Couple of goals for this video. First to cover some assembly details that will help a person get through the twists and turns of putting a top end on and the 562's back together. There are a few things that can make this process easier. Order of assembly being a key issues. Second to make the point that even the oldest/earliest versions can be made to run and run reliably. The focus of this build was first a little boost in compression. Second some tweaks to try and get some heat out of that saw. Do those things while still being safe for forestry use. Keeping the spark arrestor in.

I always wait overnight before I fire a new saw up to allow the 1284 to set up pretty good.

Fantastic videos... filled in all my mental gaps! When you started talking about going into an interlude on CAD ... I was so excited I thought I was going to make another pot of coffee and then you refrained and reeled it in for the masses! I'll was instantly wisked into the scene at the end of the Doors Movie where Jimmy's just talking and reciting lines into the 4 track....just unloading his mind on to tape. Id love to take the trip into CAD design....Sir! I'm self taught so your oratory education has been a beautiful chapter in my life's education, my friend! Well I might have a chance a two that were straight gassed!!! And I'm hoping and thinking that at a buck per I'd be getting a deal? They are tight little packages for these meat macerator hands of mine??? I figure since you made the jig and all ...and I don't want that going to waste... I'll just give you a twenty spot on each to handle all that removal of the cylinder base and whatnot....! LMFFAO!!! I guess me and the foredom are going to get it the best we can! It's a shame I can't just cast a piston to do that compression bump!!!! LOL 😂 ! I was thinking about tig welding up the domes then sanding and shaping the piston tops but then you're getting into the improper cooling and balance issues? I'm hoping I can just sand out the transfer on the old jugs (both were straight gassed and I haven't got to see the plugs or jugs yet) and get them to running !!! I don't ever leave home without my 1184 so that might be my air leak repair? I'm more getty then a teenager school girl to get my paws on these and see them and see what I can salvage ... I don't get newer power and equipment very often and these are of this modern era deal!!!I have a couple of new 20 inch bars that should dress them up nicely if I can get them chooching! They are sharp looking saws these days with the splash of gray/silver on the chain brake cover areas.... I wanna run one against that MS391 I was able to tweak a bit.??? Thanks for having the answers out here on the inter web for all us chainsaw question seekers... Cool hand Luke! Always grateful for your knowledge! I loved the line where you were like ... well I guess I could leave that like that.... na.... is know it was there and that would bug the crap out of me if I left it!.... just something silly... but if you're doing it !!! then you better do it right the first time a don't Ever leave the silly little sloppy stuff that comes back to bight you on the butt, everytime! My grandfather was an aviation mechanic back in the Spirit of St Louis days ... he built that plane actually... he was on the mural in the airport for a kind time...I think they've moved it now... walked off the farm in Indiana in the 8th grade because he was tired of waring hand me down clothes from his older brothers to school....and ended up in California building airplanes a couple years later. You do it right the first time! Got branded into me at a very early age... but so did think outside the box! That why I love your videos!

That was one of the things I learned about Husqvarna saws building the 372. There is a proper sequence to assemble the saw. You must do it their way and not throw the saw, together, out of sequence. I am able to throw a Stihl saw together in just about any sequence I desire, but not a Husqvarna. I do it right, I do it twice, sometimes thrice or more. I cannot tell you how many times on the 372 that I had to take parts off, just to get other parts on.

Any cylinder or piston that I do any work on gets a bath in my ultra sonic cleaner which just has a shot of Dawn in the water. I do the piston and cylinder separately and then rinse them off with hot water and blow them dry with compressed air. I also wipe them out with a clean shop towel to make sure there is no residue left in the cylinder or piston.

Good work,will be interested to see how it runs for you. Fully agree on the 32-1 ratio, it can't but help the bearings etc live longer and also help with heat transfer.

You mention a great deal of difficulty getting the cylinder off using 1184 on gasket. Cannot get my cylinder up. Suggestions.. ? will heat gun destroy the transfers rubber gaskets?
@afleetcommand
@afleetcommand 2 года назад
Rubber mallet is what I use most of the time, just be smart where u hit and how hard u hit. The other "last result" situation is check to see ( thru the exhaust port ) that the piston / ring isn't jammed. If the top end is ruined, then I'll hold the cylinder and put a rod thru the plug hole and pound it apart.

I have a second Gen 562xp and I'm experiencing vape lock, hot starting issues. Any advice would be appreciated. Love your channel! Thank you

Second generation? Is that the 5 to 6 screw case change? Cut the cover and mod the muffler to let heat out.

@@afleetcommand yes I believe so. It definitely has the top cover cut out. It still runs hot as hell to. Thanks for the prompt response

Johnson's Motors in Marathon, NY...is that Bob Johnson? The guy that's like in his early 80's that bought out the McCulloch chainsaw distributors?! He's a McCulloch chainsaw guru.

No, its Deren Johnson. He really is Motorcycle focused. Old Triumphs and Harleys. Does Brit cars as well.
