A while back, I unsubscribed from any channel that wasn't teaching me. Yours stayed.

I have all my 65 channels organized by usefulness or newness to me in folders marked Primary, Secondary and Newbies. I recently opted out of notifications for all the secondaries, leaving about 20 channels I try to keep up with all the time. Scott’s is one of those Primaries! Newbies get tested and after 4-6 videos if I don’t learn anything or production values are so bad I have a difficult time grasping what they’re trying to share I will usually delete or file at the bottom of the secondaries. I also have a folder of Specialists - people who do a lot of one thing really well. Scott is in my Chainsaw folder under Husqvarna. If I ever have a question about these saws he’s done hundreds more than anyone else know of, plus his diag skills are honed really well so he wastes very little time getting right to the issue. Plus his production qualities are in the top tier so I can always hear and usually see what he’s doing.

Because of you, I was able to diagnose and repair my neighbors chainsaw and one for myself. I'm a big fan of keeping things going. I watch, or watched, many small engine repair channels, most of them just don't seem to explain things very well or are too flashy. You on the other hand explain things really well.@@TheGreasyShopRag

@@TheGreasyShopRag exactly! Would lime to try my own hand at it, just adjust ceilings/ timing for base gasket deletes and widen slightly, but afraid of slipping, flaking coating. Youve clearly worked on a LOT of these, 346oe/ne or 550mk2 if you had to choose?

Great video. I don’t think the banging the saw down hurts any thing. Just a great way to start a video in my mind. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋 I have four saws. All leak bar oil. 🤦🏻‍♂️. Any way, I like watching any of your videos, but came across one about gluing the hose for the pump into the oil tank. So I tryed that. Seemed to help. But it’s still leaks some times. I have not tried it on the other saws yet. Any way. Thanks for the tip.
@Rein_Ciarfella
@Rein_Ciarfella 5 месяцев назад
I differentiate between leak, seep and drip. Understanding the differences can help diag the problem. Cleaning the saw really well inside and outside and setting it on a clean paper surface overnight are the first steps to isolate the source. Then it’s a case of inspecting very closely to follow the trail to the source. I’ve identified bad engineering on a brand new polesaw using these steps. I believe I created a text file listing all the sources I’ve found or learned about and there are many!

Chainsaws get worse treatment by their owners than what you do at the beginning of the videos. I'm here to learn. I typically only repair my own stuff. Occasionally I will repair a small engine if the owner can't find a service center, or simply doesn't have the money because I don't charge labor.

I was just lookin i use the 18 inch bar 440 husqvarna and poulan pr5020 for backup if i need it i got it. And i replaced my other poulans sprocket because it was worn down and traded my stihl i did have for the poulan i keep for another backup if i need that one it wouldn't stay idling when i first got the poulan but does now its high and low just needed reset right but i traded the stihl for the poulan because the poulan chain slings plenty of oil while cutting may cut slower but its chain last longer than the stihls does and the poulan is easier to start up than stihl

Scott, did the excess drag from the loose clutch cause it to stall at idle?
@TheGreasyShopRag

Thats possible but I don't think so in this case. The springs were holding it together and that worm gear was very tight.

I've watched this girl before. If I remember right she put the piston in backwards with the arrow pointing towards the intake. I'm also not sure she is really repairing anything, it looks like she's just taking it apart and putting it together again. She's good at that but again, I have never seen any real repair or parts replacement.
