*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*
What a lot of people don't realize is that when it's hot & has been shut off, you need to pull the choke out, THEN PUSH IT BACK IN. That sets the high idle & it should start. If you don't do this, you'll crank it forever.
The Husqvarna 235 and 240 are the biggest pieces of junk ever made. Husqvarna should have recalled every one of them. They have an unfixable defect from the factory that cannot be fixed.
Great videos A-1. I've had one of these E-240s since 2008 and its worked flawlessly since then. Only service I've had to do over the years was fuel lines and air filter. In fact I'm still running the factory spark plug. After 9 years Finally starting to have carb problems though and would like to pull it and clean it if not go ahead and replace it. I'd love to see a video showing how to properly crack the case for the purpose of cleaning/replacing the carburetor.
Not if you want to run one for more than an hour! A tank of gas lasts about half hour, so after 2 tanks of gas it won't start again until it cools off. I have a 240 but other Husqvarna owners complain about the exact same thing...won't start when hot.
I know this is late, but EXACTLY what Ken said. I bought one to replace a stolen Jonsered. When it runs, it cuts like a beast. Trouble is keeping it running while idle. Also, instructions say to purge the gas line 6 times, I think. I usually hit the bubble like 12 times. When cold, it starts right up. But you better cut fast, and hope you don't have to stop in the middle of your work. Next time I buy a saw, it will not be a husky. Hope this helps someone out there looking for some answers about saws. As a side note: When I was a kid, my dad bought a Stihl 029, and ran it for well over 20 years...
The saw doesn't run very long. It will shut off several times, it will idle but once you press the throttle it will kill. When it does run, the fly wheel is garbage and will cause problems. It leaks bar oil like the exon Valdez. Don't waste your money like I did.
Make sure the bar brake is OFF to take this a part to clean it. It is a B**** if you don't! I had to take mine to a shop to reset it. It is not like a Stihl for that.
@@IMiss_The90s I got mine from a frustrated guy. I set the mixtures right, and now I have the hardest pulling sub - 40cc saw I've ever run. Tiny torque monster it is.
I've had several chainsaws but mine ran for an hour and quit, never would start again. I expect the coils are poor quality. At least test it out for a few hours before the store return policy expires.
240e husky all i get done is replaceing flywheel sheers off the keyway inside the flywheel dont like this saw at all all well most stuff is plastic junk anyways
have had 4 of these, ya FOUR- all warranTY, all failed because air was getting into fuel line, which degraded from cold. These plastic fuellines and plastic primer bulb especially, do not like to freeze, or excess sunlight, because the cheap plastic degrades and ends up leaKing, and you lose prime as air enters fuel line from cracks....., this is the worst part of the design...., good luck fixing.... i have worked in mineral exploration and tree falling and have used saws extensively for fuel wood cutting and saw mill. My sTihL 038, is over 20 years old and runs and starts like a dream, but for lighter work, wanted a saw that wasn'T 13 lbs.
Husqvarna stuff is cold blooded. I just started mine up because I have to use it for my wife’s ass hole hair. Anyways I had to change the chain cuz I struck mud and dirt. Thanks for the help
I bought this saw brand new. It either won't start. Or. Bogs out and shuts off. Then. Won't restart. Nothing but issues since new. Only on 4th tank of fuel. I'll never buy another husqvarna. Their customer service is non existent.
i have had this particular chainsaw for about 3 years now, purchased from the southern states co-op which is now out of business. I purchased in a pinch to aid with limbing, small cuts when someone was coming over to help me work. I have had a number of issues with the throttle linkage, maybe its streched; also had to purchase a new side plate that has the brake, the bar tensioner is a terrible design, held on only by a plastic tab. It is not running now, or atleast not well. Once you get it started, it will run for a few minutes then shut off, I wonder if the cylinder head is bad...
