Even though the brand new 572 beat a 20 year old 372, you can't beat a 372 for an all around saw, and a 395 for a bigger saw. Husqvarna 372 XP best saw ever made.
As an all round general purpose falling saw u might be right. But in big timber, a short bared,,like I run mine, I think the 395 xp is the finest felling saw ever made
Great video. Have cut trees with chainsaws and have cut one with a crosscut saw. Them guys that did it with a crosscut had to be something else to do that all day long. I have never cut trees for a living just around the house. Cut the one with the crosscut with my mother in law on the other end of the saw. She was the only other one there that knew how to make it work. Stay safe and God bless you'll.
As a southernSon who now lives in the Midwest, your accent and your way of speaking makes me smile ear to ear and cheer for you! Good on ya! All the best and great success to you sir
Once you get start getting your saws woods ported you will wonder why you never did it sooner. No down sides, just WAY more power. My 550XP autotune saws gained a ton of power just from putting "proper" gutted mufflers on them.
They all cut. Well. All depends how much $ you want to spend. For a saw to cut a few seconds faster. I am sure you could sharpen that chain. To the point that the saw would have a tough time.
One is brand new and one is 18 years old. Is there a significant technicalogical improvement over the years? What is the difference in cost? What is the difference in maintenance? Do you prefer the operation of one over the other? Since you already own the 372xp, would you "upgrade" to the 572xp if you had to spend your own money? Great video. As ever, you pay attention to the details and make them great to watch.
The 572 is an evolution of the 372 so it's about 200-300 more. Is it more dependable and easy to work on,no way to tell too new. Can't even, get it state side yet. The old 372 pre auto tune is nice and reliable and the average person can work on it without bringing it to the shop.
Is it really worth switching? I might get my money back? I'm just cutting firewood for myself. 10 cord for me. I will sell a little if one begs me. I gonna get a 572.
I got 34 sec. on the 372 and 29 sec. on 572. Not bad for a 20 year old saw! But I may be bias😏. I’m a 372 xp man. They’re the best saws I’ve ever had in my hands. Great video, thank you sir.
@@tomkay-bradley3001 I agree. He simply won't admit that 20 years matters. I bet the 572 is dead in half that time. Do I think a new 372 will smoke a new 572? No. I've already seen the outcome. I will say it's a hell of a lot closer than what you see here. A couple seconds diffence over what he has shown here. He has to push his new saw he was gifted partly also.
I have a 1999 372XP and this saw has never given me issues other than they leak bar oil when they sit. The saw has unbelievable power and very reliable. I would never replace it with a new model considering how much that 572 costs.
I have never really liked these types of comparisons. Old saw vs new saw, literally. To many variables. U should probably at least show a compression check before. The 372 could be tired for all anybody knows.
What are those hardhats worth never even seen one on the shelf in out cheap ass husky dealer can't keep anything in Stock and the don't know there product.
I love my 372xp, but am really looking forward to the 500i that Stihl is coming ot with, I'm thinking that'll be my mid size saw replacement when the time comes... I'm not brand loyal.
I run a newer 576 and an older modded 372. The 576 feels lighter (never weighed them) and like it’s got a bit more snort. I just hope the 576 holds up as strong as my trusty old 372 has. I’m hoping Husky continues to develop new saws, particularly a 5 series version of the 395. I would be first in line.
Got asked to get some saws running for a tree company once purposely put chains on backwards just as a test to see if people pay attention and heard a guy tried to cut with one wouldnt cut so tried to sharpen the bachside of the chain
Great video tim I think the 572 was a little bit better than the 372 but it was close. Thank you for sharing this with us. I own Stihl saws but I am think about looking at the 572 it seems to be a good one
Good stuff man, had a great big what we call here in VA a ironwood tree blow down from neighbors yard into my yard in October of last year when Michael came thru here, tree was 40" at stump, limbed it with a Stihl pole saw, cut limbs with a echo 280e large limbs with a Stihl 391 and trunk with Stihl 660 with 28" bar, this was alot of work for an old man. Really enjoy your videos and can relate to what you do. Keep up the great work. 👍
I'm a Husky guy, however, all the 4 series saws are to be avoided, absolute crap. Unless you're pro, see if you can grab a good used 350 or 365. The 365 will run you more money but it's an ANIMAL of a saw. I haven't tried any of the 5 series saws, they look to be great but when they fail they'll be too technical for most non pros to fix, and they're expensive. Any good used 3 series is where it's at.
