of it, so pretty much everyone is dogshit as a character, including him. Because Communism thinks natural competition IS cannibalism, unless they do it, because they're the socialist utopians with the peaceful world for everyone. To Communists, intent alone saves or damns you. This is how we get the weird circumstance that Charlie is more holy than heaven, since heaven apparently only wants to protect its position as an overclass. And of course, because Vivzie is dumb Commie feminist, heaven can't explain systemic advantage. They literally have no idea how anyone gets into heaven. Yet you'll notice, heaven is full of people living the faggy modern feminist life. The only Saint is Peter, and he's gay as hell. She doesn't have a division between heaven and hell because she literally does not KNOW anything else. This is actually how Communists see the world. They keep showing people over and over again in their actions, but they're so bizarre as to elude normal understanding.
Ironically, Hell in this show is just a slightly exaggerated reflection of modern day Los Angeles. But seriously though, the only actually interesting character was Adam. He comes off as a hyper confident jerk, but I can imagine that's a defense mechanism developed from all of the shit he's been through, and he actually has a lore reason to hate absolutely everyone in Hell, and ESPECIALLY Charlie. Everyone else? Their only character trait is just... being gay, more often than not.
"ESPECIALLY Charlie" probably bc she's the daughter of the person who doomed humanity and has the ADUCITY to come and say smt like "the ppl my dad actually ruined their career aren't that bad yes they might be murders and cannibals or even worst but thats okay bc everyone is redeemable!!" Your words hit the nail with the hummer on hell being LA 😭
To be fair, that was the story of Lilith in the Hebrew mythology, she was a man hater and the original feminist. That was not framed as a positive thing as she became a demon.
I kinda lost it laughing when Reaper called her the original blue haired feminist, I’ve never heard that description of Lilith before and it’s weird how accurate it is 🤣
This was written by zoomers, this is ZOOMER writing. Millennials dont have any representation to be able to write anything like this 😂. You zoomers suck so bad and keep attacking every other generation, now everyone hates you. The too anticipated show, smiling friends, 100% millennial. In fact, anything touched by zoomer turns to crap, zoomers want probouns in everything You zoomers are incapable of taking accountability. Keep crying and sucking, zoomer. Go on, have a cry zoomer, cuz all you can do is pass off zoomer mistakes as a millennial mistake xD. Keep failing, failing is all you zoomers succeed at, you proved it ** mic drop**
