A smart animal would be able to recognize up to a few hundred words. Then you have short hand between dog and owner like voice inflection and non verbal cues. It's not impossible to think the dog could try and mimic a few words. Other animals can do it. And this dog is definitely unusually perceptive for a husky which is already a very intelligent breed. I've seen huskys learn to open doors if the door handle is the right type, they are always watching and learning.