I have put a chain on backwards and i told dad one day and he was beside me and i said dad chain wont cut and he said sun you have it on bakwords i just laughed and said woops
@cotontop3 how about doing a random drawing for subscribers to get a chance to win a brand new 572XP or 550XP MKII or a 545XP MKII (One of the latest gen autotune saws) heck if you do that I'll throw in a brand new (non-XTorq) 372XP D.H.P.S.S. clone saw for another lucky subscriber. That stands for Dave's High Performance Saw Shop, I'm Dave... Love the videos and really appreciate the time put into your channel, just plain awesome! How about it? Later Tater!
What’s that an Air Force flagon your wall? My flag is green on my wall, standing for the big green machine. SFMF, if you know what that means. I have the Stars and Bars on my office wall. My GGF was the First Sergeant,26th Georgia, 2nd Corps, ANV. My grandfather was a private in Company A, Georgia Cadets..my family has served this country since before there was a country and I descend from 16 Revolutionary Soldiers, one of which died in the revolution. It is nice to see a patriot on UTube.
@@bobbystacey5360 Actually their saws are being made in Germany by Dolmar, which was former Sachs -Dolmar.I think that at 78cc it is pretty much unbeatable.
If i had the choice of buying only one saw (for cutting big timber), i'd go with the Husqvarna 372xp. It's reliable and it has alot of fans all over the world (alot of punch and power for it's size and weight). Sorry, but the new generation has too much electronics in it. ... Greetings from Canada !
I have a 372 xp I have two bars for it a 24 inch and a 28 inch. With a new or sharp chain it can really get the job done . Cut many large hard woods with it hickory , white oak, red oak here in central Ky. Always have to refuel after felling and bucking a large tree and sometimes before. Great saw..
Nice looking wood, excellent comparison. I would say if the 572 lasts as good as the old saw you will have a new favorite. Tim i have five of you guys that i watch every day. You, Jason (Hollis Farms ) Wes(OLF), Chris(Lets dig 18) and Wade ( Logger Wade). All great channels and all good people. Thanks
CT3 sorry man got away from the you tube a bit. Mans saw's eat well like them both. So I guess its old vs new here which from what I can tell both saws did very well. Granted the 572 will be a great saw just as the 372 was back in the day, never had a 372 but had good saw with the 562xp as the newer ones and they are at least 3 years old. man all that new PPE on you looking good where is the Link for the that helmet? Keep up the good work love you channel... LATER TATER
Hey I enjoy watching your videos. What’s your opinion on the Husqvarna 572 for the long haul? Do you think it will test the hands of time with durability and longevity like your ole faithful 372? Thanks again and keep the videos going!
nice video comparison bud,,, US. Army vet here and a lover of timber myself, one day i want to land one of them 395xp, but being a disabled vet, might be a while before i can ever afford one, id like to start slabbing word and working with slabs, so if ya see a 359xp sitting around not being used, send it my way lolol , but i enjoyed watching what the 572 and 372 can do. thanks my friend.
Why does the 372 make a pinging sound? Is that normal for older husqvarna saws or does that have more to do with what material the piston and Jug are made out of? Thanks - Nate
@@kyleflood6173 I thought that of the 395XP when I got it but now that I have 592XP and 572XP and other 5 series saws I believe the 3 series to look very old. Everyone's idea of a good looking saw is different so I respect your opinion🙂
Good video brother. Really enjoy this stuff. That 572 sure does have a unique sound. Nice shop! Love the deer in the background, both green and whitetail👍🏻.
Let's compare them modified. I'm interested in the good shit not a legendary proven stock saw vs. a non proven new saw. Lets look at those hot saw numbers...
