This video shows a pretty common complaint for string trimmers like this Husqvarna 128LD and others. Only runs on half choke is a sign the engine is starving fr fuel. lets find out why. #smallenginerepair
You might enjoy checking out the channel Vintage Engine Repairs. Tom does a great job educating on most things small engine related. Here is his video on ultrasonic cleaners. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tXVIFnka0Kg.htmlsi=KZ6XBKE2ydfgXULN
I have the same trimmer and I’ve gotten a new carb for it as I was didn’t feel like rebuilding the old, but it won’t start unless on half choke and when it does it won’t take any throttle. Any idea what could be the problem
I'm hoping you're still here. I've tried everything to remedy my husqvarna 122 LK trimmer but to no avail. I think you had a video about a part around the clutch area. If so, could you post it again. Or tell me the name of that part please.
@@TheGreasyShopRag In my search for trouble shooting this trimmer I crossed a help video that talked about a part that may inhibit power causing sluggish running of the trimmer. But I don't remember who's video. I thought it might be you. It was around the clutch area, he specificly pointed that out. Are there any pick ups, coils, relays in that area that you know of? Anything? I remember a beard on the man but he was older. Much like my memory.
@@TheGreasyShopRag Thank you. Would that cause no power, no RPM's? It cuts a blade of grass per minute, exagerated, but that's how slow it spins. I'm also thinking a pin hole in a fuel line or a defective muffler, from the factory, clogged? I'm trying anything.
Some possibilities include carb adjustment, hole in fuel line, air leak in engine, heavy load on engine(scored cylinder, bad bearing or bad clutch spring). Another thought is to confirm proper choke operation. That choke lever can get wonky.
Hey I subscribe man I like how you were very elaborate in the instructions And especially with the fuel filter in the fuel lines I had mine actually backwards
You Ever Notice on These The Fuel lines Degrade and There Inner Casing of The Line is Separated From The Outside of The Fuel Lines Causing a Restriction I’ve also Seen it on The 125B Blowers and Some Saws 😩😳
If I dont have an Ultrasonic Cleaner can I just use spray in Carb Cleaner? I have this same model with the same problem. I changed the sparkplug but it still has the issue, has to be the carb since Ive used it for over 9 years without service lol.
Spray carb cleaner can work as well or better than an ultrasonic cleaner but it won't fix other issues like a stiff metering diaphragm. Of course the ultrasonic wont fix that either.
Knowing me, I’m probably one of the ones that has already asked. On the way home from work today I had the thought that I needed to stop and grab some beer. I haven’t drank in about six years. I’m getting potato brains
"If you like puzzles, you'll like this" lol, I do like puzzles, but what I like more is to buy a weedeater and it works first pull every time and doesn't only run in half choke straight out of the box XD. Instead I have one that since day one only runs if you pull in full choke until it tries to start, then one more pull in half choke, then one more in no choke, then finally one more pull in half choke and it runs but even then it tries to die if you don't hold down the gas for 30-40 seconds. It is a shame that Craftsman used to be recognized as a cheaper but the quality of Snap-On, and now it is only Chinese made dogshit. Same thing happened to Porter Cable. Used to be quality tools then got bought out but they kept the name and now they make shit tools and only half the tools they used to in order to force you to go with their equally as crappy quality Craftsman tools. lmfao
Working on a TB22 Troy Bilt trimmer The coil is bad. Work just to look at it. Do you have a video about removing the clutch? It is really really stuck on. Normally I lock the piston and tap it. But not this one.
@@TheGreasyShopRag thank you. I was thinking about trying that. Friend or no friend…..see one….turn and run screaming. LOL. Not hard just time consuming
@@TheGreasyShopRag Halfway through, he remembered it’s under warranty. So he asked me to just put it all back together again. Smile on my face I said sure.
